As Kayden faced off against the woman, it seemed the odds were in her favor. However, Kayden had no advantage at all! After battling Stone Chief for so long, he must be exhausted. The moment the woman made her move, he would undoubtedly die.
Thinking this, Gerry felt an overwhelming urge to thank the woman.
But the next moment, a shocking scene unfolded, dousing Gerry’s excitement like cold water.
Standing directly opposite Kayden, the woman’s black-eyed gaze met his. Her eyes, devoid of whites, resembled clear flowing water, mesmerizing yet eerie.
A person’s eyes typically consist of a pupil and an iris, but her lack of whites, added a sinister allure to her beauty. After locking eyes with Kayden for a few seconds, she knelt on one knee before him, raised her hands in salute, and spoke warmly, “I am Holy Maiden Cherry of Lion Portal. It is an honor to meet you, Defender of the South! I bring greetings from my portal’s leader, wishing for your eternal glory.”
Inside the villa, the Fords felt as if they had been stabbed in the heart, left dumbfounded and unable to make a sound. Even Stone Chief, who had knelt before the woman, was taken aback, his expression shifting dramatically.
Stone Chief was the hope of the Ford family, yet he immediately bowed to this woman like a dog before its master. Now, his master was kneeling before Kayden, acting like a servant before his lord, speaking with utmost respect and humility.
This completely shattered the Fords’ understanding of the situation, leaving them chilled to the bone.
They had considered Stone Chief their savior, but it turned out he was nothing at all.
If levels were to be assigned, Stone Chief had been reduced to a third level here, while the woman stood at the second level! Kayden, of course, was at the top level, the first!
At that moment, the Fords felt their spirits plummet.
Kayden had heard of Lion Portal, the mysterious portal that remained detached from worldly affairs and was unknown in modern society. To him, however, it was merely a useless portal that could be wiped out at a whim if it offended him.
“What? Does Lion Portal want to meddle in my affairs?” Kayden asked, his tone icy.
Holy Maiden Cherry quickly replied, “No, no, no! Lion Portal doesn’t dare interfere with you, Defender! I’m here to retrieve the rogue Stone Chief, who escaped from Lion Portal fifty years ago and stole our sacred artifact, the Shadow Realm. He has caused much havoc. For years, he has been hiding, and if it weren’t for your pressure, I wouldn’t have been able to trace him. I hope you can allow me to take this scoundrel back. Please rest assured, I will inform my leader of his offense against you, and he will be punished accordingly.”
Kayden paused, instinctively glancing at Stone Chief. He could kill the scoundrel right now, but he didn’t mind giving Lion Portal a face-saving opportunity. He wasn’t afraid of offending them; if they dared act against him, with a single word, he could reduce Lion Portal to ruins in minutes.
For now, he thought, it wasn’t necessary to confront this mysterious portal. After all, Stone Chief was useless to him. Living or dead, it made no difference. Kayden felt he could afford to grant Lion Portal a favor.
With that thought, Kayden sighed and asked, “What about the Shadow Realm I destroyed?”
“That’s no issue. The destruction of the Shadow Realm was inevitable. It has already corrupted many hearts. Our leader has long wanted to eliminate it, and now, you have done us a favor,” she replied smoothly.
While her words sounded pleasant, they weren’t her true intentions!
The Shadow Realm was indeed a sacred artifact, granting eternal youth to whoever possessed it-something everyone, regardless of gender, yearned for. But the people of Lion Portal couldn’t compete with Kayden, so they had to say such things.
Kayden didn’t press further and waved his hand. “Alright then, take him away.”
If his main goal today hadn’t been to deal with the Ford family, Stone Chief would have to die!
“Thank you, Defender!” Holy Maiden Cherry bowed deeply, putting on a sincere demeanor.
“Scoundrel, come with me!” she barked at Stone Chief. He complied with a meek “Yes” and obediently followed her as they left the Ford Villa, one after the other.
Once they had completely exited, a cold aura spread over the Fords. Everyone felt an unprecedented chill as if the Ford family had transformed into hell.
“Dad, what do we do?” Leonel asked in a hushed, ashen tone.
Gerry had lost all sense of direction. Their bodyguards were dead, and even the Stone Chief, whom he considered the savior of the Ford family, was gone. The family now stood at the brink of destruction.
Just as he felt at a loss, Kayden asked, nonchalantly, “Now, does the Ford family have any other backing?”
The question sent a chill down Gerry’s spine.
He swallowed hard, looking at Kayden with confusion and disbelief in his eyes. After a moment of contemplation, he stammered, “Who exactly are you?”
Kayden flashed a smile, devoid of any warmth, and replied, “You might want to save that question for the messenger of hell.”
With that, he took a step forward, clearly stating, “Come on! The Ford family will cease to exist tonight.”
“Wait!” Leonel suddenly shouted, stepping forward with his chest out. “Kidnapping your wife was my idea. Cheetah and Damian were both sent by me. It was all my doing. Don’t implicate my family. Take it out on me!”
Kayden glanced at Leonel and shook his head. “I know it was your people, but do you think your life is worth more than one of my capable subordinates? I said everyone in the Ford family must die. No one leaves here alive today.”
“Gerry, will you deal with this yourself, or shall I do it? As the head of the family, you should set an example,” Kayden said coldly like a demon from hell deciding Gerry’s fate.
Gerry was momentarily stunned, then turned to look at his children. Without hesitation, he knelt on the ground, his face filled with remorse. “Ancestors of the Ford family, I, Gerry Ford, have ruined the legacy you left behind. I have no face to meet you after death. I am willing to spill my blood in the Ford family hall to appease your spirits.”
With that, he drew a dagger, slowly closing his eyes, ready to plunge it into his chest. Resistance was futile. ‘If Stone Chief couldn’t beat Kayden, let alone me.’ Gerry thought in his mind.
But just then, a sharp, commanding voice rang out, “Who dares to touch my Ford family?”
