I kept staring in shock, what have I done? I asked myself. I let that traitor slip out of my fingers when I could have ended her. All this while she was on Sparrow’s side.
Damn it!
“Bitches, they’ll go anywhere the money is.” Cole said but this wasn’t about money to Natalia.
“You don’t understand Cole.” I said and he seemed confused. “She was supposed to be at her aunt’s place after staying at the hotel which I paid for and provided security.” I explained. I was still in disbelieve. She had me fooled so bad. How did I not think she was capable of being Sparrow’s accomplice? Her jealousy for Thea must have eaten deep into her heart.
The scorn of a woman it was fucking real.
“I’m beginning to think you are kind.” Cole said standing in front of me. He looks back at the screen and turns his gaze back to me. “You protected a whore?” I sighed, knowing that in our world, whores didn’t matter but as I said before, ever since Thea came into my life I had become a man with more heart than before.
“Long story.” I said in a low voice.
“I’m guessing a story for another day?”
“You guessed right.” I quickly said, I wasn’t ready to entertain him with my history with Natalia. I remain silent, digging into my sense of reasoning. How did I let such a thing escape me? I guess I felt pity for Natalia because being jealous and heartbroken was a terrible feeling. I guess I wanted to believe her so I fucked it up real bad.
I laugh in disbelieve, shaking my head in disappointment. I did doubt that sparrow sent her to spy on me, she must have been acting on her own accord. I believed her aim was to get on my side after betraying me. Turns out my rejection made her move to sparrow’s side again.
“I can’t believe this, she lied to me. How could I have let her into my house?” I expressed my disappointment. At least she was right about his northern ally. Still…. How could she?
“A desperate whore equals an enemy. She would do anything to have you Angel. We all know she was crazy about you and now watching her conversations with sparrow few times confirmed her aim.” Cole said and I could only shake my head. Natalia thought she could make-do with Sparrow’s alliance. I knew she wanted to harm Thea and sparrow wanted Thea for himself. There was a contrast of interest and sparrow would get rid of her should his plan succeed but he’d never succeed and I was going to make sure of that.
“Kill Thea….” Those words suddenly grabbed my attention. Natalia had said that with so much anger in her voice. She hated Thea that much to want her dead. I decided that I needed to pay much attention to their conversation and I did. I listened to the entire conversation and after a while another man enters. I assumed it was Manuel. It begins to get dirty when they ask for a threesome and Natalia begins to strip. I didn’t want to look at her, she did disgust me.
“And now, my favourite part. You can join me or excuse yourself.” Cole said going to sit on a couch. He seemed really excited but I couldn’t stand any of them.
“I’ll excuse myself.” I said turning away to leave.
“She is hot!” Cole yells stopping me.
I scoff and turn to him.
“You don’t know the meaning of that word till you meet my woman.” I said and turned away to leave.
“Thea!” She’s an incredible dancer but I know you’d kill me before you let me speak of her in the manner I speak of Natalia!” He yells after me and begins to laughs while I walk off giving him no more of my attention.
“Are we heading home now boss Or do you need me to find out more. That was a huge information he gave you.” Mike said once we were outside.
“I know Mike.”
“We can’t trust him completely. I’ll make sure he doesn’t have something fishy going on.” He continued and I was in agreement.
“My instincts about his honesty is certain but still find out all you can.” I said.
“Yes boss.”
An awkward silence came after his response, I was just standing there indecisive of my next line of action.
“Are we heading home or do you need me to do something else?” Mike asked looking at me curiously, just then I made a decision.
“Infact yes.” I said and he simply nodded. “You can do your research once we get home but for now you and I are going on a date.” I said patting his shoulder and shock envelopes his face.
“What?”
“I mean not literal date.” I say trying not to roll my eyes at his quick assumptions. He sighs in relieve and I sneer at him. “We are going to get flowers for Thea.”
“And you need me there.” I understood it was a question even though he tried not to sound like he was was questioning me.
“… Because I’m not going alone, you’re my assistant today, so you go wherever I go.”
“I understand.” He said but his response had an undertone to it. Yes, meaning ‘I understand but don’t want to be there with you. I guess it was weird for him but I was happy to do it. This was for Thea, I only hoped she’d like the choice of flowers but then I realized….
“Also, I know nothing about flowers. The one I got for Lola in the past was sent by you.” Mike suddenly erupts in laughter and I wondered how bad I must have sounded. I knew men got women flowers, It was never my thing. I only did it for formalities when my step father and Lola’s father tried to make a loving relationship out of us.
“What?” I asked finding his sudden laughter to be exerggerated.
“And every other flower you send for business purpose. I got them all.” Shit! Was that the reason for such annoying laughter.
“Are you saying I had no contribution? I practically paid for them.”
“I wasn’t going to take credit for that.” He defended.
“Good, now let’s go.”
Fuck him! It was bad already that I never got these flowers and now he was rubbing it to my face that I didn’t give flowers genuinely to the other women. Like I said, it was all formalities. Thea was different.
I really didn’t know what flower Thea would like. I didn’t want to get her something she’d be allergic to or not fancy but I couldn’t call her on the phone to ask her preferred choice, that would defeat the purpose.
We finally got to the flower shop and a feeling of unease settled in me. It was awkward for me but still thrilling.
