Upon hearing Jaime’s words, the chubby boy turned and ran.
Evie grabbed his arm, “Where are you going, little one? Is my son telling the truth?”
The chubby boy turned his face away and remained silent.
It was clear that the chubby boy was in the wrong.
“I won’t tell you,” the chubby boy said, his round face flushed red, avoiding eye contact with Evie.
“So it seems my son is telling the truth,” Evie smiled at the chubby boy’s parents. “Shouldn’t you apologize to my son?”
“Bullying other kids in kindergarten at such a young age, it’s truly astonishing,” Jasper said coldly. “I hope this never happens again.”
Before the chubby boy’s father could react, Jasper noticed a glass cup on the teacher’s desk. He smiled and picked up the glass. Before anyone could respond, there was a loud crash as the glass shattered in Jasper’s hand.
He calmly brushed off the glass shards and said to the teacher, “I’ll pay for it.”
The teacher was terrified. “No, no need…”
What kind of person was this? Iron Man? He crushed the glass without even cutting his hand!
The chubby boy’s parents stared at Jasper’s hand in disbelief, as if witnessing something out of a TV show.
The chubby boy’s eyes widened. “Jaime, is your dad a superhero? He’s amazing!”
His mouth hung open wide enough to fit an egg.
Jaime lifted his chin proudly. “My dad is not just a superhero; he’s also Spider-Man. He can climb walls! If anyone bullies me again, my dad won’t let them off!”
“Alright, let’s go,” Evie patted his shoulder.
Jaime basked in the chubby boy’s admiration but wasn’t ready to let him off. He walked up to him. “You must apologize to me and promise never to bully any classmates again. Otherwise…”
The chubby boy quickly said, “Okay, okay, I promise. Bro, I’m sorry. I was wrong before…”
His round head bobbed up and down like a pecking chicken, looking both funny and ridiculous.
Jaime walked out of the teacher’s office with his head held high, like a victorious little lion.
Evie caught up with him. “What do you want for dinner?”
“I had a tough day… Can we have KFC?” Jaime looked at Evie with hopeful eyes. Evie knelt down and pinched his cheek. “You sure know how to bargain. Let’s go.”
Jaime laughed again. He was already adorable, and his smile made him even more so.
He hadn’t expected Evie and Jasper to stand by him and support him.
This made him feel very warm inside.
He thought of Jaida and Urijah. Mom, Dad, don’t worry. I’ll live well and become strong to avenge you.
My new parents are also good to me. I will slowly come to love them, but… I will never forget you.
He suppressed his inner hatred and appeared as an innocent, smiling child while his heart was filled with darkness.
Hogan Family Villa
Olivia was finally discharged from the hospital. She lay on her wide, soft bed in her room, looking at everyone with a confused expression.
“Is it true? Are all these people my family? But… I don’t remember anything.”
The girl on the bed looked innocent and confused, her eyes filled with doubt.
“Olivia, I’m your big brother… Do you really not remember us?” Bryce’s eyes were filled with gloom and worry.
Just as the doctor had said, she had hit her head too hard when she tried to commit suicide by crashing into a wall, causing amnesia.
Since she woke up, her family had been telling her about each member of the family every day, but she couldn’t remember anything.
“No, I don’t remember anything,” Olivia said with an innocent smile. “Brother, are you married? Do I have a sister-in-law?”
Bryce’s face turned pale. “I don’t even have a girlfriend.”
“Mom, Dad, you need to hurry up and find him a girlfriend,” Olivia said with a playful smile. “The sunshine is so nice!”
“Forget it; it’s better that she forgets. It’s better than having depression. If she forgets, those symptoms should not appear,” Luca said with relief. “She’s like a baby now; those symptoms shouldn’t appear.”
“Olivia used to be so depressed and tried to commit suicide multiple times. Now that she’s forgotten everything, it’s not bad to start over,” Mrs. Hogan agreed that amnesia was good since her daughter wouldn’t be trapped in depression anymore.
Aside from their two sons Bryce and Dexter-Dexter was detained but knew about Olivia’s amnesia-Bryce was very troubled but knew he couldn’t abruptly tell Olivia anything now. He could only play the role of a caring big brother. “Olivia, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”
“No, I feel great everywhere. Do I have a job? Or am I still studying?” Olivia asked curiously.
“Uh, you stayed home because of your health before. Do you want to work? How about working at our family company?” Mrs. Hogan quickly said. “Olivia, what kind of job do you want?”
“Did I have good friends? I want to work with my good friends,” Olivia said with a playful smile. “I should have a best friend, right? Girls usually have best friends.”
Best friend?
Aside from being close to Carley, Olivia didn’t really have any other close friends.
Luca thought of Carley and couldn’t help but say, “You do have a best friend named Carley from the Kaur family… Do you want to work at Kaur Group?”
“Can I?” Olivia blinked her eyes. “Quickly, let Carley come play with me! I want to go shopping and eat with her.”
She excitedly jumped out of bed and started picking out clothes from her wardrobe.
The Hogan family watched her in shock; she was completely different from the old Olivia.
But soon Bryce said, “This Olivia is also good-lively and cheerful.”
But… when would Olivia fall in love with him?
If he acted rashly now, who knows what this new Olivia would do?
The old Olivia was submissive, but this new Olivia… Bryce couldn’t figure her out.
While he was deep in thought, Mrs. Hogan was already calling Carley. “Yes, yes, Olivia wants to work with you and go shopping and eat together. You’ll understand when you see her.”
Mrs. Hogan couldn’t hide her joy in her voice. “Can your brother arrange a position for her at Kaur Group? The salary doesn’t matter; what’s important is that she’s happy.”
“Auntie, don’t worry; I’ll drive over to pick up Olivia,” Carley said happily before calling Dariel. “Dariel, I need to talk to you.”
After hearing her out, Dariel found it strange. “Didn’t Olivia have depression? Can she work normally? Weird.”
“I heard she lost her memory and changed her personality. I’ll go check it out and take care of her in my office,” Carley said before driving off since she didn’t have much real work at Kaur Group anyway.
About half an hour later, Carley’s car arrived at the Hogan family villa.
As soon as she got out of the car, she saw Olivia walking towards the gate from the courtyard. Olivia was wearing a baseball outfit with AJ sneakers and a baseball cap-a very casual look.
This sporty style was something the old Olivia would never wear; she always dressed elegantly and ladylike.
Carley was stunned. “Olivia… you’ve changed your style?”
“How is it? Doesn’t it look good? I find it comfortable,” Olivia said with a sports camera bag slung over her shoulder. “Let’s go.”
When she saw Carley’s red Porsche, she whistled. “Wow, what a cool car.”
“If you like it, buy one yourself; it’s not expensive,” Carley said as she got into the car while Olivia sat in the passenger seat and rolled down the window to wave at Mrs. Hogan and Luca. “Mom, Dad, I’m going out.”
Mrs. Hogan worriedly told Carley, “Carley, please take care of Olivia.”
Bryce walked over at this moment and said, “Olivia, how about I go with you two beautiful girls? It’s not safe.”
Olivia rolled her eyes and retorted immediately. “No way! I’m not a child; I’m an adult! I don’t need you following me around like I’m in prison.”
Bryce’s face darkened; the old Olivia would never talk back like this.
He felt displeased but couldn’t show it.
He could only watch as Carley’s car sped away.
Luca and his wife hugged each other excitedly. “Wonderful! Olivia is so independent now.”
“Our daughter has finally grown up. Bryce, you need to learn to let go too; I know you care for your sister,” Luca said meaningfully before heading back inside with Mrs. Hogan.
Bryce’s face darkened as he followed them inside. He had no intention of letting go.
The Porsche sped down the road as Carley skillfully maneuvered it while Olivia admired her driving skills. “You’re really good at driving.”
“You can get a driver’s license too; I always told you to get one before,” Carley said as she made another sharp turn.
