Chapter 65
Warm sunlight filtered through the bedroom window and Jaxon found himself enjoying it. The view was nice and there was no noise from traffic since it was still quite early.
It was just past seven but he was fully dressed and would head to work in a bit. He wasn’t like some people who whiled away their time by lying in bed. He lived strictly by the motto that the early bed gets the worm.
He was still looking out the window when he heard the door slam and the soft pad of footsteps approached him.
He turned around to reprimand Ruby for entering without knocking but all thoughts left his head at the sight of her. He felt his throat close up and he couldn’t get any words out. He was thankful he still had the self control to not gape at her.
She had just woken up and had come straight to his bedroom. He wasn’t exaggerating. Her dark hair fell around her like a shawl and her eyes were still a bit glazed from sleep. She still had her waking up face which consisted of pouty lips and a flushed face.
But what really got him going was her night gown. It was a flimsy silk material that stopped above her knees. It had thin straps which gave him a great view of her neck and chest. The off-white color of the gown also made her look whimsical, like something out of a fairytale book.
He stared at her to his satisfaction before saying,
“Don’t you know entering without knocking isn’t proper?” He asked her. A twinge of colour appeared on her cheeks and she gave him a sheepish smile.
“I’m sorry, I just really wanted to see you.” She replied. Over the past few days, she had gotten back to normal but it still nagged him that he couldn’t find out the cause of her change of mood that day.
“What for?” All sorts of thoughts were clouding his mind as he looked at her. Could she be here for what he was thinking?
“I want to go shopping.” Ruby stated and he frowned.
“Why? You can just order what you want online and it will be delivered to you,” he suggested instead. There was no way he was letting her go out when it was still dangerous for her.
“No, it’s not the same. I actually want to see and touch what I’m buying before I pay for it. Besides, I get bored so I’d much rather shop physically to keep myself entertained.” Ruby explained to him. He shook his head at her then said,
“No, it’s not safe and I’d be damned if I put you in danger.” He stated fiercely.
“Oh come on Jaxon, please” she drawled out but he shook his head again.
“Please, I promise to be careful.” She added.
“Gem, I already told you no, don’t push it.”
“Please…” She said. Ruby sounded almost like she was whimpering and he found himself almost caving.
“I can take the guards with me for protection.”
“I’m sure that would make you feel better.” She told him. He let out a sigh, she wasn’t letting this go. What was so special about going shopping today anyway?
She approached him with eyes as big as saucers. Ruby stood in front of him and peered up at his face.
“Why aren’t you saying anything?” She asked after a moment. What she didn’t know was that with his height he could see the creamy skin of the top of her boobs. She looked away from her chest and met her eyes staring expectantly at him.
“Well, so can I go if I bring the guards with me?” She asked hopefully.
He sighed. Long and deep. “Fine you can go-” but he was interrupted by her squeal of joy.
“Sorry , sorry, continue.” Ruby rushed out then slammed her hand over her mouth. He fought the smile that threatened to break out on his face and continued.
“As I was saying, you can go. Ruslan and Lucas will be accompanying you and make sure to stay at their side at all times. Clear?”
“Crystal.” She responded while nodding her head vigorously.
“Thank you!” She let out and flung herself into his arms. He felt her arms encircle him in a tight hug and he just stood, frozen. He hadn’t expected her to react this way but she had. All in the name of shopping.
He hugged her back for a moment but then something else popped into his head. How could it not? When her soft body was pressed against his in a tight embrace. He felt the peak of her boobs rubbing against him and he fought hard to not take one perfectly erect nipple and pinch it.
“Gem?” He called out. Her responding grunt was muffled because her face was pressed flush against his chest.
“I’m going to need more than a hug.” He stated. She let her hands drop from his waist and stared at him properly.
“I don’t understand what you mean.” She said with her eyebrows scrunched up in question.
“You will soon.” Ruby shivered as his words sent a twinge of something down her veins. She didn’t entirely understand what he meant but she waited anyway.
He had moved closer to her now and she got a hint of his cologne mixed with aftershave. He was barely an inch away from her and that’s when it finally crossed her mind. He was going to kiss her.
She didn’t even have time to dwell on it before jaxon’s mouth came to settle on hers in what was a breathless kiss. His hands had found a way into her hair as he gripped the back of her head.
He sucked her bottom lip and she moaned, enjoying the way his tongue brushed her lips over and over. Her lips parted voluntarily seeking to deepen the kiss. He obliged her, pushing his tongue passed her open lips and finding the hot inner walls of her mouth.
He rubbed his tongue on hers again and again and that drove her mad. Her hands had long since found a way into his hair and she gripped it tightly.
The kiss gradually wound down until they finally parted. Her breathing slowed as she finger combed through her tangled hair.
“You look thoroughly kissed.” He said with a cheeky smile and her cheeks reddened.
“I have to go to work but I’ll see you later hmmm. And stay with the guards, okay?”
“Okay.” With her having already responded, he gave her a quick kiss on the forehead before leaving for the office.
