Morgan left the office pretty early, as he was going to take Olivia to the hospital for check up, Frederick was out of town.
Olivia was dressed pretty in a long pink flay gown, with a small cup hand and V- neckline. She tied her hair into a lazy bun, as few curly strands fell across her face, giving her the glow of youthfulness and untainted beauty. Just like a flower.
She sat on the couch, her eyes fixed on the large led screen in the living room, she seemed too focused and interested in whatever she was watching.
Morgan had been so protective yet attentive towards her, that he wouldn’t even let her do anything on her own, as he was scared she might get hurt or hurt the baby.
All Olivia did was sleep, wake up, eat and got back to sleep. He even went as far as packing everything in her room to his, and locked the room, giving her no other option but to settle and sleep in his room.
She was really gaining more flesh and plump!
Olivia was still focused on the television, when Morgan’s sandalwood smell, mixed with his cologne wafted into her nose. She jerked up immediately, her eyes quickly darting to the direction, where the smell was more heavy.
Morgan, who seemed to just get into the living room, was surprised, as he caught Olivia staring at the door, even before he got in, as if she already predicted he would arrive at that moment.
His gaze quickly darted to her dress, and finally rested on her face. Her delicate, yet innocent and beautiful features had him mesmerized, that his heart couldn’t help but tugg with affection, and something he couldn’t quite hold on to.
“You’re here.” She said softly, quickly looking away from him, as his gaze seemed to be having an effect on her lately.
Her voice seemed to snap him out of his trance as he looked away quickly, maintaining his composure. He took a quick glance at his luxurious wrist watch and to the television Screen.
“You’re ready?” He asked, returning his gaze to her.
Olivia nodded, and stood up slowly, she grabbed the scarf beside her and made to cover her face, when Morgan’s voice beat her to it.
“You won’t use that today-”
Olivia frowned immediately, confusion marred on her face. “What about my face?”
“I’ll handle that.”
“How?”
Morgan frowned and clenched his fists. He really didn’t appreciate someone questioning his decision, but since it was this woman in front of him, he’ll let it go. He unclenched his fists, and flashed a sweet yet attractive smile at Olivia, who choked on her saliva, as her breath hitched.
“You’ll see how.”
‘How dare he smile like that, in the middle of such a serious conversation that was serious?’
Olivia didn’t want to push the argument and nodded. Besides, Morgan won’t dare to risk her safety, as she was carrying his child.
She tossed away the scarf and grabbed her purse, and walked towards Morgan, who grabbed her hands and went ahead. Olivia didn’t know why, but she felt jolts of shivers, as his hands intertwined with his, she felt uncomfortable, as her heart rate accelerated.
“Are you okay?” Morgan suddenly paused, turning to look at her, which made her nearly bump into his chest, but he was fast to grab her chin, and steadied her head.
Embarrassed, Olivia lowered her head, she didn’t dare to meet his gaze.
“Are you okay?” He asked again.
She nodded, still not raising her head, Morgan felt conflicted, he suddenly grabbed her chin, causing her to look at him. He furrowed his brows deeply, upon seeing her red face.
“Are you sick?” He asked worriedly, quickly releasing her chin and using the back of his palm to check her temperature.
Olivia was stunned that a grown up man like Morgan, couldn’t tell when a woman was embarrassed or blushing, ‘Such a stupid man’s’ She was at least grateful, that he couldn’t tell what she felt at that moment.
She nodded, removing his hands from her chin, and walked ahead.
“If you are, why is your face red?” he followed after her.
‘Idiot, I’m embarrassed!’
“I don’t know, the weather is cold, it might have affected my temperature and made my face red. I’m sure it isn’t only me that gets affected by the cold weather.” She said, not looking at him as she walked faster to the car.
Morgan was relieved at her reply and went after her. Nicholas, who sat in the car, witnessed the whole scene and could easily tell the truth from the lie. The fact that his boss had no less idea about matters like this and was easily convinced by Olivia’s lie, made him laugh.
He only wore back his serious expression, as the couple entered the car.
The drive to the hospital wasn’t long, as they pulled up in front of the building in less than one hour. Olivia glanced at Morgan, a question look, as she saw the people surrounding the hospital’s premises. Morgan felt her worry and came down from the car, he closed the door and went to open it from Olivia’s side.
Olivia, who had no idea of what he had in mind, stared at him, with her knitted brows and expectant gaze. She was still watching, when Morgan’s long and muscular arms reached out and scooped her out of the car.
Embarrassed, she tucked her face into his broad and welcoming face, making it difficult to see her face. No one would even dare to go to Morgan at a close range, his aura was too distant and noble.
Nicholas was focused on his phone, when a nearby conversation got his attention. He didn’t follow Morgan into the hospital, as he had requested him to.
He pretended to be focused on his phone, while listening to the conversation going on close to him. He slowly glanced at them, taking in their features, he confirmed that weren’t from Manilla, not lived in Manilla, they came for a vacation and one of their friends fell sick.
The friend that fell sick was an explorer and loves videoing and recording anything he finds interesting. Nicholas, heard from them that he already recorded the most prestigious university in Manilla, and that the environment was so superb, which was Redcrest.
At this point, Nicholas couldn’t hold in his thoughts and went to them, he smiled politely, exchanging greetings with them, they seemed nice and it was easier talking to them.
“I’m sorry to intrude into your conversation, but I heard something that piqued my interest and I couldn’t let it slide.” he smiled softly again.
Both men exchanged glances and nodded at him to continue.
“Once again, I’m sorry Interrupting you, but I’m also an explorer and feel bad to hear a colleague was sick, may I know what happened to him?”
Both men seemed to fall for his lies and shook their heads in pity. “I really can’t point out what happened to him, but the doctor said he’s having a high blood pressure and something triggered it.” The older man said.
Nicholas shook his head, as if feeling pity for him, “Do you have an idea, when it happened and where he was?”
“I think that’s when he went to tour around Red crest, the city’s largest school. He flew his plane back by himself, but he seemed unwell after he returned, he said he saw something that broke his heart, he didn’t get to explain to us and fainted, since then we’ve been here, waiting for his recovery.”
Nicholas hummed, “That’s so sad. At what time did he return that day?”
“It was later in the evening.” The old man added.
“I’m so sorry about that. I have connections with the doctor and I’ll help you talk to him to fasten his recovery process.” Nicolas promised.
“Goodness me, thank you so much!” They chorused in unison.
Nicholas nodded, and apologized again for interrupting their conversation. At least, he confirmed his doubt, now he really needs to talk to Morgan. He hadn’t walked far, when he remembered something and paused, turning towards the men.
“Hi sir, please can I get his ward number, so the doctor can identify it easily.”
“Oh that? It’s 308.”
“Alright thank you”
“Thank you too.”
As soon as he turned his back, he saw Morgan carrying Olivia in his arms while he walked out from the building.
