Jaxon closed the file and turned to face June with annoyance clear on his face.
“What was that about?” Jaxon asked.
June shrugged her shoulders and smiled sweetly at him. Jaxon sighed and released his arm from her grip.
“What do you mean?” June innocently blinked her eyes, and started running her hands on his arm.
“Stop with the inappropriate touching before I lose my temper June. Focus on the work that brought you here and put some space between us please.” Jaxon said coldly and passed the file to her.
June felt displeased as she collected the file and dropped it beside her bag.
“I’ve gone through your proposal and it’s really nice. My assistant will reach out to you within the week and schedule another meeting.” Jaxon stood up to leave and she immediately held onto his hands.
“Why are you in a hurry to leave?” June pouted her lips and ran her hands over his chest.
“Won’t you offer me something to drink? That’s cold even for you Jaxon.” She sensually pushed her boobs to his chest and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Jaxon felt irritated as the scent of her perfume made him feel nauseous. He hated the feel of her hands on his body and pushed her off.
June tripped and fell face down on the couch. She felt enraged at the clear rejection and her blood boiled as she angrily stood up.
“You are here for business only June and it’s done, you can go get a drink elsewhere and keep your hands to yourself. I don’t appreciate you touching me…if you love your hands keep them to yourself or else!” Jaxon coldly said and glared at her.
“Why do you keep pushing me away? I only want to spend some time with you is that so bad?” June angrily said and Jaxon sucked his front teeth in annoyance.
“You can show yourself out June.” Jaxon turned and walked away.
He stood in front of Ruby’s room and tried to open the door but it was locked from inside, he sighed and gently knocked on the door.
Ruby glared at the door in anger as she heard the knocks and scoffed in disbelief.
“Ruby I know you can hear me.” Jaxon said and knocked on the door.
“Open the door Ruby.” Jaxon pleaded.
“Go away!” Ruby yelled angrily.
“Come on Ruby, stop being childish and open the door.” Jaxon said and Ruby rolled her eyes.
“I’m being childish for locking my room? You can go talk to June. I don’t want to see your face!” Ruby yelled angrily.
“Stop all this and open the door Ruby or I’ll break it down.” Jaxon warned.
He was starting to get annoyed and he hated the feeling of being rejected and disobeyed.
“I don’t want to see you Jaxon. Leave.” Ruby replied and Jaxon banged the door.
Ruby flinched as Jaxon started kicking the door with all his might. The door succumbed to his strength and fell with a loud thud.
Ruby’s eyes widened as she looked between the broken door and Jaxon who was staring at her with an intense look in his eyes.
“Why did you do that? Can’t I live in peace anymore? First you lied to me, insulted me and now you even go as far as bringing your lover into our home so why are you here?” Ruby angrily said as she stood by the foot of the bed.
“You said you hated bringing people into your home but when I saw you, you looked very comfortable sitting there as she touched all over your body like she owned it.” Ruby felt her blood boil as Jaxon just kept looking at her without saying a word.
“You are despicable Jaxon. After enjoying your time with your lover you have the nerve to come here and break down my door…what do you want from me?” Ruby angrily ranted as she looked at him with all the betrayal and pain she could muster.
“She is not my lover and nothing happened between us, where did you get all these ideas from?” Jaxon calmly asked and tried to hold her hands but she stepped aside and looked away from him.
“Stay away from me Jaxon.” Ruby warned.
“Ruby, let me explain,” Jaxon whispered softly.
“No! You don’t have anything to say, stay the fuck away from me Jaxon I’ve heard and seen enough what more do you possible have to say?” Ruby felt hurt as she stared deep into Jaxon’s eyes.
“Was your mouth sealed shut when she was touching you right before my eyes? Were you blind when your lover was taunting me? Where was the strength you used in breaking my door when your lover was running her hands all over your body?” Ruby yelled and Jaxon ran his hands through his hair.
“Would you allow me to explain? June was here to talk about a business deal and I asked her to come here because I didn’t want to leave you alone and go to the office!” Jaxon yelled in anger and Ruby glared at him.
“Excuses! Flimsy excuses, that’s all you have. I don’t need your fucking excuses Jaxon you can do whatever you want after all it is your life, you can do anything you want with it. Be it bringing your lovers home or lying to my face” Ruby yelled and stomped out of the room.
Jaxon stared at her retreating back in shock and her words kept ringing in his mind.
Did she really mean what she said or is she just hurt? Why won’t she just listen to me? I have never had to explain anything to anyone and no one dared to question me but Ruby has done it countless times now. Why am I so lenient with her?. Jaxon felt confused as he thought about all this while standing in the middle of Ruby’s room alone.
Ruby felt stupid as she hid in the guest bathroom down the hall. She stood before the mirror and tears started streaming down her face.
She felt like a huge block had been placed on her chest as she cried to ease the pain she was feeling.
