Callie snatched his phone fiercely. “Don’t call him, I have nothing to do with him!”
Before she finished speaking, she felt a heavy blow to the back of her head and fell into a familiar, warm embrace.
A man’s deep voice sounded above her. “You can leave now.”
Bridger chuckled as he took back his phone, thinking to himself that his friend had lost completely.
Callie, drunk and squinting, looked at the newcomer. Despite his grim expression, she said, “You’re here.”
Nelson bent down and carried her to the VIP room, suppressing his frustration and wishing he could splash water on her to wake her up.
The soft woman moved slightly and mumbled mockingly, “I forgot, this place is yours.”
In a soft voice, she asked, “Do you look down on me?”
Nelson slapped away her flailing hand and threw her onto the soft bed. Without a word, he walked into the bathroom, skillfully pulled out a clean towel, wet it with hot water, and returned to wipe her face gently.
After a while, she seemed to fall asleep and suddenly became quiet.
Just as Nelson was about to get up, she grabbed his shirt and pulled him back, vomiting all over him…
In the dim light, Nelson’s temple throbbed. He gritted his teeth; it had to be intentional.
“Callie!” Her face looked like a little kitten’s. She was gazing at him with drunken eyes that were pitifully watery.
At this moment, Nelson couldn’t even get angry. He closed his eyes and resigned himself to cleaning her up again.
It took another hour to get them both cleaned up.
Callie had really fallen asleep. Her hair was tied up messily by him, with a few strands falling on her face. Her bare face looked clean and beautiful, like a gentle cat when she wasn’t causing trouble.
Nelson lay quietly beside her, turning off all electronic devices that might wake her up. His embrace was warm.
However, he remained awake for a long time.
Tonight she was not in her right mind. Who knows what kind of trouble she’ll cause when she wakes up in the morning?
Time ticked away slowly.
“Why don’t you understand me?” he whispered. In the vast room, only his voice echoed.
Callie woke up around midnight. Her throat burned from drinking too much alcohol. Instinctively reaching for the bedside table, she found it empty. Panicking, she fully woke up and turned on the bedside lamp, realizing she wasn’t at Paucaster Villa Complex…
At Paucaster Villa Complex, Nelson often prepared a glass of water for her.
Thinking of this, Callie shook her head vigorously.
At that moment-
“What are you fussing about now?”
His voice was still drowsy, like sandpaper-hoarse and unsettling.
Callie was startled. She turned around. “Why are you here!”
Nelson woke like a wolf, slowly opening his eyes with an intimidating presence. He glanced disdainfully at her as she pulled the thin blanket up to her chest and mocked lightly, “Who else did you think bathed you and changed your clothes?”
Anger surged through Callie. She raised her hand to slap this man. “You are truly shameless!”
Nelson caught her hand precisely and pulled her into his arms.
Her face bumped into his warm chest, causing some pain. She could feel his powerful heartbeat.
