Thea
I held Angel’s arms, being so clingy as I saw him off to the car. I was going to be lonely today because he had decided to take Mike with him, giving the men the day to rest and spend time with the girls. I had Florentine to keep me company but it wasn’t the same as being with Angel. Florentine was off to the clinic and had offered me to come with her but I didn’t want that.
“You’re really leaving.” I say, twitching my lips, my sadness was unhidden and I wished there would be a last minute solution. Angel stops himself from entering the car once he heard me say those words. He takes my hands and pulls me close, his thumbs finds the back of my ears and he rubs them soothingly. He places a kiss on my forehead and pulls away to study my expression.
“I feel so bad right now.” He said and his eyes looked like he was thinking of something. A solution was my guess but then he shut his eyes briefly, sighing in frustration. He couldn’t come up with anything.
“Do you think if I knew the family’s business it would be appropriate for me to come with you?” I asked coming from a place of desperation.
Angel squints at me and I could tell that wasn’t an option for him. “I don’t want you to ever think of that. I would never involve you in this business.”
“But….”
“No buts Thea. You can do whatever you want but not this business. I really wish I can just protect you from all of this.” He says and I dip my head knowing it was all in good intention.
Cassandra, the real heir had been made to sit out on her inheritance just to protect her so there was no way Angel was going to involve me in it and truth be told, I didn’t want to be involved too but felt the need to be informed a bit.
Angel pulls me into his arms and hugs me, stroking my hair gently. It was just a few hours, I had been through worse lonely days. “I’ll be back as soon as I can.” He said, kissing my knuckles and I nodded. The sooner he left the sooner I expected him to come back. So I reconciled with that fact.
“Text me?” I say softly but he looks unsure.
“I’ll try.” There was no telling what Cole had to say to Angel and how things would actually turn out today so not making promises was wise of him.
“I’ll miss you.” I whisper.
“Fuck this! Why do I have to go today. I could just call and cancel this meeting. It shouldn’t be that bad.” He blurts and it causes me to chuckle softly.
“Its really important boss.” Angel snaps his head in Mike’s direction glaring at him for his remark. “Sorry to interrupt boss.”
“Don’t be too mean. He was just doing his job. Besides, I know you really need to go.” I said rubbing his chest and beaming a smile at him.
” I’ll miss you too much.” He smiles back before entering the car. Mike whispers a thank you to me and I understood it was about earlier, for saving his ass from Angel. Their vehicle finally zoom off while I wave at them. I sigh deeply, getting mentally ready for my next stop.
To see Carl.
I searched for Carl in his room but he wasn’t there so I asked some maids about him since he was popular among them and I should have asked earlier because they had an instant answer.
I walked towards the garden area and found Carl talking to a maid. I chuckle and shake my head.
Man whore….
I curse at him within and laughed it off.
The moment I got close, the maid noticed me, she startled and quickly excused herself. Carl tilted his head to get a glimpse of me as well before finally turning to me.
“I thought I’d be your first stop. I guess I’m at the bottom list of your priorities.” He says looking slightly pained.
“Now don’t be like that. I wanted to save enough time for you.” I said hoping to soothe his hurting heart.
“Hmm….” He hums and folds his arms across his chest, giving me a look of disbelieve.
“You scared off my work in progress.” He says and I shrug looking behind me to see the maid still walking in a haste.
“I thought you had an A-game at catching them.” I teased.
“Not really, not all of them are easy. So I have to convince them.”
“Didn’t think you’d convince one to have sex with you seeing she was already flirting with you.”
“Alright, alright. I was asking about you and if there’s been any rumours.” He finally confessed to my surprise. “I don’t have sex with just any one. I only go for the ones who present themselves to me.
“I see… but you were asking about me? That’s a surprise.” Carl remains silent and his face turns serious.
“You’re really back with Angel.” He says in a displeased tone. That was the information he had tried to get out of the maid. Did he think I wouldn’t be honest with him? I sigh deeply knowing he wasn’t a fan of my relationship and the fact that in a way this was betrayal to him. Still being with the man that almost killed him. I couldn’t imagine his disappointment.
“I’m sorry.” I mutter. I know I was totally fucked up for doing that but then things happened and life wasn’t fair not even to me. I got one shot at happiness and I had to put myself first.
“No, no. You don’t need to be sorry about that Thea.” He says to my surprise again. “Except you have doubts about getting back with him.” He continues, shocking me even more. I thought he’d yell at me and express his disappointment but this was all unexpected.
“I don’t have doubts. I’m in love with him and I chose to forgive him.”
“Then you should own your decision with your heart and never feel sorry to anyone about it. It’s your happiness we are talking about.” Carl says and I still find it hard to believe. What caused his change of heart?
“Does that mean you approve of us?” I say with a glint of hope hanging in my chest. I wait for his response which seemed to take forever.
