Ulric furrowed his thick brows, disliking how his father made such a decisive decision about someone’s future.
“I can only promise you that if Rosalind ever enters the core work of W Group, it will definitely be due to her own abilities.”
“If you’re so sure of Rosalind’s abilities, why can’t you see what Sirena has done for the company? Since your mother has approved of her as a daughter-in-law, she must be excellent in all aspects.”
“Sirena has been duly rewarded for her work.”
Ulric didn’t feel he owed Sirena anything! Although she had indeed contributed a lot to W Group, she also received the highest bonuses in the entire legal department every year!
“I’ve already taken a step back, not because I’m afraid of you, but because I’m afraid my wife, your mother, will die!” Caesar snorted coldly. “Think about the rest yourself.”
After saying this, he got up and left the office.
Ulric walked back to his desk and glanced at his phone. It was a WeChat message from Rosalind.
[It’s a bit tricky. Let’s wait until she recovers and is discharged! How about you?]
[I’m fine. I’ll pick you up after work.]
[Okay.]
Staring at the word “okay” on the screen, Ulric remained silent for a long time.
He didn’t know how this matter would ultimately end, but he knew he wouldn’t give up on Rosalind.

Similarly, just after putting down her phone, Rosalind looked up to see her mother staring at her.
Directly, as if she had something to say.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?”
“Tomorrow, have that Malcolm come to the hospital.” Eva anticipated her daughter’s reluctance, so she added, “You tell him, or I’ll call him myself.”
Rosalind sighed, “Why do you want to see him? He’s very busy with school.”
“I like this young man and want him to chat with me. Is that not allowed?”
She said it like that, but Rosalind wasn’t foolish, she knew what her mother was really implying!
“Mom, please don’t drag innocent people into this.”
“You were the one who brought him to meet me in the first place! Now I want to chat with him, and you won’t let me.” Eva had an indifferent look on her face. “Fine, I’ll talk to him myself.”
With that, she reached for her phone.
Rosalind quickly said, “I’ll tell him! I’ll talk to him after he gets off work, okay?”
She was worried about her mother’s tone and manner. After all these years, Mrs. Eva hadn’t learned how to communicate well with others.
It was always either threats or cold remarks.
Under her mother’s gaze, Rosalind opened her computer and continued to consolidate her work. As long as W Group hadn’t officially dismissed her, she would continue to work.
She knew that even a slight slack could leave her far behind. Even if she were reinstated later, she wouldn’t be able to keep up with the project’s progress.
She lowered her head and worked for several hours until she finally completed the data investigation and sent the document to Cedric.
Seeing that it was getting dark and almost time for Ulric to get off work, she got up and tidied up. “Mom, I’ll come see you again tomorrow.”
“Are you spending the evening with that Ulric?” Eva’s direct question left Rosalind at a loss for words.
Seeing her silence, Eva understood.
With a stern face, she suddenly spoke, “Actually, I know that even if I don’t force you to divorce, the Walters family will find a way! This outcome is inevitable, I just want you to preserve some last dignity.”
