“Are we not there yet dammit!” Jaxon angrily shouted and the air hostess shivered in fear as she placed a glass of whiskey before him.
“We’ll be there in an hour’s time.” She said with a professional smile and Jaxon felt like wiping the stupid smile off her face. His jaw clenched in annoyance as he glared at her.
“What are you waiting for? Get out!” She jumped in fright and hurriedly walked out of the cabin.
He gulped down the drink and started tapping his feet impatiently. He felt his heart beat widely as so many scenarios kept playing in his head.
He didn’t know what condition Ruby would be in and he felt annoyed at himself for leaving her alone.
He felt stupid for believing Mikhail without confirming the authenticity of the news he gave him.
He knew the kind of person Nikolai was so why did he believe that he would ever let her go?
He felt scared. He was scared that he might be too late. What would he do if he found her hurt or worse dead before he got there? He felt like ripping out the hearts of all the people that were involved in kidnapping Ruby.
She was an ordinary girl that never knew a world like this existed and now because of him she has been dragged into this mess.
The plane landed and he hurriedly made his way off along with his bodyguards.
Three black SUV’s were waiting for them and without waiting for his guards he entered the first car and sped out of the airport.
For the first time in a long time Jaxon prayed. He prayed for Ruby to be okay. He didn’t know what he would do if something happened to her but he was damn sure it wouldn’t be pretty.
Jaxon angrily parked his car in front of Mikhail’s vacation home and stomped into the building. He angrily pushed the door and it banged loudly as he walked into the living room.
Mikhail was seated at the bar with a glass of whiskey before him, he turned when he heard the sound of the door and grinned as he stared at Jaxon’s disheveled state.
Jaxon looked like a mess, his hair was going in random directions due to him running his hands through them and pulling them during the flight, his shirt was unbuttoned and his jacket looked wrinkled.
“I see the lover boy has finally arrived.” He smirked.
Jaxon glared at him with hatred shining in his eyes.
“Where is she?” Jaxon breathed out.
“You look like a mess my friend. What you need right now is a mirror.” Mikhail said and took a sip of his whiskey.
“Stop playing around and tell me where you hid her, Mikhail.” Jaxon groaned.
“Don’t waste your breath here, save it for when her body gets delivered to you.” Jaxon jumped in anger and started landing blows on his face.
“Damn man. That was Nikolai’s words not mine” Mikhail winced in pain.
“And I won’t tell you unless you trade something of equal value. I mean you love her right buddy, so it shouldn’t be a problem for you to sacrifice for your love right?” Mikhail smirked.
“Just tell me where she is for goodness sake.” Jaxon groaned in annoyance as he glared at Mikhails smiling face.
“No. You know the nature of this job and yet you foolishly fell in love with that weak girl. She is so pathetic that she couldn’t even protect herself and look at you, running all the way here like a dog searching for its master.” Jaxon felt his blood boil in anger as he grabbed his collar and roughly dragged him to his feet.
“Are you sure you are cut out for this? Cause it looks like your love story might remain incomplete if you’re going to continue being so careless.” Jaxon pinched the bridge of his nose as Mikhail taunted him with a huge smile on his face.
“A celibate man and a betrayer’s daughter, what a wonderful pair. Do you mind if I marry the sister?” Mikhail laughed.
“I heard Nose surgeries are very painful and the recovery time is very long. Do you want to experience it first hand or would you be a darling and take me to my wife?” Jaxon smirked at Mikhail who glared back at him.
“I hate you!” He exclaimed. Mikhail stood up and winced in pain as he led Jaxon to a door at the end of his hallway.
Mikhail groaned in annoyance as they stood before the locked door. He glared at Jaxon as he brought the keys out of his pockets and handed them to him.
“You have to fucking pay for my treatment before you walk out of this house with your wife.”
Mikhail groaned as he touched his swollen cheeks.
“Ouch… did you have to be so harsh? I think you broke something.” Mikhail whined and Jaxon felt like flinging him across the room as he fiddled with the key.
“Get the fuck out of my sight and go get treated.” Jaxon angrily replied.
Ruby was tied to a chair and a dimly lit room. Tears were streaming down her face as she struggled with the restraints on her hands and feet.
She cried in pain as she felt the rope cut her skin and the metallic scent of blood reached her nose, she tried to scream through the gag and stopped struggling.
She felt scared and suffocated. She didn’t know where she was, how she got there or who brought her and her heart was beating rapidly in her chest as she cried.
She felt weak and her whole body shivered in fear as she heard loud footsteps walking towards her and she felt like she was suffocating as fear gripped her whole being.
She felt like she couldn’t breathe and her eyes widened as she struggled to breathe through her mouth, she could hear her heartbeat in her ears and at that moment she wished she was back at home in the warm embrace of Jaxon.
She wanted to see him so badly and be held comfortably in his arms. She felt her eyes closing as her consciousness slowly started to drift away.
She didn’t know if it was her desperate mind coming up with a trick to console her troubled heart but she heard a familiar voice laced with anger and the sounds of feet running towards her as her eyes finally closed.
