Chapter 51
When Jaxon was speaking about guards, he never meant two or three, but a dozen of them.
They were stationed around the house, and Ruby began to doubt if she would be able to leave.
After dressing up, she walked to the door. She just had to leave, one way or the other.
“You’re not allowed to leave, miss. On the boss’s orders,” The guard standing on the door stopped her, his voice thick with a Russian accent.
“It’s important” Ruby tried to keep a straight face.
The man in front of her was very scared; she doubted if he would bulge and allow her to leave; she just had to try.
“You’re not allowed to leave until the boss returns.” His voice was stern, and Ruby bit her lips hard, thinking of an excuse.
“It’s my time of the month,” She began, and the man’s eyes narrowed.
Unlike Jaxon, he definitely knew what that meant. He had sisters, so he knew what Ruby was talking about.
“I have to get some tampons, I don’t have any”
“I’ll send someone to get it for you”
“That’s very private and I don’t like another man getting me something as private as that. Jaxon won’t agree either,” She mouthed, and the man’s jaw worked.
“Let’s go” He finally said, bringing out a car key from his pockets as Ruby’s shoulders fell.
“I can go on my own. Don’t follow me” She frowned.
“You’re going to get tampons; I’ll wait outside while you get it,” He insisted. Jaxon had laid out orders not to let Ruby out of his sight.
“I’m leaving for just thirty minutes, there’s no need to follow me and I find you very intimidating. I’m fine, “she pointed out.
“I’m sorry I can’t allow you to leave, miss”
“I can take the normal driver. You don’t have to follow me.” She would just ask the driver to wait outside while she spoke with Kevin; it’s not as if she was doing anything bad.
But on second thoughts, they would know that she never went to get tampons and then Jaxon will hear of it.
Ruby bit her lips hard as she thought hard on another excuse.
“I’m Jaxon’s wife, and I want to go out; I suggest you let me go, or I’m going to tell my husband you tried to molest me,” Sge warned, trying to sound harsh.
“You know that’s not true”
“I doubt Jaxon will believe you, try me. The keys” She stretched out her hand for the car keys.
Ruslan, the guard, hesitated a bit as he placed the keys in Ruby’s palms.
“Thirty minutes” Ruslan uttered through gritted teeth as Ruby smiled.
“I won’t take long,” She said as she walked to the car and drove out of the compound.
She had learned how to drive from Ophelia.

“Ruby, I’m so glad you came,” Kevin smiled, rising to his feet as Ruby walked into the restaurant.
“Yes, but I’ll be leaving soon” Ruby flashed a smile at him as she sat on the chair opposite him.
She literally bought her way into leaving the house, and no doubt it was going to cause issues for her and Jaxon later.
Kevin had helped her and was a friend to her, that was why she did what she did to come to see him. There was no harm in making friends.
“At least you came” He chuckled, taking his seat as well.
“Do you need anything? A drink perhaps?” He grilled, his eyes fixed on Ruby who was busy typing away on her phone as she shook her head.
“No, thank you,” Ruby politely refused, keeping her cell phone inside her bag.
“You wanted to meet and talk. I think you should do that. What did you want to talk about?” she questioned. She had already set a timer on her phone; once it rang, she was leaving.
“Come on,” Kevin chuckled, pouring himself a champagne as he did the same to the cup in front of Ruby.
“It isn’t a bad thing for friends to hang out, is it?”
“Here.” He gave the glass to Ruby, who reluctantly accepted it.
“There’s no one around,” She said meaningfully as she looked around the empty restaurant.
Her brows furrowed as that was very unusual.
“I rented the whole place. I want it to be just the two of us,” He said meaningfully, and Ruby shook her head slowly.
“I see, but you really didn’t have to go this far. It’s just a normal meeting between friends. Not a date” She deadpanned as she found it very uncomfortable.
There was really no need for what he did.
“By the way, I think it’s best if you stop asking us to meet,” She began, sipping slowly from the champagne.
“You know that I’m married and my husband does not like the idea of me going out. So it’s best if you call or text and stop being incessant.” she pointed out and Kevin only nodded his head slowly.
“We’re friends. There’s no harm in meeting” He blurted out.
“And there’s no harm in calling or texting,” Ruby said, giving him a grinnish smile.
“Do you want to eat anything?” He asked.
“I don’t think so. I think I’ll be leaving, so,” Ruby said slowly as she held her head.
She was beginning to feel lightweight.
“Is this drink alcoholic?” She suddenly asked as she looked at the bottle in front of her.
“No, it’s not” Kevin replied as Ruby’s brows furrowed.
Then why was she feeling funny?
Like very funny.
Even if the drink was alcoholic, one glass was not enough to get her drunk, and to think of it, she only drank a little of it.
“I think I’ll be leaving now,” She announced as if she was getting drunk. She had to leave immediately.
“You won’t be able to drive, Ruby,” Kevin said, his voice suddenly low and dark.
“The Rohypnol I mixed in your drink was quite an overdose. I’m sure you don’t want to die in an accident. So sit” His voice was cold as Ruby suddenly went pale.
“Wh…at?” She stammered the effect of the drug getting worse.
“You’re not deaf, Ruby; sit the fuck down!” His voice was cold and unfeeling as Ruby froze on the spot.
She was drugged, but Kevin.
“What are you going to do to me?” She stammered in a shaky voice as her hands trembled.
“What do you think I’ll do to you? I’ve drugged you, now I’ll rape you, send the picture of the both of us to your husband. That should hurt his ego right?” He held a sadistic smile on his face and Ruby felt bile form in her throat.
“I should also send a video, he should hear you moan and..”
“You bastard!!’ Ruby yelled, not giving him the time to finish his statement as she managed to pick up a glass, which she threw at him.
Glass pieces shattered all over as Kevin was taken unaware, so Ruby tried to use that opportunity to call Jaxon, so she could ask for help.
“Not so fast” Kevin hissed in annoyance as she grabbed the phone from her, throwing it away.
“Now you’ve made me so pissed, that I’m going to fuck you here” Kevin gritted his teeth with a malicious look on his face.
The goal was to get back at Jaxon and he was going to do that.
