Thea
Angel walked behind me as we went for breakfast. Somehow it was nerve tickling knowing we were very late for breakfast. We just had to make a statement, letting them know that we were being naughty in our room. That was the only explanation to us coming this late.
“And you’re late for breakfast again. Three days in a row.” Cassandra says the moment we step into the kitchen. All eyes are on us including Florentine’s curious ones. We were yet to break the news to her, a news she already had her guess about. I smiled at everyone and greeted while Angel remained silent. I could tell he was watching me intently because I had a burning sensation on my back and this always happened whenever he had his eyes glued on me.
“From what I remember you and Knight came late as well. Three days in a row….” Camila said coming to my defense. Cassie seemed to have been quick to forget. The first night at the penthouse she and Knight were the last to join breakfast and I was told she came late as well the last two nights just that Angel and I seemed to have it worse.
She looks at Camila in disbelieve. Did she think my best friend would let her have an edge over me? “At least we came earlier than them.” She said in her defense but Knight stops eating, looking at Cassandra. He doesn’t seem pleased with her comment as he hisses at her.
“That doesn’t sound good to me at all.” He says and Cassandra blinks, taking strands of her hair to the back. I clear my throat dragging everyone’s attention. We all knew what Knight was insinuating. He needed to do more to keep her in bed for longer. That sounded hot, I could say Cassandra was in trouble from today. Everyone passed awkward glances at each other because of Knight’s comment. It excited them.
“Shall we?” Florentine says and we begin to eat.
“So….” Florentine starts, interrupting us while we were eating. I knew she was eager to hear the truth about Angel and I. Everyone gives them her attention Angel and I look at each other knowingly. Angel places his hand above mine, squeezing into his palm and we both smile.
I was excited.
“How was it?” She said. She was being curt with her words.
“Our vacation?” Caspian asks, I could tell he was eager too for whatever reason. “You are one sly bitch Florentine.” He said, nodding as if assuring himself that he was right with his words.
“Language, Caspian.” Camila scolded but she scoffed instead, acting nonchalantly. We all knew he was talking about the truth and dare game.
“She earned the title trust me.” He says trying to convince Camila but she snaps at him with a mean stare and he twitches his lips.
“And trust me Camila, I’m not offended. I would have been if it were before but Caspian has grown tremendously since he has been with you and I can say without a doubt that he is a changed man. His intentions aren’t bad, don’t be too uptight.” Florentine said with a smile on her face assuring Camila. She was right, Caspian had really gone through some character development ever since he fell in love with Camila. He wasn’t that rude, terrible jerk I used to know him for. I used to tag him as the one with anger issues and from the things Camila told me about him it was one toxic relationship before love set in but she was able to forgive him and he had been making up for his mistakes.
We all laugh at her remarks, relating to our experiences with him and his temper.
“I would have been disappointed if you weren’t shocked about the game.” She continued. “So tell me the rest of it.” She says excitedly.
“Well, what do you want know?” Angel asks, eager to tell about our reconciliation. I beam a smile at him, I took was eager.
“Everything… Let’s start with….” She contemplates. “I mean, I have my guess but I’d like to hear it from you.” She said speaking to no one in particular but we knew that line of sentence was for me and Angel. “So did it work? The game? Did it bring you closer or come between you in one way or the other?” The place fell silent for some seconds before someone finally spoke.
“You sure did a good job on that one.” Knight says breaking the silence.
“Thank you. That’s really lovely to hear from you Knight.”
“Of course, you almost made my brother want to tear his limbs.” Cassie said as if she was waiting to confront her.
“That could have been hot!” Florentine says excitedly.
“Are you being serious now Florentine?” Cassie said not finding it funny. She fought to defend Knight from Angel. I was certain that if she had remained silent that night, things might have escalated between the two men.
“Why not?” Florentine answered.
“You’re a sly bitch.” Cassie swore and Knight burst into laughter along with the rest of us. Florentine blows a kiss to her and she sneers. Something was different about Florentine today, who knew she could be this sly? I laugh within, at least she stepped out of her shell and did what none of us could think of doing. She made us confront our fears and doubts. She broke the table and did our minds dirty. She was tougher than she looked. Knowing what she did could potentially ruin us and still do it, she was really strong for that.
“Camila?” She continues with her questions. Camila sighs then looks at Caspian who looks back at her lovingly.
“That was a really tough decision you made to play such a game with us.” Camila said. I believed her question with Caspian was the toughest yet they pulled through it.
“I’m sorry.” Florentine said stretching forth her hand to hold Camila’s. She did look genuinely sorry that she did such a thing to them.
“You did your best Flor, but I’d say try again.” She said daring her. The lovers had settled and were waxing stronger than ever now.
“You didn’t cry?” Florentine asked beaming with a sly smile.
“Of course we did.” Camila said passing a glance at Caspian. They both seemed embarrassed but laughed it off.
“I envy your love for each other. I wonder if I could find love like you all have.” She sounded really emotional and it got all of us thinking.
“So, how was your stay here? Hope it wasn’t so lonely without us.” I chip in, I also wanted to know about how she coped staying away from all of us.
“I missed you guys a lot but I was satisfied knowing you were spending time together.”
“Nothing special happened while we were away?” Angel says getting interested. I looked at him, thanking him secretly for asking that. I knew we were all suspicious after her earlier remark.
“Nothing.” She said sounding sure but something flickered in her eyes.
“Are you sure?” Knight asks leaning forward and getting others more interested but Florentine shakes her head as if in denial. “Nevermind. ”
“Did something really happen Florentine?” Cassandra insist.
“Yes, did something happen? I could swear I saw your eyes flicker with worry just now.” I decided to confront her but she laughs pretentiously.
“Come on. Of course not. Truth is that I was so bored and lonely without you guys.” There was silence for some seconds but then we nodded but had our doubts. She was definitely hiding something and it wasn’t going to be revealed today. The men gave us a certain look and we understood they were asking us to find out later.
“Back to you guys. Thea, Angel?” She said clearing the tension amongst us. “There’s something you haven’t told me about.” The smiles return to our faces and the mood in the room gets elevated.
“I’m sure you’ve guessed it already.” I say in a low voice feeling shy then I look at Angel. He was staring so passionately at me and it made my heart leap excitedly. We trail out gaze back to Florentine and I part my lips to say. “We are back together.”
The place falls silent again and we watch Florentine blink as if she had been in disbelieve and things just started seeming real to her.
“Wow….” She mutters and her face turns emotional. She covers her face with her palms as she rests her elbows on the table then sniffs back her tears.

Her name fell off our lips at once as we got emotional seeing her tear up.
“No, don’t tell me you’re crying.” Cassandra said blinking back her tears as well. Caspian clicked his tongue and Knight took Cassie into his arms. Camila tried hard to hide her tears but couldn’t. She was just as softhearted as Florentine.
I looked at Angel and this was quite emotional for us.
“Flor….” I called rubbing her shoulder as my eyes watered as well. “Don’t do this please.” I sniff back my tears.
She raises her head wiping her tears off then she turns to Angel and I.
“It’s just that… I’m so happy.” She says and I quickly pull her into my arms. She tears up even more while I stroke her hair to soothe her. She breaks away from the hug after her tears dies down. “You deserve to be happy Thea… I’m amazed at how big your heart is. To forgive such….” Her voice cracks and tears flowed down my face this time. Florentine looks over to Angel and hold his hand as well. She smiles at me while I wipe the tears off my face.
“I’m glad you guys made this work. You’ve gotten a second chance Angel. Don’t you ever mess it up.” She says with a crack in her voice.
“I would never….”
“Yes, you should never mess it up.” She says and pause for some seconds. “Thea should be loved the way she deserves to be loved and you’re going to do everything you can to make everyday of her life worth coming back to you.” She said with a hard voice now.
“I swear it….” He said and I look at him, his words got me more emotional. “I would never take this chance for granted and will do everything I can to make you never regret it.” He said caressing my cheek. I place my hand above his and kiss his palm.
I nod and a line of tear forms on my face. “I trust you.” I said. Angel wipes my tears gently and pulls me into his embrace.
“I need a hug from the both of you.” We heard Florentine say behind us and we erupted in laughter. We stand to our feet and she pulls us into her arms. The others come and rally around us as well, sharing this emotional moment with us.
They all had become family to me and I couldn’t have been any luckier.
