Chapter 607: Eyes on the Pot While Eating from the Bowl

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2024-10-27

Becoming a Great Grandmaster in just a month?
Upon hearing Flynn’s words, Molly was filled with regret.
She believed in the effectiveness of the techniques Flynn preached; after all, ten years ago Flynn was a nobody, but now he had become a Great Grandmaster. Surely, there must be a secret path, perhaps it was thanks to The Eighteen Forms of the Celestial Blade and Aetherium Dust!
Molly, on the verge of tears, downed a glass of liquor furiously.
Such an opportunity to become a Great Grandmaster, and she had let it slip away…
Seeing Molly continuously drowning her sorrows in drink without replying, Flynn couldn’t be bothered to engage any further.
Turning to Scarlet, he said, “I visited the Stewart family today. The deals for cement and steel are settled. Terrapin Company will supply them for free.”
“Mm, I got a call from someone at Terrapin Company,” Scarlet smiled, unfazed by such matters.
She had warned Brooks Barstow over the phone previously not to mess around, or he would regret it.
But he had just laughed it off.
At that moment, Scarlet knew Brooks Barstow was done for.
When Flynn takes action, buildings collapse!
He wouldn’t stop until he had crushed them completely.
“Oh, by the way! Ms. Sharp, the Gao family went to tend to your mother’s grave.”
“I thought they would desecrate your mother’s resting place, so I made them kneel at the foot of the mountain,” Flynn remarked to Rose indifferently.
“Merely tending the grave isn’t enough, they must pay with their lives!” Rose’s gaze sharpened as she spoke coldly.
Flynn shrugged, discussing their fate as if talking about the death of livestock, and said nonchalantly, “Exactly, that’s why I had them kneel for three days instead of killing them outright.”
“It’s so that once everything settles, you can be the one to send them off.”
“Now that we have investments, Braiden and Maximo are also dead, you can strike back anytime. But before that, make sure you are in good health.”
Rose nodded and replied, “With those two buzzing flies gone, the pressure has indeed lessened.”
“I’ll rest well these next few days. However, there are still matters I need to attend to, like Harriet Hamilton’s birthday party tomorrow. I must go, and she probably mentioned it to you too.”
Flynn nodded silently.
Rose glanced at Flynn and reminded him, “Lysander King Zion will be in Niarak tomorrow, and the big shots from the surrounding cities will all be there.”
“The event will certainly be grand. You should be careful with your words and actions.”
Harriet Hamilton is to marry Stellan Wallace as a concubine, as Zion’s daughter.
Rose was already aware of this.
Flynn would definitely try to stop it.
Rose was worried.
Lysander King Zion was no ordinary man; ten Orion Kennedys couldn’t compare to him.
Not only was Zion acquainted with many martial arts masters, but his father-in-law’s family was also the premier martial arts family of the Southern Coast, with the father-in-law at the peak of Great Grandmaster level.
The future son-in-law Stellan Wallace was a junior Great Grandmaster, and his master was at the Lesser Sovereign level.
Rose believed that while Flynn might match Lysander King in terms of connections, he was no match for Zion in the martial arts world.
If Harriet Hamilton’s situation angered Zion, it might provoke endless retaliation.
“Don’t worry, Zion is just one of the many ants I could easily crush,” Flynn replied disdainfully, as if Zion wasn’t worth discussing, and then added, “Since you can’t drink and are injured, you should go rest. We three will continue drinking.”
After the events of last night that stretched into the morning and the multitude of events during the day, Flynn was still energetic, even on just three hours of sleep a day.
Rose, however, was visibly tired, her eyes rimmed with dark circles and her skin slightly sallow.
“Mm, I am indeed a bit tired. There are two guest rooms here, you guys can rest here after drinking,” Rose sighed and headed upstairs.
Flynn might not fear Zion, but Zion’s father-in-law’s family was the premier martial arts family of the Southern Coast.
With five Great Grandmasters and one Lesser Sovereign, they were not to be trifled with.
But Flynn was too stubborn to heed advice.
Hopefully, Flynn wouldn’t act rashly tomorrow.
Perhaps upon meeting a major figure like Zion, he would temper his attitude.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” After watching Rose go upstairs, Flynn noticed Scarlet glaring fiercely at him.
Scarlet curled her fingers into a claw and scratched the air in front of Flynn, annoyed, “You ask Ms. Sharp if she’s tired, but don’t you care about us two at all?”
Molly, glaring fiercely at Flynn, gritted her teeth and said to Scarlet, “I wasn’t wrong, was I? This guy is a scumbag, always looking at the pot while eating from his bowl!”
“I suggest we castrate him while he sleeps!”
She rarely caught such an opportunity, and when she saw Scarlet struggling, she took the chance to twist the knife further.
Dealing with such perverts, no mercy should be shown!
Flynn only felt a chill down below and innocently said, “You two, one always staying up late, the other always suffering from insomnia, always going to sleep at two or three in the morning-this is when you’re most energetic. Is there any point in me asking?”
At those words, an awkward smile suddenly appeared on Scarlet’s face.
Flynn was indeed right; she had been a night owl before joining Orco Real Estate, especially spirited at night.
She had told Flynn about this.
But how did Flynn know about Molly’s insomnia?
Molly was also startled.
Such a private matter, how did the old pervert know? He couldn’t have been stalking her, could he?
With a resigned look, Flynn unlocked his phone and showed it to Scarlet: “It’s all over Molly’s Moments! Don’t you ever look?”
Scarlet leaned in closer.
Molly’s Moments were filled with posts about her insomnia.
“Ah! It’s 2 AM again. If this insomnia continues, I might as well move to live with the moon.”
“Does the moon also count stars when it can’t sleep?”
“Sometimes, it’s less insomnia and more like punishing myself with wakefulness.”
Her Moments were full of negativity.
Molly was taken aback, her eyes filled with an extreme discomfort.
Her Moments were private, meant only for her.
She had added Flynn in a hurry today due to an emergency, thus hadn’t had the chance to block him yet.
Now, with her secrets exposed to everyone, Molly felt at a loss.
Seeing her discomfort, Scarlet quickly pressed down on Flynn’s phone and comforted her, “Molly, insomnia is a minor issue; it’s nothing to Flynn. Let him prescribe you something, and you’ll be cured for sure.”
However, Flynn shook his head, “That won’t help. Psychological issues need psychological remedies.”
Scarlet was speechless, giving Flynn an annoyed glance.
She knew what Flynn was referring to-the incident where Molly’s senior brother had fallen off a cliff to save her.
Always bringing up what shouldn’t be mentioned, not knowing when to make things easier!
Flynn seemed unaffected. Without resolving Molly’s inner demons, she could never advance.
After all, reaching levels beyond the Great Grandmaster wasn’t just about medicine and technique.
A strong mental state was crucial for advancement!
If Molly wanted to go further, she had to confront and conquer her inner demons.
Scarlet tried to lighten the mood, lifting her glass with a laugh, “Wine is the best sleep aid. Come on, let’s drink and I guarantee you’ll be snoring in no time…”
At the table, no matter how awkward, lifting a glass could ease eighty percent of any discomfort.
Molly and Scarlet clinked glasses and drank.
“What are you sitting there for? Join us!” Scarlet nudged Flynn with her elbow when she saw he hadn’t moved.
The three of them began to drink in rounds.
After a few drinks, the conversation opened up.
Scarlet and Molly teamed up against Flynn, taking turns drinking with him.
Playing dice and bluffing.
But how could they compete with Flynn, who was never drunk? Soon, both were sprawled on the carpet, passed out.
Flynn shook his head, carrying Scarlet to the guest room bed.
As he lifted Molly, she pressed her head against his chest, rubbing like a lazy cat, a smile of contentment on her face.
Flynn didn’t mind, carrying Molly to the guest room. Just as he let go to leave, Molly suddenly grabbed his arm, her hands moving to encircle his neck, pressing her whole body against him.
“Don’t go, I’m sorry, I’ve hurt you… I’m sorry…”
Startled by Molly’s sudden action, Flynn stumbled backward.
Thud!
Flynn’s back hit the ground.
Molly fell on top of him, one leg inadvertently hitting his groin.
Flynn groaned in pain, lifting his neck slightly.
Unexpectedly, his face pressed directly into Molly’s soft chest.
His face was enveloped by it.
The scent of a young girl rushed over him, mixed with a faint smell of milk.
Flynn’s eyes glazed over, and he quickly grasped Molly’s waist, gently lifting her up to maintain a distance of a fist from her loose blouse collar.
What he saw was a surge of white and an enticing depth beyond…
