Chapter 345: Kidnapped

Callie sat in her office, searching for Cora’s contact information in the internal software.
As Nelson’s assistant, Cora had many privileges, such as unrestricted access throughout the company and the ability to erase surveillance footage. Growing up alongside Nelson, Cora was fully capable of such actions.
Moreover, she had already conspired with Skye to harm her.
Callie only blamed herself for overthinking and considering too many complex possibilities, ultimately forgetting about her.
But was Nelson really trying to protect her by insisting on taking the voice recorder?
After finding Cora’s address, Callie noted it down. She anxiously waited until the end of the workday, then hurried out. While hailing a cab, she noticed someone following her.
It was bodyguards disguised in plain clothes.
Callie closed her eyes, took a detour but couldn’t shake them off. She had to stop, “Did Nelson send you to follow me?”
The two men exchanged glances and agreed with her, “Mr. Oconnor doesn’t want you wandering around.”
Callie took a deep breath, “I’m not wandering. Can’t I even go back to Paucaster Villa Complex?”
“We’ll take you there.”
Callie glanced around and saw their car parked not far away. Realizing that resisting might not end well, she nodded and followed them to the car.
Just as she reached the car door, several people suddenly appeared behind the vehicle and struck the two bodyguards on the head with weapons. During their moment of pain, Callie was forcefully pulled away, “Mrs. Oconnor, sorry for the offense!”
Callie was shoved into a van, her eyes blindfolded. Her heart raced, “Who are you?”
One of them responded, “Mrs. Oconnor, take a guess.”
“You know my identity, and you still dare to touch me?”
Someone laughed, “There aren’t many in Ylosea who can touch you. Take a guess.”
“Jaquan?” Callie blurted out instinctively.
“Thanks to Mr. Scott, we knew your whereabouts.”
Upon hearing this, Callie spat, “Bastard! Don’t try to sow discord in front of me. Jaquan is in the hospital; he has no reason to plot against me.”
No matter how deranged he was, he wouldn’t harm his savior.
But in Ylosea, who else could be her enemy? At that moment, Callie thought of someone, “Cora? Did Cora send you?”
Unable to bring her down openly, she naturally resorted to underhanded tactics.
“Stop talking!”
The van drove for a long time, long enough that Callie couldn’t tell where they were before it finally stopped.
They removed the blindfold from her eyes, revealing an abandoned building.
Callie’s hands were tied as they pushed her inside. She looked around and saw Cora sitting on a dilapidated chair on the second floor, typing on a computer.
Callie was stunned to see Marilyn tied up in front of Cora. Marilyn looked frail and had blood at the corner of her mouth. She seemed unconscious.
“Cora! Are you crazy?” Callie shouted in disbelief at the scene before her. She never expected Cora to go to such extremes!
Hearing the noise, Cora finally looked at her directly, “You’re here.”
It had been a long time since they last met. Cora had lost a lot of weight, making her facial features appear sharper and more severe.
She closed the laptop and glared at Callie with hatred in her eyes. She asked the bodyguards, “Is anyone following?”
“Not for now.”
Only then did Cora relax. She walked down the steps and approached Callie, nearly gritting her teeth, “Weren’t you going to get a divorce? Why didn’t you? If you had divorced, would we be here today?”
