Today was not a special day. Why would someone send her flowers out of the blue?
Xiao Xu came over to count the number of flowers.
“51 roses.” Xiao Xu thought seriously and then whispered, “In the language of flowers, 51 roses seem to signify ‘you are alone in my heart.'”
Then he looked up at Rosiley and asked in a gossipy manner, “sister Rosiley, are these from your boyfriend?”
“Boyfriend?” Rosiley frowned. She had no boyfriend, only a husband, and her husband would not have sent her flowers for no reason. It was even more unlikely for him to have sent her such vulgar flowers.
Seeing the complete bafflement on her face, Xiao Xu raised his eyebrows. “Could it be from a suitor?”
That was even more unlikely!
Rosiley put the flowers aside casually and looked up at Xiao Xu with a slight smile. “Is your report ready?”
Xiao Xu started. “Not yet.”
“Then go and complete it.”
Rosiley picked up a file on the table and made as if to hit him. Xiao Xu was so startled that he flinched backwards. He mollified her with a smile. “Okay, I’ll write it now.”
With that, he quickly scampered back to his seat.
Xiao Xu was a nice boy, but he was too gossipy and talkative. He was not like a man at all.
Rosiley shook her head with a helpless smile. Then her eyes fell on the bouquet of flowers. Her slender brows were furrowed slightly. Who on earth had sent these to her?
This question was not answered until she knocked off and saw a familiar figure as she walked out of the building.
“It’s Yunis!”
Rosiley heard someone gasp in surprise. Her eyes flashed and she pretended not to have seen the man, walking away directly.
But how could that man let her leave so easily?
“Rosiley.” Seeing her walk to the other side, the man strode over and blocked her way.
She could not avoid what was to come!
Rosiley pursed her lips and raised her head to observe him. Her expression was so cold that she seemed to be watching a complete stranger.
“Yunis, why are you here?” she asked in cold and severe voice.
Her frosty attitude caused a flicker of displeasure to flash across Yunis’s eyes. She had always been so docile with him in the past, her eyes full of adoration and love, but there was nothing in them now but coldness.
He felt very displeased over this.
But he still gave her a genial smile. his voice as gentle as before. “I’m here to see you. I sent you flowers, do you like them?”
So they were indeed from him.
Rosiley snickered and said rudely, “I threw them into the trash.”
Thrown them away? Yunis’s eyes flashed with coldness, but his gaze soon regained its former deep affection. “If you don’t like roses, I can send you other flowers.”
Rosiley frowned slightly. “Yunis, what do you mean by this?”
“I’m trying to win back your heart.”
This totally unexpected and shameless answer made Rosiley burst out laughing. “Yunis, I’ve seen many shameless men, but no one as shameless as you.”
Yunis’s complexion changed color. “Rosiley, you… ”
“I what?” Rosiley crossed her arms over her chest and lifted her chin slightly, staring at him fearlessly.
The corners of her lips curled up coldly, her brows full of derision. “Yunis, aren’t you trying to win back my heart? So why did your complexion change when you heard me say that? How can you show your sincerity?”
Hearing this, Yunis quickly resumed his former genial expression, explaining in an anxious voice, “Rosiley, I was just agitated.”
“Agitated?” Rosiley sneered. “Then you are easily made agitated.”
