Chapter 262: Related to Her

Jett had a slender build, and when he looked at her, he exuded a youthful aura, his eyes filled with intense admiration. However, he knew his limits and didn’t push further.
With that, Callie said no more, only feeling a bit sad as she watched his lonely figure walk away. He was a boy with dreams, forced to leave due to some unfounded reasons, and it pained her.
Litzy came over and saw her melancholic expression, sighing, “Don’t be upset; this has nothing to do with you.”
Does it really have nothing to do with me? Callie couldn’t answer.
There were others in the company more suitable for the transfer than Jett, yet he was chosen. Clearly, someone was manipulating things behind the scenes. Maybe if she hadn’t gone to that movie with Jett before the new year, things would be different.
As she stood there, someone recognized her and quickly approached with a stack of documents, tapping her shoulder. “Miss Marsh, there’s a report meeting at 3:30 on the top floor, chaired by Mr. Oconnor himself. Don’t forget!”
A look of surprise crossed Callie’s bare face; she had forgotten about it. The person quickly left to notify the next important leader.
In Oconnor Group, everything moved at a fast pace, leaving no room for slack. Thus, the design department under the gentle Callie seemed particularly out of place.
No one dared to be late for the 3:30 meeting. The large conference room was filled with team leaders, each with a laptop, creating a strong business atmosphere.
Today, the man wore a white sweater, looking casual as if he had rushed back from somewhere, bringing with him a chill.
“Mr. Oconnor.”
He glanced around and nodded indifferently before opening the folder in front of him and tapping the table with his pen. “Let’s begin.”
After speaking, he coughed lightly into his fist, as if he had a cold.
All eyes were on him; in every way, he was the most dazzling presence.
It was only after getting to know him better that Callie realized how busy he truly was. He spent very little time at headquarters; the itinerary posted by the secretarial office showed locations that could circle the globe.
This was their second meeting since New Year’s Day.
A week had passed.
But he seemed not to notice her.
Callie sat in a corner, doodling on a piece of paper indifferently.
An older man next to her leaned over and spoke in a low voice, sounding nervous. “How’s your team doing this month? Ours isn’t doing well. Judging by Mr. Oconnor’s expression, it looks like we’re in for a rough time…”
Before he could finish, he saw what Callie was drawing and his tone changed dramatically in surprise. “What are you doing!”
On the paper was a lifelike… pig.
Callie glanced at him, unfazed by her actions.
She subconsciously looked at the man at the head of the table, listening intently to the report, and curiously asked, “How do you tell he’s in a bad mood? The rumors say he’s about to get married.”
The man gave her an exasperated look but couldn’t help giving her a thumbs-up in the end.
Callie couldn’t help but laugh.
Then a sharp gaze shot over; she restrained her smile and calmly met his eyes.
The man smirked slightly before quickly looking away.
Soon after, the person next to Callie was called up. He stammered for a while before Nelson interrupted him loudly. “It’s been a month since New Year’s; why hasn’t this land issue been resolved?”
