Layan could feel from every pore of his body that his companion was annoyed… annoyed with him, but this was no time to dwell on that. He stood up abruptly showing all his fangs.
-I’m not supposed to be here,- he shouted at her. The tension in her body was brutal and even more so now knowing that her wolf was there, where she least wanted her.
-Shhhh, don’t yell at me Layan. And I have every reason to be here- she answered him in a cold way, like when she had no emotions, although that way she got the wolf more out of temper.
-Priscila, this is very…
-Dangerous? I know, why do you think I’m here, it’s not like you’re going to do everything when I have to do with this too.
-Priscila didn’t…
But he was interrupted with a growl finding that his wolf had come between them and was baring his fangs at him. It was then that he reacted how he was treating his mate and that he was yelling at her. He couldn’t help it. Until a few seconds ago she was supposed to be safe next to her parents, not in danger there.
-You- this time he growled at his own wolf- We had made a promise, why did you break it?
-We underestimated her,- was what he heard from this one.
Layan closed his eyes for a second. Why didn’t he think about it. Priscilla wasn’t just any wolf and what she wanted she got. Deluded he thought he could just let her off the hook and she would submissively listen to him.
-What the hell did you do to get in,- he said through gritted teeth and a pounding headache. She was driving him crazy.
Priscilla smiled knowing that he had already accepted the fact that she was in front of him.
-Well, right now you have me knotted up, I just had to entertain your wolf a bit and he opened his mind to me. It was a little annoying at first as you both think I have all the experience in the world and it doesn’t hurt when we have sex, but I can deal with it.
Layan opened his eyes in shock.
-Anu what?- that was the only thing he had caught. His bloodshot eyes drifted to his counterpart, -You had sex with my she-wolf,- he growled possessively.
-She’s MY she-wolf,- Layan’s wolf responded with equal intensity.
And Priscilla didn’t know at what point the feud had shifted from Layan against Liam, to Layan against… Layan? Those two would sure be a lot more complicated to deal with.
And speaking of Liam this one woke up annoyed from sleep splintering the ice inside his mouth leaving his skin burned from the cold. With eyes infused with rage he turned to the newcomers and snarled.
-You… -You…
-SHUT UP,- replied together both Layan and his wolf who were locked in an argument. They were definitely not getting along at all.
Liam stood still for a second as their voices echoed in his head. That had been shocking, not because he had been told to shut up, but because of the force they had used. And that only made one thing clear to him, he had to get rid of both of them separately and fast, if they came together, with all the strength he possessed he would not be able to defeat him.
So he prepared to attack when a line of fire crossed in front of him and he took a step back. Raising his head he found that Priscilla had left her two wolves to their own and was focused on him. The image he saw was so familiar that it took him back to that moment where he had fought Nebraska herself. It was the spitting image of her, right down to the same eyes, only her essence… it was so much stronger.
-You won’t do anything to my wolf, Liam- the smile on her face had faded. Each of her arms was beginning to fill with a different colored mist and various scarlet and silver threads respectively moved over their fur. The she-wolf’s eyes glowed and her hair stirred. She was serious this time. And now that she was out of her body she had nothing to limit her… she could use her power without limitation.
Layan and his wolf felt the pressure and change in the atmosphere around them. And they swallowed dryly at the sight of Priscilla, it really was intimidating the way her power began to dance around her. They both knew that she would go down in history as the strongest wolf, as well as the queen of the most power, so she couldn’t let, under no circumstances could they let anything happen to her.
-Layan didn’t agree very much, but he was aware of what he had to do.
And apparently, so was her wolf. They might not get along mostly because of her dominant nature, but in the end their goal was one… and for her… everything.
Layan didn’t know if it would work, but he closed his eyes, breathing in hard. The warmth and cold that coursed through his companion invaded him the more it was comforting. It was then that he felt an immense pain in his hand that quickly occupied his chest and he grunted through clenched teeth to keep from screaming.
The heat now was a strange sensation, as if something was digging inside him, going deeper and deeper. As if new connections were being created inside him. As if his power, that which he had always had and had strengthened with hard work, was growing naturally, in a wild, accelerating way that even took his breath away.
It was something completely different from anything he had ever experienced before. A sensation that somehow and sometime he had felt only not complete. His mind went to the past, when he was a puppy, when he was vulnerable and so many images flashed through his mind, some that he no longer remembered, others that were so vivid….
-You… until you were by my side all the time- he murmured barely audible.
He had no answer, however, Layan didn’t need them. He knew very well which one it was.
A smile played on his lips as he opened his eyes where the wolf was no longer by his side. The blood inside his body began to pulsate, his muscles trembled and every cell in his body, now felt alive and with that Layan could affirm one thing. His wolf and he were now one.
And Priscilla was no stranger to that, so she gave him an up and down look as he stood beside her. It definitely wasn’t just the outside. Layan looked much stronger and imposing than before. Definitely the relationship between them and the display of power was going to be interesting.
So was the huge growl that shook everything around him. The petals of the white flowers came off dancing around those present at Liam’s snort. His body began to grow, his shoulders tightened and his orbs turned completely red. His fangs grew and his form resembled the one he had before he disappeared from the physical world.
-Maybe it’s time for history to repeat itself- Priscilla seemed relaxed despite the familiar situation.
-Damn them- by now Liam had reached an intimidating size and barely what he said was recognizable.
The two wolves looked at him without being daunted or intimidated by his presence. The two of them together felt so strong that their bond pulsed between them. They were in total sync.
-Priscilla- Layan beside her spoke without losing his attention from Liam- Don’t put yourself in danger.
She snorted under her breath.
-As you wish. I’ll be in the rear and watch your back- she tilted her head towards him- I’ll let you show off in front of me and show me all your power.
Layan this time was the one who smiled for the first time since all that.
-You’re really complicated to understand, my puppy.
-I’m not a puppy Layan, I’m the she-wolf that has you sweating all the time,- she corrected him and he had no argument to refute that.
-I’ll be right back, precious,- the alpha leaned in and left a quick kiss on her cheek to focus on Liam.
And lunge with all of them at him with a mist of ice and fire enveloping him as a protective barrier. He would end this as soon as possible, he had to hurry… because he felt it… his she-wolf’s time was running out.
