Leomord’s p. o. v
“Wait up, kid wait!” I exclaimed as I chased after her. She was fast in movements and she didn’t even look back once.
She quickly rushed into a hut ahead and closed the wooden door.
I stood still in my tracks when I picked up a foul scent.
“Did you lose her?” Whitney asked, immediately after she had reached where I was.
“No, she ran into that small hut ahead.” I answered.
“Okay, let’s wait for her to come … Wait What’s that smell?” She asked loudly.
“You smell it too right?” I asked back.
“Yes.” She answered and grabbed my hand.
“What?” I asked.
“Don’t go any further.” She whispered softly.
“Why?” I asked, feeling a little confused.
“I think there is a death spell in front of us which kills any living thing when one approaches the hut. Only she can cross.” She answered.
I raised a brow and looked at her seriously.
“And how do you know that?” I asked curiously.
“Because I am able to detect any hidden dark energy. I’m sure you too have a skill that no one has. Each and every high rank Werewolf has a special ability that makes them unique and mine is detecting where dark magic is.” She answered simply.
I kept quiet then took a few steps back with her.
I couldn’t argue with her because she was right. Every high rank Werewolf had either a special skill or ability that made them unique and different from others, even I did.
“So what should we do, because we really need her help?” I asked.
“You heard her words back then right?. She trusts no one because apparently some men were here after her powers, so if we want to win her over, let’s show her that we aren’t a threat.” She answered.
“How do we do that?” I asked thoughtfully.
From her words and actions the girl looked very stubborn, how could we win over such a person?.
“Leave it to me.” She whispered then took the bag from my shoulders.
She carefully put it down and unzipped it, pulling out a new short dress I had packed for her.
She folded it carefully then put it on the ground.
“What are you doing?” I asked softly.
“Baiting.” She answered in a whisper then closed the zip and grabbed my hand.
“Hey kid, my husband and I will be staying in the forest for a little while. If you want to talk to us or need our help in picking herbs, feel free to find us. I have left my beautiful dress for you as a gift and an apology for scaring you. Please do accept it, if you think we mean you harm, you can always kill us easily with your magic. It was nice meeting you and we are truly sorry for disturbing your peace.” She said then looked at me and nodded.
“Let’s go back to the rock.” She whispered once she had picked up the backpack.
As we walked back, my heart couldn’t stop beating rapidly.
“Husband!. She called me her husband.”
That’s all that went through my head.
“Leo, are you okay?” She asked once we had reached the rock.
“Yes.” I answered happily then lifted her up in my arms startling her.
A loud gasp escaped her when the bag dropped to the ground.
“You called me your husband.” I whispered softly with a wide smile.
She sighed in relief then chuckled softly.
“Well yes because you are my man and mate.” She answered.
I carefully put her down and kissed her forehead gently.
“Then I will call you my wife when we reach your territory.” I said as she laughed softly.
Yes I was going to do it, that way the males would know who she belonged to.
“I’m glad you packed a few snacks, items and clothing in this bag.” She whispered softly.
“Me too.” I answered honestly.
I thought nothing but my mates comfortability while I packed a few things in the bag. The only thing that went through my mind then was how much I wanted Whitney to be at ease and somewhat relaxed on our journey.
I knew traveling in our wolf form was faster, but then again it was very exhausting. We needed to shift a few times in our human form in order to take a bath in a river or rest, so the things I had carried came in handy for her.
The thought of her chewing on some snack while resting or her putting on lovely clothes and picking up a few berries or fruits from the tree made me happy.
For myself I only carried two sets of boxers, trousers, shoes and shirts. For her I took four pairs of clean underwear. Four dresses, five pairs of trousers, three shirts and two pairs of shoes. I also took a bottle of water, snacks, touch light, a tent and a few other things.
Surprisingly she only wore the trousers and shirts, never the dresses. Whenever we wanted to shift she would carefully undress and pack the clothes back in the bag and I followed suit.
“Can I go hunting?. Today I am craving deer meat.” She asked softly, snapping me out of my thoughts.
“No, I don’t want you hunting. This place is dangerous.” I answered in concern then picked up the bag and pulled out a tent after unzipping it.
“I am capable of taking good care of myself out there.” She said in a whining tone.
“Let me put this up and start a fire. Once I’m done I’ll go hunting, rest for a bit and relax.” I said then quickly began putting up the tent.
I wasn’t going to argue with her no matter what. I was just going to ignore her words.
“You know, I can start a fire as well as pick wood. You don’t have to spoil me that much.” She said seriously.
“I want to spoil you a lot because you are my mate.” I answered honestly.
She walked to where I was and wrapped her arms around my waist.
“Please let me at least make a fire for the both of us.” She whispered softly.
I turned and faced her calmly.
“Fine, just don’t go far from here. If you hear or see something, call me.” I said then leaned in and kissed her lips.
“Okay.” She answered then walked away.
“I hate the idea of her being alone in such a place.” I said silently to my wolf.
“I understand because I feel exactly the same. But on the bright side, we both have seen how our mate fights. She is strong enough to protect herself, so let’s have more faith in her.” He answered.
“Yes, you are right.” I whispered then continued to put up the tent.
