Royal smile

Book:Alpha's hostage Published:2024-10-15

Layan was possessive. Much more than he appeared. He was like a child with his first toy and he couldn’t help it. He was an alpha, but most of all he was an alpha.
So…
Let him go out into the yard and find the she-wolf who supposedly declared him hers because fate dictated it, sitting astride his beta. And incidentally, leaning over this one as it were was not the most pleasing image for him.
And of course.
The beast inside him came out and he did nothing to stop it.
-PRISCILA- he growled possessively at her, so loudly that the window panes of the castle shook.
The named one who happened to have her back to him straightened slightly and looked over her shoulder. There was an unusual twinkle in her eyes and her smile didn’t seem so fake.
-Layan– she showed even more of her white teeth where her fangs were very marked.
Kei, below her, raised her head a little and it was then that Layan was able to visualize the situation better by cooling her mind a little. Yes, the she-wolf was sitting on top of him, but her hands were burying their claws in the beta’s forearm who was defending his chest with one hand while with the other he maneuvered to get her off him. They both had so many scratches on their bodies and bruises that they looked like they had been falling off a cliff.
He closed his eyes and ran his hand over his face. He had misread their positions. They weren’t… intimate. It was simply training and knowing those trainings from their beta it was normal for them to be like that. He already understood what the guard who had come to pick him up had told him.
-He sighed and his shoulders slumped, -How the hell did they get in that state? He didn’t know why, but somehow he felt relief and that was when he reacted.
Maybe that had been jealousy. He pursed his lips at this. So far Priscilla had seemed like a booger glued to his body all the damn time, including his sleeping hours. But just the thought that she would be by someone’s side was like every cell in his body vibrated claiming her.
He felt an itch in his fangs. The mark on the she-wolf’s neck called to him and just the thought of burying them to the base made him salivate.
And then what…
-Layan, what’s wrong?- Priscilla with a nearly black eye, blood trickling from the edge of her busted lip and a very dark mark on her neck asked him as she noticed that he had frozen with a blank stare.
But she received no answer. Instead she found herself lifted up and a foot ended up buried in her stomach and thrown four meters away. The sound caused her to let out a high-pitched whimper that woke the wolf from his lately accustomed internal ramblings.
-Kei- he reprimanded the beta. The wolf wasn’t even holding back from hitting Priscilla- You want to kill her. She’s a she-wolf, not the brutes you train.
He went down the stairs and almost ran towards her who was left panting on the floor with her eyes closed. There was a pressure in his chest. He had always seen her with total grandeur, she hadn’t even said anything when her sister had bitten her.
Yes he had cried but verbatim words from her, that he had faked.
-Priscilla,- he knelt down beside her with a frown. Perhaps it would have been better to strengthen her first before handing her the beast of his beta on a platter.
-Alpha, I think you’re misunderstanding something, again- Kei remained sitting in place shaking the leaves out of her blonde hair that had grown to brush the nape of her neck and combed back, though it was now a total mess- she’s the one who was hurting me-.
Layan’s eyes focused on him and then on Priscilla, whose eyes were squeezed shut.
-Are you playing with me? You are the beta of my pack. Only I am above you. Not even my commander can handle you. You can tell me how the hell a pup can beat you up,- he sounded skeptical.
Kei raised an eyebrow, not at his words but at the arms reaching nimbly towards the alpha’s neck. And these same arms wrapped around Layan’s neck and soon had him lying on the ground, so fast he didn’t see it coming. Let alone the weight on his hips and his lips being sealed.
Priscilla was kissing him. But…
Not romantically.
-He heard her murmur against his lips and their gazes met.
And Layan shivered. He lifted his hand, placed it on her head and pressed down deepening the kiss. He opened her mouth with his tongue and let his fluids join with Priscilla’s, doing what she had asked. Healing her, but maybe something more.
Kei was still there, sitting up. He was dodging her gaze on them but still felt it necessary to stake out the ground.
For Layan feeling insecure didn’t go with him and he needed to work with a clear head without having to be thinking about his supposed future mate being courted by some wolf.
He squeezed her slender waist downward feeling the body above him take on strength. Her saliva did know how to do the job, at least internally. For the outside he would either lick it off or have sex with her to heal them quickly. For the moment he would have to settle for speeding up the healing process.
When he released her head, Priscilla pulled away from him leaving a trickle of saliva joining both lips and he thought she would blurt out some comment concerning what had happened. But he was totally wrong.
Instead of having the expected attention, she simply smiled, and despite the state of her body she got up and ran in the direction of Kei who was already waiting for her on her feet. And again they started throwing punches back and forth.
Layan could see directly how she quickly learned from Kei’s movements even when she was hit. And she was hitting back with double the force. He already understood the beta’s words. Priscilla was by no means a weak wolf.
Train her?
Why the hell hadn’t Hades or Nebraska told her they had something as lethal as a daughter?
Now he feared that if he seriously bothered her he might lose a limb. The very thought of this made him grunt and stand up finding some trouble inside his pants. At some point when they were kissing he had felt a little better than fine and that was evidence with the erection he carried.
Really, in a situation like this?
He exhaled sharply and pulled away from the two wolves. Neither noticed when the alpha left them. They were more engrossed in their own fight. One that would last quite a while.
It was getting dusk. Layan put the things down on his desk and crumpled up the letter from his Commander. He had already finished his work at the borders and needed to rest for a few days so he had asked for leave. He would not deny her. Victore was someone who had shown what he was worth.
He stood up and stretched his bones and looked out the window of his office. The view was wide and from there he could define in the distance where Kei and Priscilla were previously. They were gone, though.
-At least it looks like they got tired of beating each other up. Beasts- he smiled slightly remembering the twinkle in Priscilla’s eyes.
If it weren’t for the fact that he knew she couldn’t feel anything he could tell she was having fun. But she had said it, she had no emotions. And that was a shame.
A fleeting thought of what the she-wolf’s real smile would look like crossed his mind and he bit his fingernail. What the hell had happened in the last few hours that he was thinking about her every minute? He’d even had to use her image in order to break free like a pubescent wolf in the bathroom. He swore he wouldn’t be embarrassed about it but it was hard.
He walked to his room clearing his mind. His life couldn’t revolve around the she-wolf. No, no and n…
Why the hell was that the first thing he saw when he walked into his room?
Priscilla was literally lying like a sack on the couch, face down. Her hair was a ruined tangle covering her face. Her body had so many bruises it was unbelievable, plus scratches everywhere. His clothes were in tatters.
But in spite of all that, she was breathing calmly and on her lips, which were barely visible, there was a small smile.
One that seemed… real.
Without being able to avoid it, he approached her, fascinated by the beautiful curve of her lips, and he prayed them softly with his fingers.
-ayan?- her voice came out mushy five seconds after she felt the wolf’s touch and smell.
-He straightened up, breaking the contact and putting his hands in his pants pockets, lest he take them somewhere else.
-I just sat up for a moment but my eyes were so heavy,- her voice was barely a whisper.
-You and Kei didn’t hold back,- he bowed his head.
-It was… funny.
And those words made him turn pale.
