I was in the office trashing the documents and going through papers.
There was supposed to be something in there that would lead me to her whereabouts.
Axel was many things but never dumb. There was no way he was going to send her away without a place to stay or some money. He knew exactly where she was and who she was with. Having him tell me was impossible so I was going to find out all by myself one way or another.
I glanced at the window for a second and noticed the sun set.
Today was the night of the full moon. I was afraid and I couldn’t calm down. I sat down on the chair and scrolled through the files.
When the door opened and Neo walked in I paid no attention.
“Alpha, the basement cell is all done and set.” He announced.
I furiously shoved the laptop from the desk and stood up. My chest was rising and falling.
“I don’t want to look at you right now.” I said huskily.
“I understand alpha, but today will be the night of the full moon. We both know how you tend to lose control and hurt the pack members. To avoid unwanted deaths and many injuries. I have to lock you up.” He said seriously.
“Fine, prepare the needed dosage of wolfbane in my whiskey.” I answered, then walked out of the office and went to the basement.
Once I had walked in I stood looking at the silver chains which were perfectly nailed and grilled to the wall.
A shiver spread throughout my entire body. Just the thought of being chained made me feel bad.
My gaze shifted to a mattress that was set on the ground.
“What the hell.” I muttered to myself.
When Neo walked in I turned and faced him.
“What’s with the mattress?” I asked.
“Oh that, it was suggested by Nana. She was worried about you.” He answered and then handed me the whiskey bottle which was in his hand.
“Tell her I don’t need this. When I’m in pain I see and feel nothing but it. The coldness of the floor doesn’t affect me in any way.” I said then drank from the bottle as much as I could.
“I understand alpha, but please do consider her feelings.” He said.
I moved to the mattress and slowly sat down.
“Well, I guess it won’t kill me to sit on it.” I answered softly.
He knelt down beside me and carefully grabbed the chains, putting them around my legs and locking them with a lock and key.
I drank from the bottle again before handing it over to him. When I noticed some movements I frowned.
“Did you come with someone?” I asked seriously.
“Yes.” He answered then stood upright.
“It’s done.” He said seriously.
“Good, Just remember to have everyone lock their doors and pretend not to hear a thing. No matter what happens, no one should be found outside. Mostly look after Nana.” I instructed.
“Of course alpha, I will do just as you have ordered.” He answered then looked at the half bottle of whiskey in his hand.
“Will you finish this or should I go with it?” He asked.
“Wait,” I ordered, then moved and grabbed it from his hand, drinking from it without stopping.
It was nearly empty when I moved it from my lips, I felt a Sharp pain pierce my chest. I groaned and closed my eyes for a second.
“Alpha, are you okay?” He asked loudly in concern.
I opened my eyes and faced him with a forced smile.
“It’s nothing,” I whispered, then drank from the bottle again, this time making sure it was emptied.
“Here,” I whispered while handing him the bottle.
“Go now and lock the grill door behind you. The curse is beginning to take effect on me, soon it will slightly take a toll on you too.” I said under my breath.
He gave me a sympathetic look before walking out of the basement and locking the grill door.
I leaned against the wall and closed my eyes. The burning in my chest and where the silver chains were locked was beginning to sting badly although it was bearable.
“Axel,” I called softly, hoping to strike up a conversation with him.
When a minute went by without his response I decided to go on talking.
“You know, at times we can never seem to agree on a few things, and that I know, but by the end of the day we are one. I can’t survive without you and you can’t survive without me. We need each other to survive and make it. That girl you had sent away was our way through the pain. You might not have thought about this but what if she was the needed part of getting rid of the curse?. I know it doesn’t make sense and it sounds crazy, but what if?” I asked.
A few minutes went by and still no response came.
“Just tell me where that slave is and I promise to not hurt her. I give you my word Axel, I will make her our Luna and take her as my second wife.” I said silently.
Of course, I was lying, but I needed him to tell me where the fuck she was. I needed her, but never was I ever going to show her kindness, not after her little escape plan. I felt anger towards her but it was all taken over by my desperate need of finding and taking her back in my pack.
“Will you pretend not to hear ….”
I cut my words short when blood dripped on my shirt.
I slowly moved my hand to my nose and touched the wet liquid there.
I looked at my fingers with a frown. It was covered in blood.
I was about to move when I began coughing badly. I covered my mouth and tried to calm myself down.
When I dropped my hand I was in shock, it was covered in blood.
My breath instantly picked up and my breathing became labored. I leaned in weakly and growled loudly as a stabbing pain in my chest began intensifying.
This was nothing like I had ever gone through before. Yes, I went through a lot of pain but there was never a day I was bleeding from the nose and coughing out blood. The symptoms were similar to those of one who has taken an overdose of the poison Otis. My body was shivering and sweat was forming on my forehead. My vision was slowly becoming blurry and my hearing was dimming as I screamed out in pain.
