The branch of the Eight Extremities School in Niarak was annihilated; Maximo was dead, and clearly, the killer could not be from the Eight Extremities School.
That afternoon, the Black Mamba Assassins took part in the action at Northview.
The assassin who targeted Layla likely had connections with this squad.
Upon hearing this, Flynn’s first thought was of the power behind the King of Poison, the man with the black serpent tattoo.
He felt he was getting closer to the truth.
“Ms. Sharp, I took care of Braiden and Maximo for you. Aren’t you going to reward me with a few beers?” Flynn wanted to stop thinking about these matters. After coming down from Cloudgate Mountain, all he wanted was a drink.
Chilled beer.
Rose was momentarily startled, then smiled. “There will definitely be enough drinks today. I’ll go get them, and the barbecue must have cooled down by now. I’ll bring it back to heat up.”
“Hmm… and just barbecue might not be enough; I’ll cook a few more dishes!”
“Let’s take the day off tomorrow, and tonight, we’ll eat until whenever.”
The kidnapping had greatly impacted her; if Flynn hadn’t arrived on time, she and Scarlet might have met a tragic end.
Fortunately, everything was resolved. With Maximo and Braiden dead, it was like two great mountains had been lifted off her shoulders. Additionally, Mr. Rainier’s investment of five hundred billion dollars meant that joy outweighed anger today.
Thus, Rose was in a good mood and knew to rest.
“I’ve delayed everyone’s late-night snack. Ms. Sharp is still injured, let me handle it!” Molly picked up the barbecue bag and headed to the kitchen.
Scarlet followed her.
Flynn, having been at Northview, was covered in the smell of blood and took a shower in the bathroom.
When he emerged, the living room table was set with four side dishes and over a dozen plates of barbecue.
“Come, our lifesaver, take the seat of honor.” Rose opened several bottles of beer and smiled at Flynn.
Flynn, without any reservations, sat down, grabbed a bottle, and gulped it down.
In just ten seconds, a bottle of chilled beer was downed. The cold refreshing sensation spread through his organs, washing away all fatigue and discomfort, whetting his appetite.
“So, it was you who killed the King of Poison?” Molly, sipping some red wine, couldn’t help but ask.
Cruz hadn’t helped Rose; the only big shot behind the scenes could only be Flynn.
He was a Great Grandmaster and had been present at the scene where the King of Poison was killed, making it highly likely that he was the one who did it.
Flynn raised an eyebrow and replied, “Didn’t I say it wasn’t me? I told you that before!”
Molly was momentarily choked up.
Yes, she had failed to kill the King of Poison and had fallen into a coma. Upon waking up, Brady Wilson had explicitly told her that Flynn killed the King of Poison, but she did not believe it and insisted on her own version of the story.
“Did the King of Poison say whom he was working for?” Molly stared into Flynn’s eyes and asked.
Flynn peeled an oyster, dipped it in mustard, and swallowed it before saying, “He didn’t give any useful clues. He was just a lackey in there, without access to upper-level information.”
“I don’t believe it!” Molly immediately objected. “Grandfather must have given you a heads-up not to tell me anything!”
“You must know something, please tell me, it’s very important to me!”
“You’re being paranoid, not believing what anyone says!” Flynn glanced at her, visibly annoyed:
“The forces behind the King of Poison once pursued my mother. If I had any information on them, Ostrad would have collapsed by now, and I wouldn’t have time to sit here and eat barbecue with you.”
The power behind the King of Poison was not to be underestimated; if encountered in the future, it could lead to a fierce battle.
A battle that would catch the attention of Ostrad, and perhaps the world.
After all, an organization that could gather a hundred Grandmasters was undoubtedly formidable.
Otherwise, with his mother’s Greater Sovereign strength, she would have annihilated them long ago, not fleeing everywhere.
“Your mother?” Molly gasped, taken aback with surprise.
Scarlet nodded, explaining, “Molly, the person who saved your father years ago was Flynn’s mother. Both you and Flynn are victims of that power.”
“Flynn feels guilty that his mother implicated the George family, so when the Spencer family approached him, he agreed to take care of you.”
“Unfortunately, you’ve always been hostile, unwilling to believe him…”
Flynn’s mother was my father’s savior?
Molly was suddenly struck by the realization.
No wonder at the Swanson’s Group estate that day, Flynn asked so thoroughly. After understanding the relationship between Adrianna Noble and the George family, he even remarked, “She implicated the George family.”
His eyes showed regret and sorrow.
When Molly heard this, she always felt something was off, inexplicably so.
Now it all made sense.
So, Adrianna Noble was Flynn’s mother!
No wonder when she was bullied by Kendal Roy, Flynn stepped in to cure her dysmenorrhea, helped her with her spinal alignment.
He also summarized her Martial Arts weaknesses, gifted her an ancient martial arts technique, along with a prescription that enhanced Martial Arts skills.
Invaluable and precious.
It turns out Flynn was genuinely kind to her!
And yet Molly had failed him, never showing him any kindness.
Especially today, when going to rescue Rose, after Flynn scolded her, he even apologized.
That guy is stubborn; it’s not easy to get an apology from him.
But he apologized nonetheless.
When bullets flew their way, Flynn’s first reaction wasn’t to jump out of the car, but to protect her.
In an instant, Flynn’s image became nobler.
Molly felt warmth in her heart and was just about to say something apologetic when she caught Flynn’s gaze dropping to her chest!
Though it was just a brief glance, Molly noticed it.
The warmth she felt instantly flared up like burning oil.
What was Flynn playing at?
Damn it!
Here she was, moved and emotional, and he could at least play along, right?
Normally, shouldn’t she be teary-eyed next, then apologizing, with Flynn smiling and waving it off, telling her not to worry?
And this guy was sneaking a peek at her body?
Scum!
Old pervert!
In Molly’s mind, the grand image of Flynn she had just formed shrank down to a dwarf…
Flynn sensed something was off with Molly and coughed lightly, seriously saying, “Helping you was just a small effort, and besides, the George family suffered because of my mother, so you need not thank me.”
I thank your grandmother, my foot!
She had indeed intended to thank him just moments ago. Now? See this heart?
Boom! Gone!
Molly rolled her eyes, gulping down a glass of red wine, unable to suppress her rising anger.
She had thought about using this as a chance to soften towards Flynn, then ask him to rewrite the martial arts technique and ancient prescription.
But all was ruined by that sleazy glance from Flynn.
Molly was utterly speechless.
She couldn’t possibly keep a smile and ask Flynn for the techniques while knowing he took advantage of her.
Wouldn’t that be too demeaning?
Flynn continued, “The power behind the King of Poison is vast, filled with masters. I can share some information with you.”
“But you must reach the Great Grandmaster level to investigate with me.”
Molly coldly replied, “If you don’t want someone involved, just say so. I’m not even a Grandmaster yet, how am I supposed to become a Great Grandmaster?”
Flynn, however, waved his hand, skewering a piece of lamb, and said calmly, “Just master The Eighteen Forms of the Celestial Blade and combine it with Aetherium Dust, and you can become a Great Grandmaster in a month.”
“Once you prove you’re a Great Grandmaster, I’ll tell you everything.”
“Otherwise, I won’t let you go to your death for nothing!”
