Chapter 134 A Genius!

Kayden nodded slightly and said, “I see.”
Just those two simple words left Seth and Alex momentarily stunned. Was Kayden being overly confident? Did he really think that curing Sariah by sheer luck made him some sort of miracle doctor?
His arrogant demeanor seemed like he was about to overshadow the entire medical community!
Normally, after introductions, one would at least acknowledge the reputation of the other party. Although Seth and Alex weren’t exactly not famous all over the world, most people in the medical field had heard of them. By simply saying those two words, Kayden was blatantly ignoring their significance.
With that thought, Seth snorted and asked, “May I ask where you learned your skills, Mr. Scott? We’ve seen Ms. Faulkner’s condition too-it’s one of those rare traditional medicine cases that’s incredibly difficult to treat! If you managed to cure her, it must mean your master is exceptionally skilled.”
His words made it clear. It wasn’t Kayden’s talent that was impressive, but his master’s!
Kayden picked up on their implication but remained unfazed, simply shaking his head and replying, “I don’t know. My master didn’t tell me his name.”
Back when his master had passed on his lifelong skills to Kayden, he hadn’t shared his name or his specific school.
“Ha!” Alex squinted his eyes and said, “Young man, how many years have you been following your master? Even though I don’t practice traditional medicine and don’t understand acupuncture, I know that without at least thirty years of experience, one wouldn’t dare to insert needles. You don’t even look thirty. Where did you learn your acupuncture skills?”
Without hesitation, Kayden answered, “It was taught to me by my master. He never told me which school we belong to! Honestly, if it weren’t for encountering these specific problems, I wouldn’t even know I had this ability. For many illnesses, I just need to look at them, and I immediately know how to treat them.”
His words caused Seth and Alex to exchange bewildered glances. Even Lewis found Kayden’s statements absurd!
Alex let out a cold laugh and asked, “So, you’re saying this is the first time you’ve encountered symptoms like Ms. Faulkner’s?”
Kayden nodded slightly, “Yes, it’s my first time.”
“Since it’s your first time, aren’t you afraid that inserting needles might kill Ms. Faulkner?”
Kayden shook his head again, “No! I never do anything I’m not confident about.”
“That’s utter nonsense!” Seth couldn’t hold back any longer, slapping the table hard. His entire demeanor shifted, exuding a newfound intensity.
Kayden must think he was truly a genius in the medical field? Even geniuses wouldn’t speak like that! Who dares to claim they can cure a patient at first sight?
Kayden wasn’t a genius. Instead, everything his master had taught him was ingrained in his very being, becoming an instinct. When he encountered certain symptoms, he would immediately know the appropriate method to resolve them.
“Do you realize how unprofessional your statements are?” Seth demanded.
Kayden calmly replied, “I do, but what I’m saying is the truth. In your words, it’s a talent!”
Hearing this, Seth and Alex exchanged another look of astonishment.
What kind of words were these? How ridiculous!
Young people can be reckless, but to this extent-it wasn’t just youthful folly anymore!
He was too arrogant.
Seth couldn’t help but laugh, stroking his long beard as he glanced sideways. “I have been buried for half my life, but ever since I could read and write, I’ve been studying Seclela’s traditional medicine culture. Sixty years, exactly sixty years, I’ve been researching various pathologies. I’ve cured conditions that modern medicine couldn’t, but it took countless experiments and repeated trials before I dared to use acupuncture and treat patients. We know that one wrong move can kill someone, but you speak so casually!”
“I already said it,” Kayden repeated. “This is a talent in medicine!” He genuinely had this gift-many things just clicked for him after a single glance.
Otherwise, did they think becoming a Defender and guarding a region at his age was just luck?
“A talent!” Seth’s eyes narrowed to slits, focusing solely on Kayden. “Over the years, I’ve seen many masters of traditional medicine. None of them ever claimed to have any talent. Even the most famous doctor, the top figure in our Seclela traditional medicine community, wouldn’t dare to say he has any talent. You, a young whippersnapper, may be reckless, but boasting in front of us, who are older and have more experience, is just unrealistic.”
Seth’s words were infuriating, filled with resentment.
Alex also let out a cold laugh, “Although I didn’t study traditional medicine, I’ve spent my entire life in modern medicine. No one has ever dared to call themselves a genius in the medical field. Do you think that accidentally curing Ms. Faulkner means you can disregard everyone else in this world? From the moment I met you, I thought you were arrogant. I didn’t expect you to be so conceited!”
Their every word was a scolding lesson for the young man, as if they were the true pillars of Seclela’s medical community, and Kayden was just a boastful kid.
“What are you two trying to say?” Kayden asked nonchalantly, lifting his water glass and taking a sip, his demeanor as calm as ever.
The more composed he was, the more annoyed Seth and Alex became.
At Kayden’s age, he should be easily angered, but his calmness was more steady than that of an old man. It was as if he had weathered countless storms, facing everything with the same detachment calmly.
Seth rolled his eyes and said, “Since you claim that just by seeing a patient you can cure them, then here’s a challenging case. If you can cure this patient in front of us, we’ll believe you.”
“A joke!” Kayden’s expression darkened, and he asked, “Why should I make you believe me? Does it really matter to me whether you believe it or not?”
Indeed, they were just two inconsequential old men, the so-called pillars of the southwest, nothing more than two old guys who valued fame and fortune. They were just relying on their age to try and overpower Kayden.
There are many people like them-perhaps ninety-nine percent of people are like this.
