Chapter 150: Tony Was Left Dumbfounded!

Book:Back To Thrones Published:2024-10-15

Why did members of Nine Dragons’ Souls gather here? What was their intent? Were they on a critical mission?
No, it didn’t make sense. The Nine Dragons’ Souls was usually stationed at the border. They’re known for their impenetrable defenses, and they could always strike fear into anyone with ambitions against Seclela. This wasn’t anywhere near the border, so why would they show up here?
Were they here for a drill? Or perhaps…
Before Tony could even finish the thought, all members of Nine Dragons’ Souls had already assembled swiftly. They stood tall and proud, as imposing as mountains. Their sheer presence was enough to overwhelm Tony so much that he became out of breath under the immense pressure.
“Nine Dragons’ Souls has assembled. Awaiting your command, Defender of the South!” A man with a solemn expression straightened his back and fixed his gaze on a helicopter that had just touched down. His eyes were sparkling with deep reverence.
“Defender! Defender! Defender!” Suddenly, the crowd broke out into a thunderous roar. The roar burst forth like a mountain torrent, overwhelming everything in its path and shaking the heavens.
The majesty of this scene stunned Tony. He couldn’t help but wonder who was possibly worthy of such reverence.
Tony stood frozen in disbelief. He had heard of the title “Defender of the South” before, but he couldn’t remember where he did it due to his carelessness. All he could do now was to wait, to wait for the Defender to emerge from the helicopter.
His eyes gleamed with awe. In no time, he’s gonna witness someone truly extraordinary.
Now that this man could spark such fervor in Nine Dragons’ Souls, he must be their own leader.
To be so highly regarded within Nine Dragons’ Souls meant this person held immense power not just here, but across regions, in the whole Battlefield, and perhaps even throughout Seclela.
Gosh, he had the honor to witness such a towering figure! Tony swallowed hard as he wiped the nervous sweat from his palms.
As if an eternity had passed, and finally, a man stepped out of the helicopter.
He was a brawny, bronze-skinned giant whose body looked as if it forged from steel. Judging from his imposing image, he must be the leader of Nine Dragons’ Souls
But just as Tony was convinced this man was the Defender, he suddenly bowed low in the submissive posture, as if he were awaiting the arrival of someone far more important.
Tony blinked his eyes blankly. He was struck dumb for a minute. What’s going on? Could there really be someone even more powerful?
Then there came a soft sound of footsteps. A thin young man walked out of the helicopter. He’s wearing an indifferent look, and his gaze was as calm as a tranquil lake. He was clad in a plain gray shirt, faded jeans, and worn-out sneakers,
It looked like his entire outfit couldn’t have cost more than two hundred dollars.
“Kayden Scott!” Tony couldn’t help but blurt out. His eyes went wide with disbelief, as if they might pop out of his head.
How could this be possible? The one who stepped off the helicopter was none other than Kayden, that fool!
After a few seconds of stunned silence, a memory jolted Tony. It occurred to him what happened on that night when the Adams family celebrated them signing the contract. A group of people appeared from nowhere, shouting the name, Defender of the South.
So, they were actually talking about Kayden! He was not a fool but the War God!
The scene of that night flashed back into Tony’s mind.
It turned out that Kayden was really a big shot in Battlefield, the kind of man who merely needed one command to turn his enemies to ashes.
And it was none other than Kayden who made the call, the one that caused Tony to be fired.
He wasn’t joking. He truly held the power to seal Tony’s fate with a single phone call, or even to determine the survival of Tony’s family.
As this realization washed over Tony, cold sweat began to bead on his forehead. Even his back was drenched with perspiration.
In that moment, the roars of the Nine Dragons’ Souls grew increasingly deafening, crashing over Tony like a tsunami. He felt his head was in buzz. He’s on the verge of fainting because he could hardly accept this harsh reality.
Kayden was the one who commanded the Nine Dragons’ Souls, so he could easily doom him with just one word!
It’s plain as day that Kayden only came here to rescue his wife, Georgia.
Much to Tony’s relief, he hadn’t done anything harmful to Georgia, or else he might very well be the one to die next. Ironically, Tony even felt a bit grateful to the thugs who had kidnapped Georgia. If it weren’t for them, he might have already met his end.
But unfortunately, he couldn’t change the fact that he had previously offended Kayden. If one day Kayden gave the order, he would be facing certain death!
Even if he fled to the farthest corners of the earth, he would sooner or later greet Death, as long as he’s still wanted by Nine Dragons’ Souls. For them, killing someone was as easy as winking.
If only he could rewind time, he would definitely avoid provoking Georgia.
It’s so terrifying! Had he known earlier how formidable Kayden was, he would never have set himself on such a self-destructive path.
But now he could only surrender to fate. He fervently prayed in his heart that Mr. Kayden Scott would show some mercy and spare his life.
Kayden looked ahead with dull, vacant eyes. He raised his hand to give a gesture, and in an instant, the throng of thousands fell into a dead silence. It was as if the world had been enveloped in a blanket of tranquility at that very moment.
Actually, Kayden wasn’t fond of making such a big spectacle. He would never have caused such a commotion if it weren’t for dire necessity.
Kayden threw a glance at Greedy Wolf, who’s standing beside him, and commanded, “Surround that abandoned warehouse. If anyone dares to come out, kill them without mercy!”
With that, he took a step forward, heading toward the dilapidated old warehouse.
“Defender, I request to fight alongside you!” Greedy Wolf spoke with earnest gravity.
Kayden turned back to Greedy Wolf. “This is a personal matter to me,” he refused without hesitation.
“But…” Greedy Wolf hesitated, “Defender, whether it’s your personal matter or not, it’s my responsibility to resolve troubles for you! You’re still not fully recovered, and I request…”
Kayden cut him off with a decisive wave of his hand. “This is a personal matter to me!” he said in a tone that brooked no argument.
This time, his voice exuded a stern and resolute authority that left no room for anyone to defy him.
Greedy Wolf flinched at the authority in his words. He quickly bowed his head in obedience. “Yes, I get it, Defender!”
Ignoring him, Kayden made his way toward the warehouse in unhurried, steady strides.
Not long after, he arrived at the entrance of the warehouse. It was a large iron door, painted blue, and made of steel pipes. On the outside, it was wrapped in a layer of blue iron sheeting.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Kayden raised his foot and gave the door a hefty kick. The door was kicked open with a loud bang.
Inside the room, Cheetah and the others were running out of patience.
“Cheetah, do you think that guy is actually going to show up? We have waited long enough. Honestly, I believe he’s too scared to come. Look at this scene and our weapons, how could he even dare to step through that door?” asked Kent.
Cheetah cast a nervous glance at Damian, who was sitting motionless in the chair with eyes closed. It seemed he had fallen asleep.
Cheetah swallowed hard, torn between the urgency to ask and his fear of pissing off Damian.
He suddenly summoned his courage and asked, “Hey, is your husband coming or not? Maybe he’s too scared to show up.”
