Rosalind stood by the bench next to the garden, attempting to speak several times but ultimately making no sound.
“Do you really think, with your abilities and tactics, you can prove that Lawyer Reynolds framed you?”
“I believe justice resides in people’s hearts.”
“You believe it, your family believes it, your friends believe it, but no HR department in any investment bank will believe it! Once you’re fired for this reason, no one will care whether you were innocent or not.”
Cedric’s words were undeniably true.
Having worked in the professional world for so many years, he had seen all sorts of schemes and conspiracies!
It was quite common for a superior to ruin a subordinate’s career over personal grudges! The result was that the unlucky ones would leave the industry with a tarnished reputation, while the lucky ones might see their superior reprimanded briefly, but still end up leaving the industry with a stained name due to the company’s collective honor.
In either case, the disadvantaged person always suffered!
Seeing Rosalind remain silent, Cedric suddenly sighed.
“Rosalind, Mr. Walters hasn’t rested for almost 48 hours now, sigh…”
He hung up the phone, unsure of what else he could say.
Now, Ulric’s favoritism towards Rosalind was so obvious that even a fool could see it!
She sat on the bench for a long time, Cedric’s words echoing in her mind.
“Are you living too self-centeredly?”
Too self-centered…
Rosalind suddenly realized that she had never once considered things from Ulric’s perspective.
Just as he said, whenever she encountered difficulties, her first thought was to distance herself from him, naively believing she could clear her name on her own. Worse yet, she had even doubted Ulric before.
Her mind was in turmoil, an unresolvable chaos.
It felt as if Ulric’s affection had suddenly overwhelmed her like a mountain! Realizing his feelings for her were far deeper than she had ever imagined.
Before this, Rosalind had never been involved in any romantic relationships.
“Rosalind, finally found you.”
Suddenly, a man walked briskly towards her.
As he got closer, she recognized him as Johnny, the man who had stood with Sirena during Ulric’s car accident.
“Is something wrong?” Her voice was cold and distant, clearly not wanting to engage in conversation.
But Johnny looked at her seriously and took a deep breath before saying, “I’m here today to advise you to break up with Ulric.”
“That’s my business,” Rosalind disliked being pressured like this.
“You don’t have to be so sensitive. Although I don’t have much goodwill towards you, I don’t bear any malice either. I just want to tell you that Ulric has done too much for you. Now he’s in a difficult position, and I think it’s time you did something for him.”
“Are you Sirena’s man?”
“I’m not anyone’s man at this moment! You don’t need to be hostile towards me. Ulric and I have been friends for many years. He tells me things he wouldn’t tell others.” Seeing Rosalind’s obvious disbelief, he continued, “For instance, remember Mr. Wong from the Huayi Enterprises project? The day you went alone, Ulric knew and was worried about your safety. He immediately dragged me along to rescue you from his clutches.”
“…”
“Haven’t you ever wondered how he showed up so timely?”
