I stood in front of our pack’s previous slaves, listening to their murmurs and whispers.
At first when I ordered the twins to bring them to where I was, they looked stunned and full of questions, but once I growled at them in warning, they quickly did as I had said. When I met the females, they all kept quiet and feared to speak.
Bringing out Amelia was a bad move and things would only get worse because she was an Alpha queen and they had once witnessed her full strength.
I had to think fast and that’s why I called out Toni to stand by my side. She was hesitant at first but soon became confident and encouraged everyone to speak out.
“Have any of my warriors been good to you?. Did anyone hit or talk down on you while I was away?” I asked in concern.
A tall blond she-wolf stepped forward and shook her head.
“No Alpha, to be honest. Yesterday when the twins came to the demolished wings and found me carrying a heavy load, they reluctantly offered me their help.” She said seriously.
“Yes, even with us. And Delta Blade invited us for a drink. It was a pleasant day and we had fun. After that he allowed us to take our leave in a polite manner.” Another said as I smiled.
The fuckers were making a move on them with wrong motives. After all they wanted to fuck.
“I understand what you are saying. But that’s not what I want to hear. I want to know if any of my warriors have been bad to you. Please speak freely, don’t hold back.” I said calmly as they all looked at each other.
“Alpha, there is this warrior who usually looks down on me badly and at times threatens me. Ever since I came to this pack he treated me like trash and hurt me. He also made me refer to him as Master. I really don’t know his name but I know what he looks like.” Toni said as I frowned in shock.
“What!” I exclaimed then quickly turned to look behind upon hearing a furious loud growl.
Neo stood a few meters away from us with his hands clenched in fists. His chest was raising and falling and his eyes were that of Vision.
He matched to where we were and grabbed Toni by the hand roughly.
“Show me where that bastard is, now!” He commanded loudly, making the she-wolves murmur in fear.
Toni looked at me sadly and pleadingly.
I wanted to tell Neo how he was scaring the females, but I also wanted the fucker who had done that to Toni punished or killed.
“Are you going to disobey your mate and Beta?” I asked as she widened her eyes in shock then lowered her gaze to the ground.
“I’ll lead the way Beta.” She answered and tried to move ahead when she was swept from her feet and lifted up now in caveman style.
“Beta!” She yelled loudly when Vision began to walk ahead ignoring her calls.
I chuckled softly remembering how I had done the same to Amelia at the beach. It was one of my best memories.
When I turned and looked at the she-wolves I found them smiling while some giggling happily.
“Alpha, is she truly mates with the Beta?” A short brunette asked with a wide smile.
I raised a brow and folded my arms as they all looked at me in silence, their faces full of curiosity.
“Yes.” I answered.
“See, I knew it.” She exclaimed happily as the giggles grew louder.
“It seems they are dropping their guard around you.” Axel said then huffed.
“Yes, you are right.” I answered silently.
“Are any of you mated?” I asked seriously.
The giggles instantly died down.
What?. Was my question that bad?.
“I was, but my mate was killed by your hand in our previous pack.” A tall she-wolf answered with a cold expression on her face as everyone gasped.
My expression turned cold as well as I lazily dropped my arms.
She tensed then bit her lower lip hard and lowered her gaze to the ground. She was trembling and sniffling softly.
“Look up.” I commanded strongly.
She instantly did with tears running down her face.
“I am so sorry. I was selfish and foolish to take away your joy.” I whispered then gave a low bow.
If it was back then, I wouldn’t have understood her pain and tears. But after meeting Amelia I understood everything perfectly. Losing her for a few days made me lose my mind and it gave me fear like never before. If she was to be killed by the Alpha king, I could never have lived with myself.
“I can’t bring back the dead, but I promise you this. I will see to it that you live a good life and if you desire, you can leave this pack and my men will make sure you reach your chosen destination unharmed. I swear on the moon goddess.” I said then raised my head to look at her.
Her mouth was wide open and her tears seemed to stop.
“Do you really mean it?” She asked in a cracked voice.
“Nora, he swore on the moon goddess. That alone should show how sincere his words are.” Another said as they all agreed.
She moved forward and stood in front of me still trembling.
“Then I look forward to you earning my forgiveness.” She said then extended her hand with a forced smile across her face.
I swallowed hard and took it then shook it.
“I won’t fail you.” I answered after I had dropped my hand.
“Alpha, if we may. Can we ask for a place to stay?. Ever since the wings were demolished we have nowhere to sleep.” One said as I frowned.
“Are you serious?” I asked softly.
“Yes. And we have little food to eat and clothes to wear. Although the men don’t mock us or come our way, they give us cold stares whenever we cross paths.” She answered.
“I see. Is there anything more I could be of help with?” I asked in concern.
“When we were brought here, our roles were to satisfy the males of this pack. But now that you abolished that rule, we have nothing else to do. If it’s okay with you, we would like to help around the pack. Be it cleaning or cooking like we did in our previous pack.” The blond girl said as I smiled.
“I will see to it that you find something to do in our pack and your labour won’t be in vain, you will be earning something by the end of the month. Also, if you do find your mate, please don’t be hesitant to talk to The Beta, Delta or me. I might have taken you from your homes by force but that doesn’t mean you are to serve this pack as servants. This is now your home. So please be free.” I said as they happily nodded.
“Now, go back to the west wing and wait. The warriors will come and show you were you are going to stay for the time being.” I said.
They excused themselves and all went back.
“Blade.” I called through our mind link.
“Yes Alpha.” He responded in a respectful tone.
“Tell all the warriors to set camp at the training field.” I ordered.
“Right away alpha. But sorry to ask you this, are we resuming training without rest?” He asked.
“No, their houses are going to be given to the females until the wings are rebuilt.” I answered honestly.
He kept quiet for a few seconds then cleared his throat.
“I understand.” He said.
I closed our mind link then turned and went back to the pack house.
I was going to make everything right.
