Leomord’s p. o. v
I frowned and kept on looking at Alpha Axel while he drove back to the territory.
“You are staring at me too much.” He said in a deep voice.
“Sorry.” I quickly apologized and faced the window.
Why was he the one in control?. Was Ian upset with me by chance?. Was it because of the little playful argument we had?.
A lot of thoughts were going through my mind all at once.
I felt very nervous and Uncomfortable because this was the first time I was sitting next to him.
After cashing out at the till counter, I went out and almost bumped into him. Then, I didn’t know it was him in control because I paid no attention. I just wanted to put the heavy bags in the boot and go back home.
When everything was carefully put in order, I waited in the car for him to come back. As he approached me I could feel a change in his aura and when he entered, I knew there and then that Ian was no longer in control.
“What is it Leo?” He asked as I quickly turned and faced him.
“What, am I not allowed to call you by your name?” He asked.
“No tha.. t’s, that’s not it.” I stammered.
“You are acting like a weakling in front of our Alpha, keep your composure.” My wolf growled at me as I snickered.
“Let me see you try to maintain your composure in front of him.” I answered him silently.
“Watch me.” He said, then pulled through and took control.
“If you call him by his name and he is okay with it, does that mean I’m allowed to do the same?” My wolf asked.
“Are you insane!. That’s Alpha Axel you are talking to, not Ian!” I yelled loudly.
I feared for him when Alpha Axel stepped on the breaks and looked at him seriously.
“Where did he go?” He asked coldly.
“Who?” My wolf asked.
“Don’t play dumb with me.” He spat.
“He was too chicken to stay in your presence.” My wolf answered in a respectful tone.
“What the fuck.” I whispered in disbelief.
Wasn’t he supposed to have my damn back!. Why was he telling him this!.
I was surprised when Alpha Axel chuckled softly.
“I don’t bite you know.” He said, then started the car and drove off.
“You don’t bite but you are too serious and very intimidating.” My wolf answered, making me gasp.
“Do you want to fucking die!” I yelled at him angrily.
“Is that so?” Alpha Axel asked calmly.
“Yes, and I think you aren’t this way with your mate, it’s just with us.” He answered.
“Stop it you moron, you will end up upsetting him!” I spat loudly.
“If you reach the pack with your seriousness, it won’t be a birthday party to remember but a depressing funeral.” He said, ignoring me.
I was astonished over his words and how fearless he was in front of our leader!. He really didn’t care about our lives because if he did, he would have kept his mouth shut.
“We are here.” Alpha Axel whispered when he drove past the territory’s border.
I didn’t know if he was acting dumb or he was easily forgiving us for his disrespect.
Immediately he parked the car in front of the mansion, I tried to take over but my wolf couldn’t step back.
Alpha Axel turned and looked at my wolf with a smile.
“I’ll try not to make it a funeral. And after I see my mate, I’ll let Ian take over.” He said and came out of the car leaving the car keys behind and walked in the mansion.
“You must be stupid!” I yelled at my wolf when he came out of the car and went to the boot to grab a few bags.
“Axel isn’t a bad guy.” He answered.
“I know that!” I spat.
“Also behind that Serious personality is a fun Alpha.” He said, making me angry.
“I now remember that you are such an asshole, that’s why I didn’t want you to take full control.” I said furiously.
“Let’s be clear now shall we, I don’t take over because I see no reason to, but if I do get a reason or want to, believe me I will.” He answered then walked into the mansion going straight to the living room where we found the twins and August facing the floor. The place was beautifully decorated and the aroma we were inhaling was amazing.
“I heard the sound of a car outside, is Leo back.” Whitney asked behind Amelia as they walked in.
“Ian you are already back,” Amelia said as she rushed to him.
Axel turned and faced her.
“Axel.” She called happily then rushed into his arms.
“Axel.” She whispered again then pulled back.
He moved his hand to her stomach, rubbing there for a few seconds then leaned in and kissed her forehead gently.
“See, he isn’t all that scary.” My wolf said then looked at Whitney who stood further away staring at us.
“Come closer.” He whispered softly then put the bags down.
She hesitated but moved closer and stood in front of him.
He leaned in and kissed her deeply without a warning as she responded.
There and then I felt his emotions, they were stronger and intense. If I was the one in control I would have broken down in tears because they were pure and honest.
“I look forward to us spending a lot of years together in the future.” He whispered softly after he pulled back.
“We do too.” She answered seriously then linked her hand to his.
He leaned in again and kissed her cheek lightly then stood upright.
“Axel, cheer everyone up. See what I was talking about a few minutes ago?. Everyone is now acting like it’s a damn funeral when we should be celebrating. The same way they were acting when Aurora was around, that’s the same way they are acting around you. It’s Lexi’s birthday and that girl is like our very own daughter. We and our mate love her a lot.” He said as I agreed in silence.
Whitney looked at him with a wide smile then leaned against his shoulder.
Alpha Axel looked at everyone then walked towards us and stopped in front of the bags grabbing a bottle of tequila from it.
“Who’s up for shots.” He said as the twins’ expression lit up.
“I am.” August answered happily.
“The first one to first get drunk and lose balance gets to clean the rooms tomorrow.” He announced as the twins cheered together while Amelia laughed softly.
When he turned and faced my wolf, he gave him a slight bow, shocking me.
“Thank you, I guess I was too hard on my warriors and pack members.” He said softly then stood upright.
“No problem Axel, I got your back.” My wolf whispered then stepped back giving me full control.
I quickly gave a low bow to him and looked up.
“He was telling me the truth so you don’t have to fear me. I’m also happy that you don’t take Ian so seriously. Today he had a great time at the store and it’s all thanks to you.” He said as I gathered my courage.
“Is it okay if I call you Axel too?” I asked, then held my breath.
“Of course, just not in front of a lot of people.” He answered as I sighed in relief.
“Got it.” I answered happily then stood upright.
“What about us?” The twins asked together.
“No, not you two.” He answered in a playful tone then went to them as they all laughed together.
I wrapped my arm around my mate’s shoulder and stood there watching the twin’s joke with Axel.
We were all going to get wasted and I was betting on it.
