“Master, the Black Mamba Assassins are confirmed dead. Could Isaac have been exposed?”
There was silence on the other end of the phone before Zion’s deep voice came through:
“The Black Mamba Assassins are among the top ten assassin organizations in the world, highly disciplined. They would rather die than reveal their employer’s information.”
“Besides, it has been five hours since the incident. If the National Security Bureau had known Isaac’s location, they would have captured him by now.”
“Let’s leave it at that for now, but still, be cautious. When contacting Isaac, ensure you are well disguised.”
“The poison will be ready in at most half a month. Once we have the antidote, kill Isaac immediately!”
In Zion’s view, the National Security Bureau was after the Black Mamba Assassins because the group had killed citizens at the border and smuggled an international fugitive into Ostrad.
He did not think beyond that.
Indeed, that was the case.
The National Security Bureau’s apprehension of the Black Mamba Assassins and Isaac was merely to ensure national security.
But Zion had not anticipated that behind this incident was a formidable demon god.
His target was not Isaac, but Zion and the entire power structure behind him!
“The esteemed guest will soon arrive in Ostrad and will come directly to Pelens. I have already ordered the Dragon’s Peak villa to be vacated.”
“What? The esteemed guest is coming?” Xavier Caldwell’s eyes instantly showed intense shock upon hearing this.
As Zion’s personal servant, he naturally knew who this “esteemed guest” was.
He remembered that the last time this guest visited Pelens was ten years ago, bringing a hundred Grandmasters for Zion to command. They moved like dragons, and their presence was so mighty it shook the heavens, almost godlike.
Just by sitting there, his aura swept across the entire Hussain family estate, making everyone tremble and unable to lift their heads.
Zion had said that this man had under him two Greater Sovereigns and ten Lesser Sovereigns, with Grandmasters as numerous as fish in a river!
However, since the hundred Grandmasters came to Niarak, the man had vanished, silent for ten years, only recently getting in touch with Zion.
Now, he was coming to Pelens again?
Such a figure’s appearance always meant a significant event was about to unfold!
“Master has been sharpening his sword for ten years, and finally, the time has come! We must fulfill his mission this time!” Xavier Caldwell couldn’t help but get excited, his face full of reverence.
“Yes! Ten years ago, I led a hundred Grandmasters to Niarak to kill Adrianna Noble, but unfortunately, she escaped.”
“Not only did we fail to obtain the heavenly punishment ring, but we also faced his scolding. We can’t afford any mistakes this time!”
“The day after tomorrow, after I handle the matter with Harriet Hamilton in Niarak, I will devote all my attention to this matter!”
“If we can satisfy him, the Hussain family will surely prosper, and no major power will dare to underestimate us!”
…
“Miss, that Flynn is too despicable, setting a trap to kill you!”
“Fortunately, they recognized you and dared not make a move, or you would have been injured today!” Kimber said indignantly, gritting her teeth.
Standing behind the small building, Layla looked at the dark forest in front of her and said coldly, “It’s more than just injuries; the strike just now was a powerful killing move. If it weren’t for my foresight, I might have been killed on the spot!”
“What?” Kimber exclaimed in shock. “Miss, is that person highly skilled in martial arts?”
Layla nodded, her expression cold as she replied, “That person is at the peak of Grandmaster level, and I suspect that Flynn and others were able to escape this afternoon because of that person’s help.”
“Miss, do you mean that the remains on the first floor were his doing?” Kimber asked, suddenly realizing.
Layla narrowed her eyes and said, “Actually, when Flynn bragged about blowing up a Semi-Grandmaster in Northview, it wasn’t to prove himself but to lure us here.”
“He won the bet. We came to Northview, which gave him the perfect opportunity.”
Kimber thought for a moment, then widened her eyes and said, “Miss, I understand!”
“You received an investment of ten billion dollars. Flynn knew Rose couldn’t win, so he wanted to kill you.”
“As long as you were dead, the tripartite alliance would pose no threat.”
Layla said coldly, “That’s right, but he wants to kill me for more than just one reason.”
“Breaking off the engagement and Braiden’s affair also provoked him, so he resorted to desperate measures!”
“Alas! I thought even if Flynn was a habitual liar, he would have some limits, but I didn’t expect him to stoop so low, emulating Braiden!”
Upon hearing this, Kimber exploded in rage, cursing loudly, “Despicable! Shameless! Filthy! Sinister! Disgusting!”
“Miss, we must dismember that bastard! He doesn’t deserve to live!”
Layla was her mistress, her companion since childhood, and the one who elevated her status in the eyes of others.
Over the years, everyone treated her with respect because she was Layla’s servant.
Without Layla, Kimber wouldn’t have witnessed such grandeur, nor would she have gained such prestige!
And now Flynn wanted to assassinate Layla!
How could this be tolerated?
Kimber, greatly agitated, furiously kicked the stones and sand on the ground, cursing and venting her rage.
“Hmm? What’s this?” Kimber kicked a crumpled paper and frowned.
It was normal to kick up an object in the back mountain, given that this area was once the Riverwood Clinic.
But the paper was too new, sparking her curiosity.
“The Eighteen Forms of the Celestial Blade? Aetherium Dust? What are these?” Kimber glanced at the paper, ready to discard it as trash.
“What? Don’t throw it away!” Layla quickly intervened, snatching the crumpled paper and examining it closely, exclaiming as if she had found a treasure:
“The Eighteen Forms of the Celestial Blade is an ancient martial arts technique, and Aetherium Dust is an ancient medical recipe. Together, they can quickly enhance Martial Arts!”
“I never imagined I’d find such a treasure here!”
Even the strong-willed Layla was shaken, her hands trembling uncontrollably.
It was no wonder she reacted this way.
Any martial artist finding this paper would be incoherently excited.
Because The Eighteen Forms of the Celestial Blade was immensely powerful, capable of surging one’s vitality like rivers and fortifying the body like steel walls.
And Aetherium Dust was even more terrifying; consuming it could cleanse and fortify the bones and enhance inner energy.
Together, they could elevate one’s Martial Arts by several levels!
“Is it really… really that miraculous?” Kimber asked incredulously.
Staring at the text on the paper, Layla continued in awe, “Yes, but we still need to check some books and ask my master!”
“If it’s real, reaching Great Grandmaster is just around the corner!”
“Let’s hurry back!”
Carefully, Layla placed the paper in her pocket, looking reverently at the mountains, thinking respectfully, “Whoever left this paper, I, Layla, owe them for life.”
After saying this, she couldn’t hide her excitement and headed down the mountain.
Seeing Layla so moved, Kimber’s eyes shone with excitement.
Layla’s name was well-known in the medical field, even internationally renowned.
But in the world of Martial Arts, she was just a bit short.
If her mistress could become a Great Grandmaster, combining medicine and martial arts, her name would resonate through the Nine Realms, ascend to the top echelon of Ostrad’s exceptional talents, enter the top five of the Hidden Dragon Ranking, and stand alongside geniuses seen once in hundreds of years.
What achievements she could reach then, Kimber dared not imagine.
Ordinary people would only have to worship her.
Even someone like Yves Yancey would have to take another look at her!
Thinking this, Kimber couldn’t help comparing Flynn and Layla.
Both were 28, yet how vast was the difference between them?
One’s reputation and strength visibly soared, soon to transform from a dazzling star to a moon illuminating the Nine Realms.
The other, self-degraded into a despicable, shameless, sinister liar and trash!
How could I even compare Flynn to my mistress?
One is the moon in the sky; the other, a struggling ant on the ground. Is there any comparison?
That would be an insult to my mistress!
I’m cursing her by doing so!
