Evan’s p. o. v
We sat on the couch comfortably drinking our beer in silence.
Everything felt perfect and I couldn’t help but think back to how our day went by.
After eating and chatting for hours we were surprised to learn that our mate did not know how to drive or ride a bicycle. We weren’t dressed for any activities or sports but we couldn’t overlook her words so we decided to teach her how to ride a bicycle after all they were right under the tree.
The first step we took was to make sure she was comfortable while riding. Ryan excused himself before ripping the side of her dress into a slit. Then he went on to help her sit on the seat while I held on to it.
“Are you ready?” I asked while slowly pushing it without letting go.
“Yes.” She answered with laughter while she paddled.
Once I was sure she had gotten the hang of it, I let go and watched as she went on alone.
Sadly she had no idea how to stop so I had to stand in front of her to stop the bicycle.
I ended up with a bruised hand but it was all Worth it, because she was very happy and she couldn’t stop laughing for a few minutes.
The sun was setting and it was getting dark. Before we could go home, we decided to just chill and chat a little bit more.
Ryan lifted her up in bridal style and went to the couch while I took back the bicycle where it was.
I then joined them and sat down next to her.
Ryan had an open bottle of champagne while Lexi had two empty glasses in her hands.
I relaxed and watched as he poured in each of the glasses.
“Brother?” He called softly.
I raised a brow then stood up and went to the table to get an empty glass.
“I prefer beer to that.” I whispered softly.
“I know and you know I do too, but today is our mate’s birthday so swallow your words and get your ass back here.” He answered through our mind link.
I walked back to the coach and sat down with a low sigh.
“Pour.” I demanded.
“Lexi, can you please hand him the filled glass and get that empty one from him.” He said calmly.
“Okay.” She answered and did as he had instructed.
I looked at the glass with a frown then at him.
He got the empty glass from her and poured champagne in it with a smile.
“Perfect.” He said then put the bottle down and stood up.
He was acting all high and joyous over champagne when we hated it.
“Get up, both of you.” He said.
Lexi cheerfully did while I hesitated but ended up doing it.
“Please raise your glasses because I want to give a toast to our beautiful mate.” He said as we did.
“To you, the woman we love and adore. We wish you a good life ahead and much more success to come in whatever you do.” He said as she giggled.
Ryan and I drank our champagne in one goal while she stood looking at hers with a fascinated expression on her face.
“Oh, I don’t think she has ever tasted champagne before.” Ryan whispered softly then moved and pressed his hand on her back.
“You drink from the glass slowly until it finishes. Don’t mind how we drank, because we were acting like cavemen.” He said in a low tone making her laugh.
She moved the glass to her lips and paused for a second before sipping from it.
“How is it?” I asked curiously when she swallowed and lowered her hand.
“It’s amazing.” She answered happily then sat down.
“We are glad that you like it.” Ryan said while he sat down next to her and moved the bottle to her feet.
“Drink as much as you want.” He said, then glanced at me to see if I was okay with his words.
I nodded then went to the cooler and grabbed a pack of beer.
I went back and sat down, ripping the plastic case slightly on top and pulling out one bottle.
“Heads up brother.” I called and threw the bottle to him.
He caught it and wasted no time in opening it with his ring.
I got another bottle from the case then put it down.
“The sunset looks beautiful.” She whispered and sipped from her glass.
“It sure is.” I answered, then opened the beer with my teeth.
A sip from the bottle made me smile and groan in approval.
“Damn this feels amazing.” I muttered to myself.
“I know right. When was the last time we drank beer?” He asked.
“I think it’s been a month and a few weeks.” I answered, then drank from my bottle again.
We sat there for an hour just drinking in silence and enjoying our moment together.
A few times Ryan filled her glass while I handed him another bottle of beer once he was done.
There was never a time we sat drinking in silence with a woman doing nothing, this was a first for us.
“Are you cold?” I asked Lexi when a breeze swept past us.
“No.” She answered in a heavy tone, then chuckled softly. She was already getting drunk and acting cute.
I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and moved, closing the little space between us.
“We are starting off now.” I whispered in her ear then looked around.
The sun was completely set and it was slowly getting dark.
“Brother, should we start off?” I asked softly.
“Yes, I’ll carry her.” He answered.
“Okay, I’ll carry the bottles then.” I said and stood up.
They too stood up and Ryan took off his jacket and covered her.
“Let’s go.” He said as he swept her off her feet making her gasp loudly.
“The Champagne!” She exclaimed.
“I will refill the glass on our way back home.” He answered then walked away with her.
I grabbed the nearly empty beer case and champagne bottle from the floor in one hand and followed them behind.
“Should I get her painting gift from the mat?” I asked when I reached the bridge.
“No, let it be.” He answered.
I chuckled softly then continued to walk.
We both were stupidly jealous and it made us somehow look childish.
I reached where they were and quickly pulled out the keys from my jean pocket and opened the front door.
“Should I open the back door for you?” I asked.
“No. I got it.” He answered.
I got in the driver’s seat and put the beer and champagne under the next seat then shut the door behind me. On top of the seat were the gifts we had prepared for her. I wanted them untouched until we reached the territory.
“Are you both settled?” I asked then glanced at the rear view mirror.
They both were in and the doors were closed.
“Yes.” He answered and turned on the lights.
“You and I can see in the dark, but she can’t.” He said.
“I know.” I answered honestly then started the car.
We were going to continue drinking in our room.
Hopefully Whitney wouldn’t know that we were back because I still wanted to spend more time with her before giving her our presents.
