I stood looking at Whitney who was still talking nonsense non-stop. It was slowly getting to me because I had not slept a wink and I was very exhausted. I was sure Ryan felt the same way.
“Do you boys have something to say to us?” She asked.
“Besides you being a pain in our neck almost everyday, we are sorry.” I answered as the room went quiet.
They all were looking at me with shocked expressions on their faces.
“Ryan, you weren’t the one who responded right?” She asked.
“No.” Ryan answered then chuckled softly.
He really was enjoying this I could tell.
“Evan, were you the one who answered me or have you guys swapped characters for fun?” She asked, annoying me.
I hated it when they acted like this. What did they expect?. Me being reasonable and a gentleman forever?. Fuck no, there were at times when I was fed up and angry to shut up or keep my temper in check.
“Uncle, you know that I respect the both of you so much. But when it comes to our mate this woman acts crazy.” I spat.
“What?” She asked in disbelief.
“You heard, tell her Evan.” Ryan said then pressed his hand on his hip.
“You are a pain Whitney. You act as if we are strangers or bad guys. We get that we were doing a lot of stupid shit back then, but now everything is different. Do you seriously think we would hurt our own mate?. That’s insane because we love her with our whole heart. I’ll say this once so please pay attention Alpha. Stay the fuck out of our business and we will do the same. Daughter or not she’s an adult, capable of making her own decisions. We won’t fuck her against her will because we respect her too much to do that. The day that she will agree you won’t stand in our way and that we will make sure, that’s why I want you to start mentally preparing yourself for that day because it will come.” I said seriously then looked at Uncle and gave a low bow.
When I looked up he smiled and nodded.
“Now if you are done with nailing us to the ground, can we go and take a rest because we didn’t sleep at all?” I asked seriously.
“Sure, go take a rest.” Uncle answered.
I was about to move when the door to the living room was pushed open and August came rushing in.
“Whitney we’ve got a big problem, we have intruders approaching our territory. As I speak they have already crossed the territory’s border. They are driving towards us.” He said.
“Let’s go.” Whitney ordered, then looked at me seriously and smiled.
She quickly went out as we all followed behind.
What did that smile mean?. Was she finally accepting us or was she threatening me?.
We all stood outside with the warriors waiting for the car to come in view.
When it did, I picked up Alpha Ian’s scent.
I looked at Ryan and found him looking back at me.
“He’s with Amelia.” He mind linked me.
“Fuck.” I whispered then looked at myself.
I was smelling like liquor and he was definitely going to easily detect that.
When the car parked in front of us, Whitney took a step forward and opened the front door.
“Welcome to the territory Ian.” She said in a respectful tone as alpha Ian stepped down.
She quickly went around the car to open the door for Amelia as well.
When he looked at us we quickly lowered our gaze to the ground.
“Alpha.” We greeted him together.
“You smell like shit.” He mind linked us.
I looked up then moved closer to him.
“Yesterday was our mate’s birthday.” I whispered softly.
“I guess that explains it.” He whispered back.
I was about to ask him why he had come so soon before the given date when murmurs broke out.
Amelia approached us with Whitney and stood next to alpha Ian.
From her eye color I could tell it was Aurora in full control.
Everyone behind us wasted no time in going down on their knees with their neck bared. I looked at Uncle and noticed he had bowed low to give his respect. I and Ryan quickly did the same.
“Look up.” She ordered strongly as we all forcefully did, her Aura was making it unbearable to breath and my knees were slowly growing weak.
“As of today you will be under my rule because this is my territory. Your late alpha king was killed by me and so everything of his now belongs to me and my mate who’s next to me. If you have any problem or you don’t want to be under us, please step forward and challenge me.” She said as the whole place went quiet.
We all knew that she was simply giving a death sentence to all those that would want to leave the territory, because no one in their right might could challenge her and live. Moreover they wouldn’t be facing her alone, they would also be facing alpha Ian as well.
“It seems we are all in agreement. Whitney, show me around.” She said, then linked her hand to alpha Ian.
“This way, alpha queen.” She answered as everyone gave way for them to pass.
Once she was out of sight we all breathed in relief.
“She’s more scary than our late Alpha king, how were you under such a strong queen without losing your heads?” August asked us as everyone looked at us waiting for our response.
“Well, Aurora the alpha queen is hard to please and very scary. But Amelia, her human side, is the opposite. She’s very kind and friendly.” I answered as the warriors sighed in relief.
“I wouldn’t be relieved if I were you, because Alpha Ian is exactly like Aurora with an alpha rank. His wolf alpha Axel is hard and brutal when angered too. It would take a lot of warriors to take him down.” Ryan said as they all looked at each other in fear.
“Ryan, why did you exaggerate on that part?” I asked through our mind link.
“Because it will be fun watching them panic when Alpha Ian talks to them.” He answered through our mind link before going in with laughter.
“My Friend, Are we safe?” August asked in a cracked voice.
My friend?. Did he mean me?.
“Evan.” He called softly.
“Since you helped us out on our mates birthday, I’ll answer you honestly. Alpha Ian is a kind and reasonable alpha. He only turns cold and brutal when angered, so keep away from his mate and make sure to do as he orders, without questions. That’s the only way to stay alive.” I answered then walked past him.
