“I’ve always been close to Cassie, I knew there was something more to how much I always wanted to be around her but I was in denial because I wanted to see her as my little sister so I pushed those thoughts away.”
“So you started developing feelings for her when she was 17? A minor?”
There was a prolonged silence and it was getting really awkward.
“He has answered the question can we move on to mine?”
“He hasn’t answered mine so stay out of it Cassandra.” Angel warned.
” What does it matter? We are together now and we love each other.” Cassandra said and I could hear the worry in her voice. That look that said what if her brother disapproved of their relationship because of the truth.
“It wasn’t right and I still lie to myself to this day.”
“You don’t have to answer that my love.” Cassandra said tugging him.
“That’s pedo behaviour you know?”
“Seriously there isn’t much difference between 17 and 18.”
“There’s a difference Cassandra. 17 is a minor, 18 is an adult.”
“I never made any advances on Cassandra not once. I respected her and still do very much.”
“He pushed me away so much that he broke my heart. He was my first heartbreak that I felt like killing myself. So he did nothing wrong.” Cassandra said coming to his defense. I didn’t want to get involved, there were limits to interfering with Angel’s behaviour. This was his sister we was talking about.
“Next question.” Angel said relaxing back. Knight looked visibly ashamed of himself. I couldn’t blame him if he developed feelings for Cassandra at 17, hearing about their history together, it was possible but at least he recognized it was wrong and ignored his feelings untill she was 19. In all this they looked so perfect together, they were meant for each other.
Infact, our relationships went against moral standards. We were all in a forbidden relationship so how could any of us judge the other?
“For you Cassie….” I said softly seeing she was a little bit shaken.
“Did you ever have any sexual thoughts about Knight even while you were underage, I mean below 18?” I twitched my lips this time. These questions were triggering but seriously? I had my first sex when I was 14 so at 17 Cassie was matured enough to think of Knight in that manner. I mean she could think of any guy of her age that way so I didn’t see why thinking of an older guy would be any different. Thoughts were bitches on their own and our mind held the dirtiest and most immoral thoughts and desires that we could never share.
“The answer is yes. I’ve loved him ever since I was 17 so yes, I thought about him in such ways.” She was bold and I liked that. The double standards though. She could disrespect Knight in her mind but he couldn’t feel anything for her at that age even when he pushed her away and never acted on it.
I was done questioning so the bottle shifted to them. I felt Cassandra wanted her revenge on Angel especially after seeing what she saw earlier but unfortunately for her the bottle turned to Caspian and Camila.
“Caspian for you.” Knight said starting the question.” How did it feel to punish a man while you used his sister?”
Now damn!!! That was evil but in the instructions we were warned of a trigger. Caspian clenched his jaw and looked quite uncomfortable.
“What are the consequences of not answering?” He said instead. “I mean what’s the dare?
“The dare is to release Camila to her brother immediately.”
“Fucking shit…. Florentine.” He said through gritted teeths.
“I want to hear the truth.” Camila said. This was an opportunity for her to return to her brother and she was throwing it
away for truth? With Caspian’s initial response it was obvious that he was stalling like Cassie said and had no intentions of taking Camila back.
“Camila….”
“The truth Caspian.”
“I was an asshole.”
“That’s not an answer. Did it feel good?” Camila asked getting emotional. ” Did you enjoy hurting my brother and sleeping with me right after?” Her voice had already gone teary and I really wanted to stop this game but it wasn’t up to me.
Caspian stared at her for a while, a mixture of regret and fear clading his face. With much difficulty he answered.
“Yes.”
Camila let out a shaky breath and gulped hard, she breathed through her mouth and blinked back her tears. She was really hurt and I felt sorry for her. Caspian palmed his face for some seconds before releasing it, the question had cut him deep.
“Should we stop this game?” I asked concerned for everyone.
“No, we already started and we haven’t gotten to you and Angel. I don’t know what Florentine’s plan is, to break us or to make us stronger. We’ll find out after this game.” Cassandra said, her voice emotional as well.
“Camila your turn.” She said picking up the question card. ” With everything Caspian has done to you and your brother, on gun point who would you choose to save. Caspian or Theo?”
Not again… I felt like Caspian and Camila’s questions were the most triggering. Camila looked speechless and she blinked severally.
“What’s the dare?” She asked. It had to be the most triggering if they both asked for the dare option.
“You will have to break up with Caspian.” Cassie said and she gasped then gulped hard. Caspian looked really scared, I could understand his fear. After his earlier answer would she still want to be with him?
“Who would you save?” Cassie asked again and Camila hesitated before parting her lips to speak. Guilt washes all over her, and tears pooled her eyes.
“Caspian.” She answered and Caspian looked surprised. I wasn’t surprised because I could relate to her. She wiped off the tears that streamed her eyes, she needed to before the pain of guilt ate her up. She was choosing the same man that hurt her brother over him, what greater betrayal could there be for her? Again we were all cursed with this forbidden love.
The game went on, some questions were light and some deeper. The bottle turned to Angel and I for the first time and I got really nervous. Knight and Cassandra were asking and probably this was her time to get her revenge on her brother.
“Thea this is for you.” Knight decided to ask me instead.
“Are you still in love with Angel after everything that has happened?” I blinked and glanced at Angel. There was nothing to hide here.
“I’m still in love with him.” I said and there was an intense silence.
“There’s a second part to it. Would you still be in love with him had he succeeded in killing Carl?” I let out a shaky breath. I was filled with guilt, if Carl was here I wouldn’t be able to answer this question because I’d just be as evil.
“I-I…. Yes.” I answered and felt stabs of guilt to my heart. I could feel Angel watching me. Yes, he should know how much he held me captive.
“Wow….” Cassie muttered.
“Angel for you.” Cassandra said and our attention shifted to him. “What extent would you go to have Thea by your side? Are you willing to kill for her?”
Angel let out a deep breath and I could tell he had chosen to tell the truth already.
“I’d kill for her as much as I’d die for her.” He answered.
“What do you mean? Who exactly would you kill to have her by your side?” Cassandra pressed further.
“Anyone who tries to take her away from me.” He said and I didn’t know what to think or feel about it. He had always said this even before our fall out especially during our intimate moments.
“Even her mother?”
“Come on Cassandra I would never.” A satisfied smile played on her lips as she withdrew.
“Do you even have plans of letting her go? Or you’re just stalling.”
“That’s not part of the question.” Angel answers and I know Cassandra is right. He was going to keep me until he was sure I was completely his.
Cassandra laughs and drops the card.
We make the last spin of the day and when it got to our turn Camila and Caspian were the ones to ask.
“I didn’t write this but the question here says… I mean you don’t need to answer if you don’t want to.” Camila said
“What’s the question camila.” I asked calmly. Cassie looks over it as well. I guess her curiosity got the best of her.
“There’s a dare. You’ll have to kiss each other if you won’t answer.” Cassie said.
“Shit! That’s petty.” Knight says amusingly.
“Then I guess it’s truth then.” Cassie says demandingly.
“Truth.” I say, this was the moment of truth and I was going to tell it.
