“Well, now everything is clear! Rosalind, you can come back to work openly!”
Tilda was a straightforward person without any hidden agendas, so she naturally thought the matter could be put to rest. She didn’t realize that Sirena’s move wasn’t really an apology.
Rosalind didn’t want her to worry, so she smiled and said, “Yes.”
“Do you have time this weekend? How about we have a meal together to celebrate? My treat!”
“My mom’s health has taken a turn for the worse, so I can’t leave. Maybe after I’m done with that.”
Tilda sighed on the other end, “Alright, I’ll wait for you! If you need any help, just let me know. Don’t be shy. I don’t have much to do at the company anyway. Ever since you left, Mr. Chan has been giving me a hard time. I’m thinking of quitting!”
“Don’t… Stay well at Prosperity Holdings. Don’t let my situation affect you! Mr. Chan is actually quite capable, though he has a bit of a temper. You can learn a lot under him.”
That’s why Rosalind always endured Mr. Chan’s scoldings.
It wasn’t because she had no temper; she just wanted to gain more experience! After all, Mr. Chan had been in the investment industry for many years!
“Pfft! My brother said if it doesn’t work out, he’ll transfer me to his school so I won’t have to put up with this.”
Rosalind tugged at her lips and didn’t say anything further.
Yes, Tilda was different from her! Tilda had many paths she could take and many people who cared for her and planned her future. She didn’t have to make a name for herself in the investment industry to survive.
After listening to Tilda’s chatter for a while, Rosalind hung up the phone and saw that Ulric had already prepared breakfast and was standing at the bedroom door waiting for her.
His tall and slender figure almost filled the entire doorway.
“Tilda?”
“Yes.” Rosalind nodded, got up, changed her clothes, and followed him to the dining room.
Ulric seemed to have something to say; he opened his mouth several times but didn’t speak.
Finally, Rosalind broke the silence. “I saw Sirena’s social media.”
“… Don’t pay attention to her comments.”
“Ulric, would Sirena’s resignation have a big impact on W Group?”
She picked up a piece of toast, seemingly asking casually.
Ulric paused with his cup in hand, pursed his lips, “There are many excellent lawyers.”
“But the one who has made significant contributions to W Group is probably only her, right?”
This time Ulric didn’t deflect the topic but looked up at her. “What are you trying to say?”
“I-”
Before Rosalind could finish her sentence, Ulric interrupted coldly.
“No divorce.”
“… I didn’t say I wanted a divorce. Why are you so nervous?”
Ulric’s tense face finally relaxed a bit after hearing her say no divorce.
At that moment, Rosalind realized how much of a shadow she had cast over Ulric, making him so sensitive.
Rosalind took the initiative to reach out and hold his hand, looking into his eyes seriously.
“I said I would face this with you. You’ve done so much for me; in this relationship, I’m not qualified to speak of separation.”
She said this to reassure Ulric.
But his tightly knit brows didn’t relax.
“I don’t want you to overthink things or feel burdened. As long as it’s not about divorce, just tell me what you need, and I’ll handle it. You just focus on doing what you love.”
