“How are you holding up?” Neo asked in my office.
I put the file I was going through on the table and looked at him.
“I’m alright brother, I’m more concerned about you.” I answered honestly.
“Why me?” He asked.
“Because I have decided to kill your ex-mate’s wolf.” I answered.
He moved and pulled out a chair which was opposite me then sat down.
“It’s better than brutally killing her. I won’t lie, I didn’t expect you to show mercy on her, you really have changed Ian.” He said then smirked.
“Women do play a major role in one’s life.” He muttered as I rolled my eyes.
“Quit being funny.” I pointed out then relaxed in my seat.
“We will make sure the pack members adjust and adapt to the new rules, so don’t worry and leave everything to us.” He answered.
I brushed my fingers through my hair then sat upright.
“I hope it turns out well, you know.” I whispered.
“It will, but… was it a good idea to keep everyone in the dark?” He asked.
“You mean I should have told them about the Alpha king?” I asked back.
“Yes, that would have been better than keeping them in the dark. Everyone should be prepared and ready to fight for their lives.” He answered.
“I know, but telling them all that in just a day seemed too much, that’s why I left out a few things you know. I will tell them soon, just not this week.” I answered then stood up when Blade walked into my office without knocking.
“Alpha, we have a problem.” He said breathlessly.
“What is it?” I asked with a rapid beating heart.
It wasn’t the old alpha king, was it? Because we had no idea when he would ambush our pack.
“The female vampire is approaching our pack!” He exclaimed.
I looked at Neo then nodded and walked out of the office.
“Alpha, should I gather every warrior?” Blade asked behind me as he followed.
“No, that female vampire is way stronger than most of my warriors plus she is Axel’s friend.” I answered when I had walked out of the pack house.
“A vampire is Alpha Axel’s friend?” He asked in disbelief.
“Yes. Is that shocking?” I asked as I approached the pack’s border.
“Yes it is, vampires and Werewolves are enemies. No matter what, they can never be friends.” He answered loudly.
I stood in my tracks then turned and faced him.
“Starting from today you should change that fucked up mindset of yours.” I spat then turned back and walked ahead.
I grinned when I saw a purple Lamborghini parked. Felix stood in front of it and inside was a guy sitting.
“Wait here.” I mind-linked Blade and went to her.
“You are late.” I said once I had stood in front of her.
“You aren’t fucking paying me shit Ian.” She responded harshly.
“Name your price.” I spat.
“Your life.” She answered coldly.
“That I can’t give you.” I said with a shrug.
“Then don’t say stupid things you can’t even manage to fulfill.” She answered.
I chuckled softly then extended my hand to her.
“Welcome to my pack.” I said.
She looked at my hand for a second then at me.
“Whatever.” She whispered while she took my hand and shook it.
“She sure is stubborn.” I whispered silently to Axel.
“I know.” He answered.
“I’m sure you prefer driving your car to the pack house than leaving it here and walking with me, isn’t it?” I asked.
“Damn right.” She answered then dropped her hand.
I turned and went to where Blade was standing.
“I’m sure by now Neo has told the warriors who were alert to stand down, so don’t do anything stupid.” I whispered then walked past him as he followed behind.
Once I had reached the pack house I waited for Felix to park her car. Immediately she had done that she got off and the man did too. I could hear low growl’s coming from the pack members and whispers. They didn’t want her in the pack and most saw her as a threat.
“Your pack is surely welcoming.” She said while approaching me with the guy.
“You must understand how they feel Felix. If I was to walk into your coven just like that, your kind would either kill me in seconds or attempt to.” I answered.
“Well I didn’t come here to waste my time on them, I came here because you asked for my help.” She said seriously.
“Yes, do follow me to my office. We have a lot to talk about.” I answered then walked into the pack house with her following behind.
Once I was in, I moved to my seat and sat down.
She went to the couch and sat down with the guy next to her.
“Isn’t your bodyguard coming in?” She asked mockingly.
“He is my warrior, not my bodyguard, and no he is not going to come in. My men know how to act and when to follow me or not.” I answered.
“Okay. Before we begin to discuss a few things, I would like to drink some cold whisky.” She said annoying me.
She was a damn vampire, why the hell did she want whisky.
“You really want to get on my nerves in my own pack don’t you?” I asked.
She crossed her legs then smiled.
I was about to respond when I inhaled Amelia’s beautiful scent.
I quickly stood up and went to open the door before she could knock.
“Babe.” I whispered and leaned in to kiss her forehead lightly.
“Are you busy?” She asked softly with a warm smile.
“Yes, I want to settle a few things with Felix.” I answered.
“Felix?” She asked.
“Yes, she is in the office.” I answered, then grabbed her hand and pulled her in.
“Amelia,” Felix called then got to her feet when she saw her.
Amelia smiled widely and went to her, embracing her.
“Felix, what brings you here?” She asked softly as I laughed softly.
She really was an amazing actress. There was no way she had no idea that Felix was in my office. Not only did she have amazing instincts, she had amazing senses which were better than mine.
“Axel called me for help.” Felix answered then pulled back.
“Is it about the alpha king?” She asked when she looked at me.
“Yes,” I answered honestly.
“If that’s the case then Felix please allow me to tell you the whole story.” She said when Felix sat down on the couch.
“Please do and don’t leave out any details. Chase And I have the whole day.” She answered proudly.
I walked to my chair and sat down comfortably.
We sure had a long day to talk about everything and plan our next move.
