Callie felt a bit restless, like a scandalous heroine answering questions. She turned off the video and resumed eating. After a while, she couldn’t help but explain, “He asked, I had to answer. I didn’t embarrass you, did I?”
Nelson laughed out loud. He reached out to stroke her hair, resting his head on one hand. His rapid heartbeat gradually calmed as he looked into her eyes. “No, you didn’t.”
Sensing Nelson’s intense mood, Callie feared he might want to mess with her today. She made an excuse about being tired and wanting to sleep.
But he grabbed her wrist. Despite his cold physique, his palms were always warm.
“Don’t rush. Let’s take a walk and digest before sleeping,” he said leisurely.
“Want to take a tour?”
“Hmm?”
This place was vast and quiet, and Callie hadn’t explored every corner yet.
Before they left, Nelson gave her an extra coat.
He led her to the library, a large two-story house filled with books from floor to ceiling, including the stairs. As they opened the door, the scent of books mixed with a chill greeted them. From the paper quality and titles, it was clear these were expensive collectibles.
Nelson explained their origins and backgrounds in a warm voice, concise yet engaging.
Callie put a book back on the shelf but couldn’t resist his playful ambush from behind. His breath was intimate, and her ears turned visibly red and hot as Nelson kissed her.
“Hey!”
The room was heated, and the floor was warm. He took off his coat and laid it on the ground for her, his actions casual yet methodical. As mentioned before, this man was quite skilled in this area.
His kisses moved downward like the rising tide, waves crashing passionately.
Callie felt overwhelmed, never expecting his interest to come so suddenly and with such swift execution.
Each touch was both unfamiliar and familiar, leaving her no room to resist.
Water droplets fell on her arm, making it hard to bear.
He deliberately distracted her with unrelated topics at such moments.
“Don’t worry about me. The Oconnor Group didn’t get this far by being weak,” he said, his breath heavy and arousing.
He changed his pace, slowing down. “Scott Group’s stock has risen too much; it will inevitably fall back.”
Amidst her scattered thoughts, Callie vaguely understood his intention. “You plan to take action against Scott Group?”
The reason he mentioned this was precisely because he intended to sanction Scott Group.
