“How do I look?” I asked Amelia seriously while I drove.
“Perfectly handsome.” She answered, then moved my hand to her lips and kissed it lightly.
A few months that went by I made sure to call Samantha every week to check up on her.
Even when she told me she was doing fine I was still concerned.
In order to prove to me that she was back to her usual self and very happy, she invited me, Blade and Neo to her place. I decided to go with Amelia and that’s exactly what the guys did too. They decided to go with their mates. Logan and Nana were the ones looking after the pack on our behalf until we returned.
I glanced at Amelia and saw her looking at her phone in concern.
“Is it my mother?” I asked softly.
“Yes. She was reminding me to keep myself warm because it would be cold in the evening.” She answered.
Now that Amelia was close to delivering, my mother was even more concerned and nagging.
Although it was annoying, I was happy that she cared so much about her.
“She also asked me to remind Toni.” She said.
Neo and Blade were driving their cars behind me and they both were very happy to check up on Felix.
“We are here.” I whispered when we made a turn and drove into Felix’s compound.
Immediately I packed the car, her front door opened and she came out.
I froze in shock looking at her.
“Is that …. Felix?” Amelia asked in a surprised tone.
“I think so.” I answered in a whisper.
“Are you guys coming out?” She asked while she approached our car.
She definitely was Felix despite looking different. She was in a short black bearless dress and high golden heels.
Her hair was dyed black and it was no longer long, but short and curly.
I slowly got out of the car and went to open the door for Amelia.
“Thank you.” She whispered and stepped out.
We both stood still when she extended her arms towards us.
“Welcome guys.” She said with a wide smile.
“Thank you.” Amelia answered hesitantly then moved to hug her.
“Amelia, you look great.” She said when she pulled back.
“Thank you. You look absolutely stunning.” Amelia complemented her.
“Thank you.” She answered and then looked at me.
“Ian stop standing like a zombie in shock and greet me?” She demanded with a raised brow.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered then moved to give her a hug.
When I pulled back I smiled at her.
“You look different.” I pointed out.
“Different, as in a bad or good way?” She asked playfully.
“Like Amelia said, you look stunning.” I answered honestly.
“Well, I figured if I wanted to start all over and be happy, I needed to let go of my past and forgive everything and everyone that ever made me go through hell, be it dead or alive. I also needed a new look.” She answered.
“I’m happy that you are well.” I said softly.
“But be warned Ian, I can still kick your ass.” She boasted, making me laugh.
Now that was Felix, Axel and I knew.
Neo drove into the compound and soon after Blade also did.
“You guys go in, I’ll go and welcome them.” She said then turned and went to them.
I linked my hand to Amelia and went with her in the house. When we walked into the living room, Whitney and Leo stood up from the couch.
“Alpha.” They greeted me together.
“You guys are here too?” Amelia asked happily.
“Yes.” Whitney answered then extended her arms to her.
Amelia quickly went to her with a giggle and hugged her.
“Are the twins joining us too?” I asked curiously.
“Of course, they will soon be here.” Leo answered.
I moved to the couch and sat down opposite them.
Chase walked in with a wide smile followed by Lee and Jeannie.
They greeted me and went to talk to Uncle.
In just a few minutes the room was already noisy and everyone was chatting and laughing. When Felix sat next to me I turned to face her.
“It’s been long.” I whispered softly.
“Yes.” She answered simply.
“How are you holding up?” I asked seriously.
“In all my years Ian, I have never been this happy before.” She replied when she looked at Chase who was now talking to Neo and Blade.
“I feel at peace, grateful for life and just amazing. I knew saying these words on the phone wouldn’t convince either you or Leo, that’s why I invited all of you here. That way we can all have time to chat and catch up on everything. I even prepared rooms for each and everyone of you, so there is no way you are going back today.” She responded and laughed softly.
I moved my hand and patted her shoulder lightly.
If someone would have told me about my future back then. I would have laughed in their face and killed them for that. Because there was never a day or time I thought I could ever have a perfect mate, great family and loyal friends.
Just thinking about it made me emotional.
“You are strong.” I whispered softly to her.
She bumped her shoulder into mine then shook her head.
“It’s not that I’m strong, Ian, it’s the people around us who lend us strength. If I was all alone without anyone to care for me, I would have turned evil or gone down the wrong path.” She answered as I laughed softly.
“I relate completely.” I said honestly.
“Hey Felix, bring some beer for us.” Neo screamed loudly.
“I’m on it.” She screamed back then got to her feet and walked out of the room with Chase behind her.
I stood up and went to Amelia wrapping my arm around her waist.
I smiled while she happily chatted with Whitney.
Everyone looked happy and excited to be in one place just as I was.
After all, we were one big happy family.
