“But we need to keep this from Aaliyah. She would cause havoc if she came to know -”
“- that her father has been attacked in the axe gang and is probably battling for his life?” Aaliyah completed Laura’s words, making everyone turn to her in shock as Aaliyah entered the living room.
“Seriously, mom? He is your husband. How can you act so insensitively? You want to hide this because you know I would go there if I found out, no? Well, you aren’t wrong. He is my dad, and there is no way I won’t go to protect him even after knowing his life is in danger,” Aaliyah rushed to her room before pulling off the mattress and bringing out the pistols that she hides under it.
Stuffing the pistols in her pockets, Aaliyah wore a leather windbreaker jacket that won’t catch fire easily.
Walking down the stairs, she looked at her mom, sister, and aunt before shaking her head in disappointment as she left the house.
“Lily, this is bad. What am I supposed to do? She will hate me for this. I just wanted to protect her from danger. Harry is already in trouble, and now Aaliyah would be too. I won’t be able to live -” Laura sniffled, and Lily hugged Laura before patting her back.
“Don’t cry, Laura. Everything is going to be fine. Trust Harry. He won’t let anything happen to your daughter,” Lily said, and Katherine bit her lips before walking to her room.
‘Aaliyah has gone to the main base of the Axe gang. They even captured dad, and we don’t know what will happen there. What if they hurt Aaliyah before Matthew sends reinforcements there?’ Katherine racked her brain before remembering Bryce had told her last time to call him if she was in trouble and needed help.
“Hello, Sweetie,” Bryce said as soon as he picked up the call, and Katherine sniffled.
“Bryce, I need your help,”
“Hey, Kat. Stop crying. Tell me what happened. Did someone try to do something or -”
“It’s Aaliyah. She has gone to the main base of the axe gang to fight them,” Katherine clenched her fists.
“Axe gang? But why would she do that? Does she not know how dangerous it can be?” Bryce asked, his gaze meeting Dominic, who nodded at the driver to turn the car in that direction.
“It’s because of our dad. He went there to protect his people, but the gang captured him too. Aaliyah is too angry. I am afraid -”
“Don’t worry. We are leaving. Nothing will happen to Aaliyah. You know Dominic won’t let that happen,” Bryce said, and Katherine hummed.
‘I am afraid she might annihilate the whole gang,’ Katherine thought, not saying her thoughts aloud.
Aaliyah is actually a very calm and collected girl, but whenever it comes to their family and gang, she becomes insanely possessive, and there is no stop to her insanity.
That’s why their mom always tries to keep Aaliyah away from these things and asks Dad to stay away from them. However, you can’t make a lion forget how to attack and hunt just because you capture him in a cage. Katherine thought before calling Matthew to ask what was going on.
“I am sorry, Katherine. I had no idea I accidentally called Aaliyah instead of Aaron,” Mathew said, and before Katherine could speak, Laura snatched the phone from her hand.
“How could you, Matthew? Have you forgotten what kind of trauma she bears in her heart? How could you make such a grave mistake? We all know that after what happened with the boss, she has had things against evil gangs, and you just gave her a reason to take out her anger.
Honestly, I was worried because of Harry, and now I have to worry about my youngest daughter becoming a murderer,” Laura said, and Matthew bit his lips.
“I am sorry, mom. It wasn’t in my intention, I swear. I am under great pressure right now. Never in my dreams did I think I would have to take over temporarily like this. Honestly, Aaliyah would have done a better job at this than me. She is made just for -”
“Don’t utter a word, Matthew. Aaliyah is not made for this. Topic closed,” Laura ended the call, and Katherine bit her lips as she saw her mom leaving the room.
Meanwhile, Dominic, driving towards the Axe gang, gave orders to their members around the area to gather and help take down the axe gang.
“Just how much courage does this girl have to go to a main base alone?” Bryce murmured, and Dominic looked out of the window.
As much as proud he was of Aaliyah, at the moment, all he wanted to do was open her brain and see if it was working all right or not.
It wasn’t gutsy, but foolish of her to go there alone. Does she really think she can take down the axe gang? That to be at their base? She has gotten some great delusional fantasies if she thinks so. Dominic sighed, thinking about one thing that he couldn’t understand.
“But who is her dad, and why would the axe gang capture him?” Dominic asked, and Bryce shrugged.
“From what our report said. He is probably a cop. You know how the Axe gang works. I am sure he must’ve seen something he shouldn’t or probably threatened them to file a case with, and they reacted. Even Katherine said that he went there to free his people but got caught,” Bryce said before looking at his phone had an incoming call from Dimitri.
“Bad news,” Dimitri said, and Dominic’s ears perked slightly.
“What is it? We are in a hurry,” Bryce said.
“Well, don’t tell Dominic about it,” Dimitri said, and Bryce looked at Dominic sitting beside him with a contemplated look.
Seriously? Of course, he won’t tell Dominic because he can hear his phone call himself. Bryce shook his head.
“Just speak it,”
“I received a call from Samantha, and probably Mr. Nathan messed up things. He invited Aaliyah to avenge how she insulted Dominic at the meeting,” Dimitri said, and Bryce looked at Dominic, but the latter didn’t even react.
“What exactly happened?” Bryce asked, and Dimitri told him everything from how they went to a restaurant and tried to show her she was below them but were shocked to find out she has access to all premium services, and then she told Nathan something that has him shocked since then.
“Well, it was indeed bad. Don’t worry. I won’t tell Dominic because he heard you already,” Bryce said.
“What? Couldn’t you warn me? Where are you guys going in a hurry? I hope it’s not to scold Mr. Nathan,” Dimitri said, and Bryce hummed.
“That might happen later, but for now, we are going to protect Aaliyah from getting killed. Her father has been abducted, and she thinks she can take down the axe gang alone,” Bryce said before they talked for a while and ended the call.
Parking the bike in the forest, Aaliyah stood at some distance and noticed Matthew standing with some people, devising plans about how to enter the base.
“We can’t decide just like that. We have to keep in mind that one wrong move can cost us our dad’s life, and these gangs -”
“Dad is not there,” Aaliyah said, and Matthew turned to her, shocked by her sudden presence.
“Aaliyah? What the hell are you doing here?” Matthew raised his brows, and Aaliyah looked behind her as the things she had asked Ashton to ask his dad to prepare were already there.
“I had installed a tracker in Dad’s phone and put a tracker chip on his purse when he went to use the washroom. Both of them show a location that is three km away from here. I want you to go there and handle things while I blow up this place. We might as well save some time,” Aaliyah looked at Matthew, and though he didn’t know what she was thinking to do, he nodded before taking a few of the men with him.
“Miss Aaliyah, what are these things?” Hudson asked, and Aaliyah smiled.
“I was researching on gangs these days since I am preparing to take over dad’s gang, and I found out most of the people in the Axe gang are either ra*ists or cold-blooded murderers,” Aaliyah played with the pistol in her hand.
“There are 89 members in this base at the moment, and the only good people have gone home to spend some time with their families since it’s almost evening. Only scums are left here. Ashton found out about these things, and I trust their gang’s tracking and investigation skills since they are known for that only,” Aaliyah said before nodding at Ashton, who was sitting in one of the trucks.
“Step aside,” Aaliyah said before she lifted her hand in the air and brought it down in a ‘go’ signal.
And as soon as Aaliyah did that, Ashton shot the mini-missiles to the base, making the center blast, and the walls started to crumble and come down.
“Stay prepared,” Aaliyah nodded at everyone before she signaled to send the second missile, which had an even larger impact than the previous one.
“Now!” Aaliyah shouted, and another machine lifted from the second truck as it started throwing grenades toward the base, making several blasts echo in the surroundings.
After five minutes, the base that was standing like a large Dome was almost crumbled to pieces, and Aaliyah signaled them to stop before she nodded at Ashton, who walked towards her.
“Want to check?” Ashton asked, and Aaliyah nodded at Hudson, who asked a few people to check if there were any survivors and if they could find something they could use.
After ten minutes, the men who left returned and nodded.
“Heavily injured, but only three deaths,” the men reported, and Aaliyah hummed.
“Call an ambulance from the private number. Tell the hospital about the miseries here. Their life is in fate’s hands now. After committing such heinous crimes, it would be better if they were dead, but let’s say I have some humanity left,” Aaliyah grinned, and Hudson shuddered at her sinister smile.
This is why he is always afraid of Aaliyah more than anyone else in the gang.
To say she was ten steps ahead of Harry would be an understatement. He always fears what would happen if she becomes the leader. Half of the gangs in the world would disappear because of her impatience.
“Hello? Aaliyah, we found dad. He is surely here. Is everything okay on your side? I need some reinforcements. Things don’t look positive here. It’s as if they knew we would attack that base first,” Matthew said, and Aaliyah hummed.
“Ashton, you take these things back. Police would be here soon, and I don’t want you to get caught,” Aaliyah said, and Ashton nodded before leaving.
“Let’s save your boss, Hudson,” Aaliyah said before sitting on her dead beauty and leaving.
Meanwhile, Bryce and others, who were about to reach there in fifteen minutes, received a call from one of the men they sent.
“What do you mean? Nothing is left? The ambulance?” Bryce asked before ending the call.
“What happened?” Dominic asked, expecting the worst.
“It was Tyler. He said they reached the main base, but nothing was left there. The whole area has been blown up. The ambulance is taking away the injured people, and police cars have already appeared. Do you think it’s her?” Bryce asked, and for the first time, Dominic didn’t have an answer to such a question.
Was it really her?
