“What did he say?”
“He told me everything he knew, but he said it wasn’t to persuade me to be with you.” Rosalind knew that as Ulric’s friend, Johnny said those things for Ulric’s good.
She had always ignored Ulric’s efforts, giving no response, no enthusiasm. In Johnny’s eyes, she was surely unworthy of Ulric.
He wanted her to leave Ulric voluntarily because he felt Ulric was suffering, torn between two sides.
“Don’t listen to him.”
“I didn’t, but you should be grateful to him. Otherwise, I might still be avoiding the issue, using divorce to solve the current troubles.” Rosalind pursed her lips. “Now you can tell me why you chose not to tell me and did everything silently.”
Ulric’s dark eyes deepened, and his thin lips parted slightly.
“If you had known from the beginning, you would have stayed far away from me.”
“…” Rosalind suddenly froze.
This was something she hadn’t expected.
Ulric could understand her so precisely!
Yes, as long as she sensed that a man had feelings for her, she would instinctively avoid them.
“So I couldn’t tell you. Besides, such a small matter, what’s the point of saying it?” He had never mentioned anything since middle school, so why would he start now?
Rosalind just looked at him quietly for a long time.
“Liking me must be exhausting.”
She knew it well herself.
Perhaps because of her mother, she was very resistant to the opposite sex! She even thought she would never fall in love or get married because no man could tolerate her and her upbringing!
“Not exhausting.”
“You’re lying.”
“Really not exhausting.”
“Then I’m tired. Let’s go home.”
Ulric smiled, “Okay.”
…
In Easthaven Bay, Rosalind never dreamed that Ulric, who had been sleepless all night, still had the energy for intimacy!
Once wasn’t enough, there was a second time…
Rosalind even suspected he wanted to make up for all the lost time these days!
In the end, she was so exhausted that she couldn’t lift her hands. He finally let out a low hum, sank down, and ended this intimate battle.
Ulric carried her to the bathroom to clean up. When he came out, Rosalind was already sound asleep.
He gently kissed her on the cheek, covered her with the blanket, and got up to check his phone.
To avoid interruptions earlier, he had uncharacteristically set his phone to silent mode.
There were several missed calls from his father Caesar and Cedric.
It was obvious that regarding Rosalind’s dismissal, his father had bypassed him to pressure Cedric.
He took the remaining half-pack of cigarettes from his suit jacket and walked to the balcony. After lighting one, he called back.
“I thought you weren’t going to acknowledge me as your father anymore!”
“What’s up?”
“You must fire this Rosalind. If she feels wronged, I can give her a sum of money so she’ll never have to worry about making a living! But you see the current situation, your mother absolutely cannot accept her.”
Ulric took a drag of his cigarette, suddenly remembered he needed to go back and hold Rosalind to rest, quickly extinguished it, then picked up a wet wipe from the table and meticulously cleaned his long fingers.
“She doesn’t need money.”
“So you’re ultimately deciding to abandon your mother?! Ulric, do you want me to kneel before you as your father?”
