Thea
Angel makes his way into my room and I just watch and ogle as he checks out the place. He looks out through my window and turns his gaze to me.
“You’ll be sleeping alone tonight.” He said and I dart my eyes from side to side as he approaches. “Call me if you need anything.”
I nod but hate the fact that he wasn’t offering to sleep over. Angel moves close to me and cups my cheeks rubbing it with his thumb at the same time
“I’ll go drop my stuff now. Do have a good night.” He said and pecked me goodnight.
“You too.”
“I love you.” He says stroking my hair.
“I love you too.” I respond smiling passionately at him. I would miss him so much. I watch Angel walk towards my door but then something hit me, a realization.
“… But it’s not goodnight yet… Dinner?” I said worriedly knowing we had to face the others. But now Caspian and Cassie would have told their lovers. Angel returns to me.
“You’re coming down my love. Don’t run away from it.” He says seeing through my plans to escape dinner.
“But I don’t think I’m ready.”
“You’ll be fine and I’ll be there with you.” He said assuring me. I trust him because I feel safe with him. We go down for dinner together and it feels awkward that we were the last to come down and together.
“You really took your time, I was about coming up to your room to call you Thea.” Camila said beckoning me to join the table.
“What took you so long?” Knight whispered to Angel even though I could hear him. I watched both Camila and Knight and then Cassie and Caspian. Angel and I exchanged glances, it dawned on us that both Cassie and Caspian had not told them. I didn’t know if I should be grateful or take it as a clue that they wanted us to tell the truth ourselves.
“Let’s eat now they are here.” Knight said. We dug into our food and thankfully Caspian acted like nothing had happened and made the dining lively. Usually Caspian, Florentine and Cassandra were the cheer party in the house. Caspian would always say funny things, cassandra was a lively person and her presence alone brightened up the place. Florentine had a way of bringing up things to talk about. After a moment of acting moody Cassandra couldn’t fight her nature and joined to make the dinning fun. She was so into knight and couldn’t help being romantic with him.
We cleared the table once we were done and took care of the dishes while the men went to the sitting room to watch TV.
I had pursued Knight who came to stay with Cassandra and he had dragged Caspian along with him. Angel didn’t bother coming around, he was the first to sit at the living room. Once we were done with cleaning the ladies joined the men and I was left confused on where to sit. Who would I be pretending for when two out of the four knew and I’d be making them look more stupid by keeping up with the act.
“Ain’t you joining us?” Cassie asked drawing everyone’s attention to me including Angel who looked concerned that he had to stand to walk towards me. I pleaded with my eyes for him to keep his distance.
“I’ll just retire to bed early.”
“No, that’s not happening Thea.” Knight said and Caspian nodded. “We are all here to relax and we don’t want you feeling uncomfortable.” He said referring to Angel’s presence.
“I’m not uncomfortable.” I said forcing a chuckle.
“Then stay.” Camila urged.
I go to sit in the same couch Angel sat. I just acted without much thought, I could feel his gaze burning at me the entire time while everyone watched TV.
It was so uncomfortable and nerve wrecking wondering how I was going to admit to everyone about our relationship. I knew Caspian and Cassie were waiting for that to happen.
The program we were watching soon finished and I could breath now. At least there was nothing else to do and I could go back to my room.
“I’ll be heading to my….”
“It’s time for games… I’m excited.” Cassandra said cutting me off.
“What games?” I asked confused.
“Oh… Cassandra found some play cards around. It’s a truth or dare game.” Camila said feeling excited as well.
“Isn’t Florentine petty?” Caspian said smiling at Angel who just scoffed. The air between him and Caspian wasn’t hostile unlike the vibe Cassandra was giving me. Men were just simple creatures.
“A truth or dare? We could always play it some other time.”
“No! No no no.” Cassie insisted. “It would set the mood for our stay here. Florentine even mentioned it in the instructions. So I trust her judgement.
Everyone else seemed to agree with it, I couldn’t be the only odd one out and Angel didn’t seem to care.
We all sat around the center table with Angel to my left and Camila to my right.
They all chose me to start the game, according to the instructions we were to play as couples, so Angel and I were to start. We rolled the bottle and it pointed to Cassie and Knight.
I looked at the question and my eyes widened.
“We’re ready.” Cassandra said and I nodded.
“It says, for how long have you been in love with your besfriend’s sister? Knight this is for you.” I said and Caspian and Camila made some teasing sounds while Angel cleared his throat. Cassie twitched her lips and looked at Knight. He looked unsure.
“You need to tell us the exact time you knew you had feelings for her.” Caspian said. I could see he was excited as well. His turn was coming.
“I knew I was in love with Cassandra when she turned 18.” He answered and there was whispers amongst us.
“Are you saying you started seeing her differently the moment she became an adult. All of a sudden?” Angel confronted him and I hope they kept it cool. I didn’t think Angel would entertain the idea that Knight had eyes for his sister as a minor. I had a feeling this was only going to get heated.
