Kim hadn’t expected Damon to be angry or at least not this angry. His mouth was twisted into a hard line and he was glaring at her so hard that she wanted to find a corner to hide in. But then she decided against such a thought.
Why should she be the one to hide when he was the one who had done something wrong and he didn’t even seem remorseful about getting caught.
“Just what the hell is wrong with you! Why would you do that?” He yelled and that earned several alarmed looks from other hotel guests.
“Why wouldn’t I do that huh, I found you here cozying up with some other woman when I had been trying to reach you all day, or did you forget I was coming?” Kim asked him. Her heart was pounding wildly as she stared at him, she hadn’t been this angry in a while.
“Of course I didn’t forget you were coming and the last time I checked, we weren’t in a relationship,” he stated bluntly. Kim couldn’t believe what she was hearing. He was here trying to justify being caught with another woman by saying they weren’t together.
“We are together and I don’t appreciate you taking me for granted like this.” Kim told him. What made her angrier was the way he was looking at her like she was talking nonsense. She wanted to say something else when he cut in.
“I think you’ve got this whole relationship thing mixed up Kimberly” he started. He stared at her intently then continued.
“Listen carefully. When we got together, didn’t I tell you I wasn’t looking for anything serious and that we should be in an open relationship?” He asked expectantly. That silenced Kim as she thought. She did remember that they had talked about that during their first time together but she hadn’t taken it that serious.
She didn’t think he was the type to jump from woman to woman and with no evidence of him being with someone else, she had safely assumed he had said so to keep her at arms length. Now she was being told he had been serious after all.
“But I thought-”
“There is no but.” He cut in sharply.
“You didn’t think about anything at all and just rushed to drive the lady away.”
“I had also told you to take it or leave it if you weren’t up for that kind of relationship but you said otherwise. Now here we are so what’s wrong with you? Did you suddenly get it in your head that I was your boyfriend or something?” Damon was firing question after question at her and she didn’t know how to respond to any of them.
She hadn’t expected to be at the butt of their argument since she usually triumphed in situations like this.
“Well, are you going to say anything?” Damon asked impatiently. He was breathing hard through his nose and Kim thought he looked ready to explode at the slightest provocation.
Kim swallowed nervously, then said.
“I didn’t think you were serious about not having an open relationship.”
She told him and he frowned.
“I said I didn’t want anything serious with you so how did you equate that to me not being actually serious about it?” He asked her, then waited for her answer.
“Well this is the first time I’m seeing you with someone else.” Damon laughed at her words and shook his head.
“Correction, this is the first time you happened to see me with someone else. It wasn’t the first time.” He stated. She frowned at his words but she knew she couldn’t do anything because she had agreed to this in the beginning. Her plans would have to be put on hold until she could get him to solely be with her.
“Well I didn’t know.”
“You didn’t need to.”
“And let me warn you, this should be the last time you try something like this again. If you see me with someone else, kindly look elsewhere. I won’t be mad if you sleep with someone else since we are nothing serious, clear? You’re just one of the women I’m seeing, nothing else.” He told her.
“Clear.” She replied, but she didn’t mean it and would not be keeping to what she said.
“Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go.” He told her then started walking away.
“But why, I just got here.” She stated.
“Are you seriously asking me that?” He stopped and she almost crashed into his back at how close she was to him.
“Let me spell it out for you. Your little stunt has ruined my mood for the day and I don’t even want to be here anymore, talk less of looking at you and touching you.” He told her.
“I’m sorry I-” she tried to apologize but he was already out of the bar.
She followed him as fast as the heels she wore would carry her, but it was of no use. He was fast and she quickly lost sight of him.
Just then, she saw the same woman he had been talking to in the bar sitting in the lounge. Kim saw red again and decided to approach the woman. It was all the woman’s fault Damon was angry with her and she didn’t know what was left of their arrangement any longer.
She walked up to her and sat down on the opposite chair.
“Hi.” The woman looked at her before replying.
“Hello.”
“I just wanted to ask you, how long have you known Damon?” Kim asked.
“I just met him at the bar and he struck up a conversation. I didn’t know he was with you.” The woman explained.
“What’s your name?” She asked sweetly. Kim played the part of the hurt girlfriend well and waited.
“Lana.”
“Well Lana, let this be the last time I catch you with him or you will not like me.” She spat with words laced in venom. She showed her claws now which shocked Lana as her eyes flashed.
“Listen carefully you whore, if he ever talks to you again, tell him you have a boyfriend. Understand?”
“I- I understand.” Lana nodded as a smirk played on Kimberly’s lips.
