“Babe!” I called as she ignored me and kept on walking towards the pack’s border.
“Sweetheart.” I called trying to calm her down and stop her from moving.
When she continued, I stood in my tracks.
“Amelia!” I shouted.
She instantly stopped.
“Finally.” I whispered to myself then went to her.
“Amelia.” I called softly behind her.
She quickly turned and looked at me angrily.
Her face was completely wet with tears.
“Now I’m Amelia?. Do you hate me that much?” She asked in a low tone.
I stood there looking at her silently. I was thinking on how to respond to her, without making her break down badly.
She was definitely in a bad mood because I had been calling her by her name whenever I wanted to get her full attention. Even in the yoga room I did, but she was now making an issue out of it.
“I’m sorry.” I answered softly.
An alpha had pride but when it came to the one he or she loved, there was no such thing.
I slowly went down to my knees and held her hands in mine.
“Babe, I want to apologize to you for being a jerk and acting stupid back then. It wasn’t my intention to upset you I swear, I was just looking out for you that’s all. You know how much I love you so never think I’ll ever get tired of you because you are the love of my life and my sanity. I wouldn’t live without you. That’s why from today onwards, I’ll make sure to think my words through before speaking.” I said softly while looking into her eyes.
I was sincere with my words that’s why I was hoping my emotions would reach her and make her stop crying.
She smiled and went down to her knees pressing both of her hands on my cheeks.
“I’m sorry too, I don’t know why I overreacted. You usually call me by name and I knew you were looking out for me when you said that to your mother, it’s just that I snapped. I don’t know why I even did that.” She answered in a cracked voice.
I got her hands and moved them to my lips, kissing them.
“I love you so much.” I whispered through our mind link.
“I know.” She answered as she sobbed loudly.
I pulled her in my arms and rubbed her back gently.
“I only see you Amelia, because you are the only one for me. I’ll never let you go, ever.” I whispered.
“I’m sorry for being a bitch.” She cried loudly.
“You are not a bitch, you never were.” I answered honestly and continued to rub her back.
After a few minutes went by, she stopped sobbing and relaxed.
“The day before yesterday, Neo and Toni bought you a box of chocolate ice cream. How about we go in and eat some?” I asked softly.
She pulled back then wiped off her tears.
“I would love that.” She answered in a low tone.
“Alright.” I said then turned and gave her my back.
“Get on.” I said softly.
“What?” She asked.
“Come on, I want to give you a piggyback.” I answered.
She moved and got on, wrapping her arms around my shoulders.
I stood up then slowly began to walk back.
I wanted her to take all the time that she needed to be calm.
“Babe.” I called softly.
“Mm.” She murmured in response.
“How about we prolong our visit to our new territory?” I asked in a respectful tone.
Going to that new territory with her mood swings wouldn’t be a good idea. She would end up killing someone or acting up. Moreover I wanted her to rest as much as she can.
“Why?” She asked.
“Because I don’t want you lifting a finger over shit that side, I also want you to rest as much as you can before giving birth.” I answered, trying to convince her.
She leaned in and rested her head against my back.
“But I wanted to go.” She whispered softly.
“Bae think about it….”
I cut my sentence short then took a deep breath.
“If someone offends you on that side, would you easily forgive them?. No right?, that’s why I want you to let me go that side alone. Once you deliver and when you have fully recovered, we can go there together.” I said.
“No My love, I am going with you no matter what you say. Any new territory has its own rules and pack members who are very rebellious. If years go by without them ever meeting me they will think I don’t exist and try to over power Whitney, that’s why I need to go. They have to know I exist, that way they wouldn’t dare go against her.” She answered.
She had a solid point. She needed to make an appearance on that side to have their respect.
If that was the case then there was no better time than now. I didn’t want her moving long distances when she was nearing her due date.
“How about we leave tomorrow?” I asked.
“Will that be okay?. I thought you were waiting for the twins’ report.” She answered.
“I was, but I have now changed my mind. Surprising them won’t be a bad thing to do. I want to see if they are truly doing their job flawlessly as usual or they are relaxing.” I said.
“I understand.” She answered then hit my shoulder lightly.
“They are watching us.” She whispered in a low tone when we approached the pack house.
I looked around and noticed that a few pack members were looking at us with smiles while some were whispering to each other.
“Let them watch as much as they want because I am always proud of showing you off.” I answered with a smile and walked into the pack house and went to the kitchen.
“Down we go.” I said then carefully let her down.
I walked to the fridge and opened it, grabbing a box of chocolate ice cream.
“Here it is.” I said then closed the door and turned to face her.
She stood with a teaspoon in her hand.
“When did you get that?” I asked with laughter.
“When you weren’t looking.” She answered then pulled out a chair.
I went and sat down on that chair reluctantly, then patted my lap.
“Come.” I whispered softly.
She moved and sat on my lap facing me.
I put the ice cream box on the table and grabbed the teaspoon from her hand.
“Allow me to feed you.” I said with a smile.
She wrapped her arms around my shoulders without a word.
I closed my eyes and hugged her back.
“I love you.” I heard her whisper and that was enough to make my heart flutter.
