Ulric instinctively glanced in a certain direction, as if sensing something, and immediately caught Rosalind’s gaze.
?I’ll wait for you.
After sending the message, he simply opened his work software and began reviewing documents.
Ever since Rosalind came into his life, Ulric no longer wanted to return to Easthaven Bay alone! He felt that only with a lady of the house would it truly feel like home.
As he began working, he had already decided to stay up all night, planning to take a short nap when he went to the office in the morning. The most important thing was his concern that something might happen with Rosalind, and he wouldn’t be able to respond in time.
As time ticked by, nearing midnight, Ulric unexpectedly saw Rosalind hurriedly walking out of the hospital entrance!
She saw Ulric’s car and quickly walked over to knock on the window.
“Surprised? Didn’t expect me to come out, did you?”
Ulric smiled and got out of the car. “Is your mother alright?”
“She was never in serious trouble, just had a heart attack from being scared. She’s asleep now with doctors and nurses taking care of her, so I came out.” After seeing Ulric’s message saying “I’ll wait for you,” Rosalind knew that if she didn’t go back to Easthaven Bay with him tonight, he would have waited outside the hospital all night.
So after handling her mother’s situation, she came down immediately!
Given Ulric’s heavy workload and limited rest time, which was even scarcer now, she wanted him to go home and rest peacefully.
“Can you leave now?”
“Yes, let’s go home.”
With that, Rosalind got into the passenger seat.
Ulric looked at her profile and suddenly asked, “How is your mother’s condition now? Should we consider changing hospitals?”
Rosalind was taken aback. “The surgery is already done, why change hospitals now? She’s just waiting for rehabilitation. Once she’s fully self-sufficient, she can be discharged.”
“I was thinking of moving her to a better place for recovery.”
“No need, she’s used to it here.”
Rosalind didn’t think much of it and was also exhausted from being busy for so long.
On the way back, she only said a few words to Ulric before falling asleep.
When the car arrived at Easthaven Bay, Rosalind was still asleep, and Ulric carried her to the bedroom.
Looking at the small figure curled up on the bed, he felt a true sense of possession! This was why Ulric seemed so enthusiastic about matters in bed!
It felt like only by holding her in his arms, entering her body, and seeing her flushed cheeks because of him could he prove that this wasn’t a dream but reality.
The person he had longed for since his youth truly belonged to him now.
……
The next morning, Rosalind was awakened by a call from Tilda.
“Sirena has voluntarily resigned and even posted a long article on social media admitting that she accidentally leaked the documents!”
Upon hearing this, she immediately opened her social media.
As Rosalind had expected, Sirena’s admission didn’t end the matter but sparked new debates! Comments were flooding in to comfort Sirena, the perpetrator, speculating whether she had been threatened. Some even suggested that Sirena was too kind-hearted and did this to avoid ruining the assistant’s future by taking the blame herself!
Because Sirena’s post didn’t mention anything about how she framed Rosalind. Her motives were vaguely and feebly explained, giving off the impression that it was all fabricated.
This was Sirena’s skill, she knew how to retreat strategically.
At a time when they were at odds, this move ensured that even if evidence later proved Sirena had framed Rosalind, some people would still doubt the authenticity of the evidence and think it was fabricated to clear Rosalind’s name.
