Amelia’s p. o. v
I woke up still feeling very exhausted and sore. I sat upright and winced in pain.
“Damn it Aurora, did you really have to go that hard with Axel?” I asked her silently.
“Of course. How are we to carry their pup if we don’t have them knot us as much as they can?” She asked back happily as I sighed loudly.
She really was living in the moment that she was forgetting our worst fear.
“You have a point Aurora, but did you think things through seriously? We haven’t told our mate about the alpha king who desperately wants to make us his bride, and us getting pregnant right now will only be a burden to Ian and everyone. How could we defend ourselves from that old bastard if we were heavy with a pup?” I asked sadly while I stood up.
“Remember why we ran away from the man we truly love with our whole heart. That old bastard is definitely stronger than us and we can’t involve our mate into this, yes I want to carry his pup because it’s my joy as his mate, but I’m also afraid of bringing danger to the unborn pup if I was to get pregnant.” I continued.
I was about to ask for her advice if I should take some sort of herbs or pills to stop us from becoming pregnant when Ian walked in with a cold expression on his face.
“Hun,” I called from nowhere hoping he would like the name I had come up with.
He seriously walked to where I was and stood in front of me.
“What did you say?” He asked seriously as I smiled shyly.
“I called you hun. Since you now call me baby, I thought I would make a sweet name for you as well.” I answered with a wide smile as he chuckled.
Something about his chuckle felt off and cold.
“I hate it when you act dumb Amelia so I’ll ask again. What the fuck did you just say?” He asked in a low growl.
I frowned and took a step back. Was he displeased by the nickname I had picked for him? Was I supposed to make another one for him or just go back to calling him Ian?
“Ian, I’m sorry that you felt uncomfortable, I didn’t know you wouldn’t like the nickname I picked out for….”
“Enough.” He yelled startling me as his eyes switched between his natural color and Axel’s.
“I’ll ask for the last time, Amelia. What the fuck did you say!” He growled loudly as I shuddered in fear.
Why was Axel angry with me too? What would I have done to make them this upset?
“He must have heard about the alpha king.” Aurora whispered silently.
“What? No way was I speaking out loud!” I answered.
“Amelia.” He called loudly.
I quickly moved and pressed my hand against his cheek gently hoping he would calm down, but that only seemed to make it worse because his growl was louder than ever that it shook the place.
Before I could respond Aurora pulled me back and took over. When Ian saw that, he too let Axel fully take over.
As Axel faced Aurora he still looked very upset with us.
“Speak my love.” Came his command.
Although he had a fluttering name for us, he still gave off a cold aura because he was pissed.
“Just as you must have heard Axel, we really are in danger.” She answered as his expression softened.
“Tell me everything there is to know.” He said with emphasis.
As Aurora told the whole story, Axel listened calmly. Once she was done, she moved our hand and touched his cheek gently and this time he embraced the touch by leaning in and covering our hand with his.
“I am so sorry dear. I thought hiding this from you would protect you and our pack from harm’s way, but now I realize that it was a foolish plan and move.” She apologized seriously.
He sighed softly then took a step closer, closing the space between us and looked us in the eyes.
“You must have gone through so much by yourself without us noticing any change. I’m so sorry.” He whispered softly leaving us speechless.
She smiled then sniffed. I could feel her emotions because they were my own. Relief and happiness, over our mate, understanding what we were going through.
“Aurora and Amelia, listen attentively please because I will only say it once. Ian and I aren’t stronger than the alpha king that’s coming for you, and yes we can’t even think of defending you flawlessly from his men. But what we won’t do is hand you over to that sick bastard no matter what. You are ours and that can never change no matter what. We belong to you as much as you belong to us. If we have to lay our life down for you and the pack then we will do it proudly.” He said seriously as tears rolled down our cheeks.
Both of us felt sad and overwhelmed by their love and loyalty. We loved them so much and losing them would kill us.
I pulled through and shook my head as I sobbed silently.
“No Axel, we can’t live with ourselves if you and Ian were to die for our sake. It would kill us.” I cried.
Ian pulled through as well and pulled me in his arms.
“Amelia.” He called softly then pulled back and looked me in the eyes.
“That bastard taking you away from us and having you as his wife would kill us too. We love you more than words could explain. We can’t step back and let you fall alone. As your mate and man, I will stand my ground together with Axel and do whatever it takes to take that Bastard down, even if we have to die in the process.” He said as I cried loudly.
“I want to be with you and bear you pups.” I cried out in heartache as Aurora whimpered sadly.
I hated my royal blood but there was nothing I could do about it. I felt so weak and hated myself so damn much.
He held my cheeks sadly and leaned in kissing my forehead gently.
“Babe, have you forgotten that you aren’t standing alone? You are not a slave or a weak she-wolf anymore. You are an Alpha Queen with an Alpha beside you and a powerful pack behind you. We will all protect you and make sure no harm comes your way I promise.” He whispered then kissed my trembling lips as I kissed him back.
