“Where are we going?” Ruby asked in a hushed tone after they walked away from a fuming June. She was really impressed with the look on her face.
“Okay let’s go get you a ring.” Jaxon said and Ruby’s eyes widened in surprise as she stared at him like he just grew an extra head.
“Why do you want to get it now?” she glared at him.
“Why are you looking at me like that? Let’s go.” Jaxon smirked instead.
“I just asked you a question Jaxon. Why do you want to get it now?” Ruby tilted her head to the side and Jaxon replied with a mischievous smile, he shook his head with an impatient look on his face and picked her up bridal style.
Ruby gasped as she wrapped her hands around his neck. Her cheeks heated up as they passed the workers on their way out and she pinched Jaxon’s chest in annoyance as he stopped to answer their greetings.
He groaned and glared down at her.
“Stop making this even more embarrassing for me and walk faster.” Ruby groaned as she shyly hid her face in his chest.
Jaxon felt like playing with her rosy cheeks. He hurriedly walked to the car and Ruslan immediately opened the door for them.
Jaxon entered the car with Ruby still in his arms and after he told Ruslan their destination he started the car.
“Can you let me go now?” Ruby looked up into his eyes, Jaxon leaned down and pecked her lips.
“Ruslan can see us.” Ruby whispered softly and tried to wiggle out of his embrace.
“And he’ll be getting some action too if you don’t stop moving that sexy ass.” Jaxon whispered in her ears and Ruby felt her whole body shudder in delight.
“You are shameless.” Ruby groaned and sat down beside him.
“You wound me with your words Gem.” Jaxon grinned and Ruby just rolled her eyes.
The car stopped in front of a beautiful jewelry shop with a red board that had Cartier boldly written in gold italics.
Ruslan opened the door for them and Jaxon got down first, he stretched his hand for Ruby and she shyly placed her hand in his, she got down from the car and with their hands intertwined they walked into the shop.
Ruby’s eyes widened as she stared at all the beautiful jewelry in the shop.
They walked to the counter and met with a beautiful brunette who smiled at them.
“Welcome to our store, how can I help you?” She asked sweetly while looking at their intertwined hands.
“I want the most beautiful diamond wedding rings you have and a necklace too.” The receptionist beamed as she brought several boxes and arranged them on the counter.
Ruby was stunned as she stared at all the beautiful rings before her, just when she thought it couldn’t get better the lady brought about five diamond necklaces and she felt mesmerized by their beauty.
Jaxon looked at Ruby’s facial expression and smiled. He saw how her eyes were going from one ring to another until it stopped on one. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she stared at it and Jaxon knew that he had found the one.
“I’d like to get this ring in size 8 along with this necklace.” Jaxon pointed at the ring and a the necklace studded with diamonds and Ruby stared at him in shock.
“Would you like to try them out? We have a room at the back.” The receptionist smiled politely as she pointed at a door by the left.
Jaxon passed her his card and her eyes widened when she saw the black card. She immediately scanned the items and swiped the card.
She packaged them happily in their boxes and placed them in a red paper bag that had the company’s name written on it.
“Thanks for your patronage. We are so happy to have you.” The receptionist passed the bag and card to Jaxon.
Jaxon nodded and walked towards the room with a stunned Ruby following behind.
He helped her sit on the black leather couch that was in the room and sat beside her. He held both her hands in his and gently squeezed them.
“I’m so sorry for not giving you a ring on time. When everything started it was just for show and I never saw the importance of getting you a ring. I never thought that I would care so deeply for you… I never knew I could care for anyone other than my grandfather but you swooped in and changed everything and I couldn’t be more glad.”
Ruby stared at Jaxon with shock written clearly on her face and she blinked her eyes several times to see if she was imagining all this.
She couldn’t believe what she was hearing and she felt like her mind was playing a trick on her.
“You were a change i never knew I needed Ruby and I know that this past week you have been getting mixed signals from me and the fact that I’ve never confessed my real feelings for you must have made you feel insecure and hurt.” Jaxon smiled sadly as he brought his right hand up and tenderly cupped her cheeks.
Ruby felt speechless as she stared into Jaxon’s eyes. She saw some emotions swirling in his eyes and her eyes widened at the clear tenderness and pure devotion clearly visible on his face.
She felt like she couldn’t contain all the joy that she felt in that moment and tears started gathering in her eyes.
Jaxon reached into the bag and brought out the wedding ring box. He opened it and brought out the ring.
He held her soft hands and slid the beautiful ring on her finger. He placed a soft kiss on the knuckles and Ruby felt a tear slid down her face.
Jaxon smiled and wiped the tears with his thumb. He cupped her cheek and they both started leaning forward.
Their lips locked and Ruby felt like she was in a romantic movie set at that moment.
She was overwhelmed with joy as she felt the weight of the ring on her fingers and the raw emotions that Jaxon was trying to convey through his kisses.
His phone started ringing and they slowly pulled away from the kiss. He brought his phone out of his pocket and Mikhail was displayed on the screen. He let out a low growl. The bastard was really a pain in the neck, but when Mikhail called, it was for something important.
“Excuse me for a moment Gem.” Jaxon whispered and walked away from her.
