The giant beast looked at the crowd with hostility, clearly still holding a grudge from being trapped by the Array Talisman last time.
“Tsk tsk, you finally showed up!” Stout wiped his mouth as he looked at the beast. “Your beast core must be quite the delicacy, right?”
“Mr. Billy, take everyone back!” The Scholar instructed Billy.
“Alright!” Billy nodded and led the group a kilometer away.
Howl!
The beast roared again, leaping into the air and charging towards The Scholar and his companions, its massive body blocking out the sun.
“Attack!”
Tommy shouted and waved his hand, sending two spears formed from Chi power flying towards the beast’s eyes.
Annalise unleashed her full strength, sending a sword energy tearing through the air towards the beast’s gaping mouth.
The Scholar didn’t stay idle either. Instead of retreating, he advanced quickly, flashing beneath the beast and slashing a sharp blade from its neck to its tail.
The three first-rank Supreme Ancestry Realm experts attacked with full force. Even though the beast’s physical resistance was comparable to the early stages of the Supreme Ancestry Realm, it still suffered greatly.
Tommy’s spears exploded on the beast’s eyelids, causing them to crack and bleed, though they didn’t damage its eyes. Annalise’s sword left a gash on its face, even though the beast slightly dodged at the last moment. The most severe injury was on its abdomen, where The Scholar’s blade left a long gash, exposing its weakness.
Although the wound wasn’t deep enough to damage its internal organs, it significantly impacted its combat ability.
Howl!
The beast roared in pain and charged madly, turning trees and rocks into dust in its path.
“Let’s avoid it for now!” Tommy shouted.
The three of them dodged the beast’s attacks instead of confronting it head-on. The beast was bleeding continuously and couldn’t sustain its strength for long.
After a few minutes of rampaging, the beast roared again and darted towards the forest on the right.
“Don’t let it escape!”
Tommy shouted and chased after it, followed by The Scholar and Annalise at full strength.
The beast’s combat power had dropped to less than seventy percent, and its physical resistance had weakened. Under the combined attacks of Tommy and his companions, it lasted only a few minutes before The Scholar’s blade decapitated it.
Its heavy body fell into a giant pit on the ground and lay there lifeless.
“Are you all okay?” Billy asked as he led the group over.
“We’re fine!” The three of them shook their heads.
“This beast was terrifying. It took all three of you working together so long to bring it down!” Felicia said with lingering fear.
“Indeed!” White Tiger nodded in agreement.
“I wonder if there are more beasts of this level in the Silent Ruins Sky Realm. If a few more appear, we might have to retreat to the Nine Dragons Cauldron Space.”
Although Casey and the others didn’t speak, their faces were solemn. If that were the case, they would have no choice but to hide in the Nine Dragons Cauldron Space; their skills were still too weak.
“Tsk tsk, I’ve never seen such a large beast core!” Stout exclaimed dramatically as he returned, holding a large, bloody black object in his hands.
“Damn, is that its beast core? It’s huge!” Bob cursed in surprise.
Billy and the others stared at the beast core in astonishment. Regardless of its energy content, its size alone dwarfed any other beast core they had seen before.
“Mr. Billy, this beast core contains strong energy. If you refine it, you should easily break through to the Holy Ancestry Realm!” The Scholar said after examining it briefly.
“Really?” Stout’s eyes lit up as he looked at Billy. “Boss, want to give it a try?”
“Let’s keep it for now and move on,” Billy replied after some thought. He had just broken through two levels recently; advancing too quickly might not be beneficial.
The group continued forward.
By late morning the next day, they arrived at the entrance of a small town.
Finally, they saw people!
They looked around and saw a few people walking along the town’s streets-men, women, old folks, and children. Most of them seemed no different from people in other cities; some were shopping, some were running shops, and children were playing around. The whole town looked like a peaceful and quiet village with nothing unusual about it.
“Boss, can you sense their cultivation levels?” White Tiger asked Billy.
“No,” Billy shook his head. He had already tried to probe with his spiritual power covering the entire town but sensed no martial aura from anyone.
“I can’t sense anything either,” The Scholar added.
“Could they be non-martial artists?” Judge wondered aloud.
“Who knows?” Soul Chaser replied.
“Let’s go in and take a look,” Billy said. “Be careful!”
He led the group into the town.
Seeing them, the townspeople stopped what they were doing and looked over with curious expressions. It seemed like they hadn’t seen outsiders for a long time and were naturally curious about so many unfamiliar faces appearing at once.
“Ladies and gentlemen, are you from the outside world?”
A young girl with a ponytail approached them. She looked about ten years old.
“Yes!” Felicia smiled and asked, “Girl, can we ask you about someone?”
“Sure!” The girl extended her right hand. “But you have to give me something tasty!”
“Tasty?” Felicia was taken aback. “I came in a hurry and didn’t bring anything tasty. Maybe next time…”
“You’re lying!” The girl responded.
“I’m not lying. I never lie. Next time…” Felicia said with a twitching mouth.
“There won’t be a next time!” The girl said seriously. “Because anyone who comes in from outside either dies or disappears; they can’t go out and come back in again!”
“Uh…” Everyone was stunned.
“You don’t have anything tasty, but he does. Let him give it to me,” the girl pointed at Stout and Felicia said.
“Girl, you must be mistaken. I’m broke and empty-handed; I don’t have anything tasty,” Stout replied.
“You’re lying too!” The girl pouted. “Why do you outsiders like to lie so much? You’re not honest at all!”
“I’m not lying; I really don’t have anything tasty!” Stout insisted.
“But your storage ring is full of delicious Spirit Fruits. How can you say you don’t have anything? Isn’t that lying?” The girl continued.
“Hmm?!” Hearing this, everyone’s pupils contracted slightly, including Billy’s.
She could actually see inside Stout’s storage ring?!
