I walked calmly beside Leo with my hand linked to his. Lexi was behind us following quietly.
The pack house was now showing and I could feel light movements ahead.
“I’m sure the warriors have sensed our presence. They are obviously getting ready to defend our territory from you guys.” I said in a low tone.
“This is going to be fun.” Leo whispered with a smirk when we saw the warriors gathering in front of the pack house with some weapons in their hands.
“I know right.” I answered then glanced at Lexi and gave her an assuring smile.
I wanted her to be calm and confident in front of the warriors, because they hated weak she-wolves.
“Is that you general?” Ibuk asked in disbelief.
“Are you fucking blind?” I spat seriously as some of the warriors sighed in relief.
“It’s definitely her.” August said as Ibuk shook his head.
When his eyes went to my linked hand, he frowned then growled loudly.
“Who the fuck is he Whitney!” He asked on top of his voice angrily.
I felt Leo tighten his grip and that was enough to let me know he was getting upset.
I quickly let go of his hand and took a step forward.
“Just because you are third in command it doesn’t mean you should be disrespectful towards me who’s above your rank.” I warned him seriously.
He took a step back then slightly gave a bow.
“Pardon my rudeness, I apologize. It’s just that we were all surprised seeing you with him and not the Alpha king.” He said in a respectful tone.
I was about to scold him, when Leo’s hand on my shoulder made me stop.
Everyone’s gaze was on us and they all looked shocked.
“I’ll take it from here Tey.” Leo said loudly then walked past me and stood in front of the warriors facing them.
“My name is Leomord and I am a Beta by rank. This lady besides me, your general is my wife.” He said as the warriors looked at each other in silence.
“You must be fucking insane!” Ibuk growled loudly as his eyes turned into that of his Alpha wolf.
Leo looked at me for a second with a grin then back at him.
“She’s mine, my female and I don’t care if you are an Alpha or not.” He said in a deep husky voice that gave me shivers.
Ibuk chuckled softly and took a step forward as a challenge. The rest of the warriors quickly moved back.
No one in our territory managed to stand against Ibuk when he was upset, only the late Alpha king and I did.
I moved and grabbed Leo’s hand gently then glared at Ibuk.
“Touch my mate, I dare you.” I and Sia growled fiercely in warning.
His eyes instantly turned back to their normal color.
“Your mate?” He asked with a shocked expression on his face.
“Yes, do you have a problem with that?” I asked back as the warriors whispered to another annoying me.
“Yes he does, because it’s obvious the bastard has a thing for you.” Leo answered lazily.
What?. No way. Ibuk was like a little brother to me. No, he was more like a student I trained, there was no way he had feelings for me.
“Leo, Ibuk has no feelings for me.” I pointed out.
“Are you sure about that Tey?. Then why isn’t he denying it?” He asked as I looked at Ibuk seriously expecting him to surely deny it.
After a few minutes went by in silence, Leo burst out in laughter startling me.
“I will help him speak out.” He said.
Before I could ask how he would do that.
He grabbed me by my wrist, pulling me to him and kissing me deeply without warning.
I wanted to pull away but I found myself giving in and kissing him back desperately.
I was grabbed by my hand and pulled away from him by Ibuk, who was growling at Leo loudly.
“Don’t dare fucking touch her okay!. Whitney has been mine for as long as I can remember!. You can’t fucking have her and I won’t hand her over. Not to you or some stranger who will come from nowhere claiming to be her mate!” He yelled, shocking me.
“Ibuk, what did you just say?” I asked in a whisper.
“You have heard me Whitney. I have loved you for a very long time and I chose to stand by you. I even protected you from the Alpha king and these jerks who were aiming for you!. If not for me, you would have been raped or much worse killed by now. You ought to love and give your life to me, not to some stupid male who just show up to charm you. Did you fucking let him fuck you?. Is that why you are acting this way with him?” He asked on top of his voice.
I furiously moved my hand and grabbed his dick in my hand, squeezing it with all my strength.
Males who spoke like him made me furious. They were also easy to deal with.
I didn’t even have to shift to make them my stepping stone.
“Ahhh, fuck!. Whi… t…. ah. let go… I’m dying.” He screamed in a cracked choking voice.
“Then die.” I spat as I pierced my claws into his flesh.
He screamed louder as tears ran down his cheeks. His breath was labored and sweat was forming on his forehead.
I looked at the other warriors coldly, challenging them to step up and save him if they wanted.
They quickly lowered their gaze to the ground in silence.
I was appointed as second in command for a reason and that was because I was the best there was in the territory, after our late Alpha king. What I wasn’t going to do was sit still and let some lame asshole insult my pride as well as say all that shit in front of my mate.
I was going to set him as an example in front of everyone.
I leaned in and whispered in his ear.
“If you ever say such shit in front of me and my mate ever again, I will rip off your head.”
I then reluctantly let go of his dick with a smile.
He weakly fell to the ground and began shaking uncontrollably.
“He’s having a seizure, August will attend to him.” I ordered then turned and went to Lexi who was looking at me in fear.
“Dear, I would never hurt you, by now you should know. That male disrespected me and my mate, I just couldn’t let it slide.” I whispered softly then extended my clean hand to her.
She hesitated but moved closer and took it.
“Now, welcome home. Let’s go in, I’ll give you a tour.” I said proudly.
