We all underestimated William Reid.
He actually had a force even I didn’t know about.
Right here in C country.
After being locked up for only three days, his men came storming in.
In the dead of night, they charged into the villa, firing at anyone they saw, but they didn’t harm me at all.
I instantly realized they were William Reid’s people.
Max Thomson was shot in the shoulder, blood streaming down.
Most of the people left in the villa were injured.
He shielded me while guiding me away.
“They won’t hurt me. Just go!”
Seeing Max Thomson’s blood-soaked back, my heart tightened.
He gripped my hand tightly, his voice strained:
“No, I can’t let him take you away.”
“I worked hard to get you back.”
As he spoke, two men blocked our path.
Max pursed his lips, the wound on his shoulder making it difficult for him to hold his gun.
I steeled myself and kicked out!
After fending off the two, more and more people surrounded us.
If they started shooting, Max would undoubtedly die.
After a few seconds of thought, I released Max Thomson’s hand and coolly said to the group:
“Let Max Thomson go, and I’ll come with you.”
