I looked at my mate who was slowly walking besides me looking so deep in thoughts.
For two days we had been traveling in both our wolf and human form. He rarely talked to me and whenever we hunted for something to eat or picked fruits in the forest, he let me eat first.
Although we were very close to my territory I was still bothered by his actions. Was he doing all that because I was an Alpha?. Was he giving me unnecessary respect because my rank was higher than his?. Either way I hated it!.
He glanced at me for a second then smiled while he fixed his large leather bag pack which he was carrying.
According to him, there were a few needed items and clothes that we had to change into every time we shifted back into our human form.
“Mate.” I called softly then stopped moving.
He immediately stopped and grabbed my hands looking at me from head to toe.
“What’s wrong?. Are you tired or hungry?” He asked in concern.
I shook my head then dropped my hands from his.
“Do you perhaps fear me?” I asked in a low tone.
His expression turned cold as he just stared at me in silence.
“I think it’s more like he doesn’t care much about us.” Sia whispered as my heart began to ache.
“Do you hate us?” I asked in a cracked voice.
He grabbed my hand without warning and pulled me in his embrace.
“Where is all this nonsense coming from?” He asked seriously.
I pulled back and looked him in the eyes.
“You eat last and rarely talk to me. I know you didn’t expect to be mated to an Alpha much worse from the enemy’s side. But believe me when I say I too expected nothing of this sort to happen. When I met you, I just….”
My sentence was cut short when he crushed his lips against mine in a heated kiss. My body instantly melted against his and I desperately kissed him back. My mind went blank and the tingles that went throughout my body made me want to moan out.
When he pulled back, I was breathing heavily and all I could see was his handsome face, the surroundings didn’t matter to me.
“Let me make this clear to you mate. I don’t hate you at all, actually it’s quite the opposite. I am very fond of you and I’m looking forward to falling in love with you. As for why I eat last, it’s because it’s in my instinct. Be it human or not, I want my woman to first get her strength and fill before I do. I’m a man, so I can still hold off well.” He said then continued.
“I don’t know exactly how they treated you in your stupid territory, but I have an idea because of your story. That’s not how a female should be treated. Warrior or Alpha, they both deserve to be loved and respected dearly.” He said as I swallowed hard.
I wanted to cry so bad but I strongly decided to hold back my tears. He was the first male to ever tell me such words that made my heart flutter.
“So you not talking much and not always looking at me like I do doesn’t mean you don’t want me?” I asked dumbly.
He moved his hand to his forehead, lightly hitting it before dropping his hand.
“I do want you Whitney. Everything I’m from telling you I mean it. The reason why I act like I’m avoiding you is because I want to hold my composure.” He answered, confusing me.
“I don’t understand what you mean.” I said honestly.
He moved closer and closed the little space between us looking down on me.
“No male in his right mind wouldn’t want to fuck and mate their mate when they are next to them. I spend hours by your side and each time I look at you I realize how beautiful and sexy you are. You are stronger than all the females I had ever met and just the thought of you being mine arouses me. I don’t know how you haven’t been able to pick that up but I really get horny most times, and all I could think of is having my way with you in this damn forest.” He said seriously as my cheeks instantly heated up.
I quickly moved my hands to my cheeks and took a step back. My wolf was purring happily while my body felt hot.
“Now since we have cleared up your misunderstanding, we have to keep going.” He said then slowly walked ahead.
I turned and looked at him in awe. Even as he walked, his built was very impressive and each step he took showed how sure he was with the way.
“Mate.” I called in a low voice as he stopped moving.
I quickly rushed to where he was and stood next to him.
“I’m grateful for your concern and words but please, starting from today onwards, share a meal with me. If you get used to me or fall in love with me, then please mate with me.” I said seriously.
I wasn’t going to keep quiet. I needed him to know.
“Leomord.” He answered.
“What?” I asked seriously.
“My name is Leomord.” He answered and then looked at me.
My rapid beating heartbeat increased and my breathing was getting loud.
I was happy and felt very excited to know his name.
“If you don’t mind, can I call you Leo?” I asked softly.
He smiled then nodded.
“Feel free to do that and in return I’ll call you Tey.” He said as I frowned.
“Tey?” I asked, not liking the name at all. It sounded like a man’s name.
“Yes, it’s taken from your full name. The reason why I will be calling you that it’s because I want to be the only one who calls you by a nickname.” He answered then pressed his hand on my cheek gently.
“You are my woman, my female. It would bother me hearing any male from your territory calling your name freely, that’s why I have picked this nickname for you. So when they do call you Whitney, I will still feel happy knowing I’m the only one who calls you by another name.” He said seriously as I moved without warning and wrapped my arms around his waist.
I didn’t know how he managed to say all those words that made my heart flutter and my wolf purred with a straight face.
Either way I was very happy to have him by my side and this was the first time I was feeling this overjoyed in my life.
He was mine and I was going to make sure I satisfy him in everything, to have him stand by my side.
