Book:Hidden Wife Of The Cold CEO Published:2024-10-15

The past few days had been a blur for Ruby. She had thoroughly enjoyed her time in Russia and it was a shame she and Jaxon would leave soon.
Aside from that, she had thoroughly enjoyed her time with Jaxon, she thought with a blush. He had introduced her to the wonderful world of sex, she couldn’t seem to get enough of it.
Neither could he as it seemed. Sometimes she felt he was more excited even though she was the one who had been a virgin and was still new to everything.
She recalled all they had done and thought of the times they had taken huge risks to have sex in public. There was a particular moment he had convinced her to do it in the pool and they had almost gotten caught by one of the staff.
After that incident, he had changed the policy and told the staff to come only in the mornings and evenings.
Ruby glanced at the clock and it read 5: 30am. She and Jaxon would leave at 6:30 for an early morning flight then touchdown in New York late afternoon. She had glanced at the clock at least half a dozen times in the last hour. Jaxon had gotten ready thirty minutes prior and was waiting for her. She knew he hated being late so she tried to hurry herself as much as possible.
They left not long after and the car ride to the private air strip and everything else until they boarded had seemed to fly by. It was after they had boarded that Jaxon struck up a conversation with her.
“Did you enjoy your time here?” Jaxon asked her. He hadn’t looked at her when he asked. His head was still buried in his laptop.
“I did. Very much.” Ruby answered truthfully.
“Where else would you like to travel to?” His question surprised her because she hadn’t expected him to be curious. Especially since she wasn’t sure where their relationship was at.
“I would love to go to Japan one day,” Ruby told him.
“Anywhere else?”
“Umm… Oh, Italy! How could I forget.” Going to Italy had been one of her dreams since she had been a child and she would jump at the opportunity to go if she could.
“Hmm.” Jaxon mumbled but didn’t respond. His eyes were still glued to his computer screen and he seemed busy so she didn’t bother him.
He had been different these past few days.
He had been more affectionate but that could be equated to them being intimate with each other. He’d spent time with her and taken her sightseeing as well as shopping. It was like they had gone on vacation.
A couple of hours into the flight, they both ordered something to eat. Well she ordered while
Jaxon just asked for whatever she ordered to be brought for him as well. She hadn’t eaten much before leaving so she was positively starving when they hadn’t even gone half way through the flight. She had a big brunch and with nothing to do after she took a much needed nap.
She didn’t wake up until one hour before landing, and even then, Jaxon was the one who woke her up in case she wanted to freshen up before they landed.
Time seemed to fly as she did just that and not much later they touched down. The air had long since changed from the chilly and damp atmosphere she had grown accustomed to, to the warm weather of New York. She had enjoyed her stay in Russia but she had missed New York.
The drive back home was peaceful and Ruby found herself watching the cars and buildings as they passed while Jaxon worked. They pulled up at the house and when they came down from the car, she saw some of the guards were outside. She stopped completely and turned her full attention to them, not because of Ruslan or any of the others but because Lucas was there.
Her eyes watered at the sight of him. He looked a bit pale but overall he was a thousand times better than when she last saw him. That was when she had patched him up after he was shot and since then, she hadn’t been able to see him afterwards. Her eyes roamed over him and particularly his left arm. He no longer had a cast which was good. He had on sweats which meant he wasn’t working yet.
She rushed over to him but when she was about to give him a hug, Jaxon came out of nowhere and held her back.
“Jaxon, not this again.” She whispered when he pulled her to the side.
“Look, I’m just going to talk to him for a few minutes, nothing more.” Ruby told him. Jaxon looked to be in a good mood and let her hand go.
“How are you doing?” She asked Lucas when she walked back up to him.
“Like new.”
“And your arm?” Lucas rotated his arm then shook it slowly.
“It’s getting better, and I heard it’s mostly thanks to you.” He said.
“I was just helping out.” She replied.
“Are you doing okay?” Lucas asked her after he gave a quick glance in Jaxon’s direction.
“I’m fine.” She was. She turned and caught a glimpse of Jaxon who watched them like a hawk.
“So are you resuming work soon?” She was curious as to why he had come out today especially if he wasn’t working yet.
“No, not for another couple of weeks.” He told her then looked at Ruslan.
“I’m going to stop our conversation here before I end up six feet under.” Lucas told her. He gestured towards Jaxon who was glaring now before he gave her a nod and then walked off.
“Enjoying yourself?” Jaxon breathed out after Lucas left.
“Why? Are you jealous?” She asked with a smile
“Don’t go near another man like that again.” He warned. She shrugged him off since this wasn’t the first time he’d told her that.
“You still haven’t answered my question.” She muttered then he sighed.
“Yes, are you happy now? Don’t think you are going scot free because you’re getting punished.”
