Chris Shelby picked up his cellphone to find a call from Bull.
“What’s going on, Bull?” he asked.
“Mr. Shelby, there’s something important, and I hope you can come over,” Bull replied.
“Alright!”
After hanging up, Chris Shelby prepared to leave. Seeing him about to depart, Esther quickly asked, “Dear, where are you going?”
“Dear, I have some matters to attend to; don’t wait up for me tonight!” Chris responded and then left the villa.
Esther watched him go, a sense of loss stirring in her heart. Chris had only just returned, and now he was leaving again. She knew, however, that it must be important, or he wouldn’t have left.
Soon, Chris Shelby arrived at East Coast Securities. Bull and others were already waiting at the entrance. Upon seeing Chris, Bull approached him respectfully and said, “Mr. Shelby, you’ve arrived!”
Chris nodded and then entered East Coast Securities.
“What exactly happened, Bull?” Chris asked, sitting in an executive chair, getting straight to the point.
“Mr. Shelby, after you left the East Coast, a faction entered into East Coast. I received crucial information that Crazy Steer’s leader, Ironheart Steer, secretly met with several key figures. According to our investigations, these individuals are from one of the top five mercenary groups in the world, Knights’ Liberty!” Bull explained.
“Knights’ Liberty?” Chris frowned upon hearing this.
He was familiar with Knights’ Liberty. Last time in Oxwoods, Chris led three thousand Death Guards in a sweeping victory over Knights’ Liberty.
It was surprising that Knights’ Liberty dared to come to the East Coast. Amerosia had always been a forbidden zone for Western dark forces. Rarely did such forces venture into the East Coast.
East Coast Securities, led by Bull, had always dealt with underground forces, not even having encountered mercenaries, let alone a top-five ranked mercenary group like Knights’ Liberty. Amerosia had no mercenary groups, and foreign mercenary groups generally did not venture into Amerosia.
Bull hadn’t expected that this time, to vie for dominance over the East Coast underworld, Ironheart Steer would collude with Knights’ Liberty.
Chris’s face hardened. “It seems Ironheart Steer is courting death!”
Ironheart Steer’s collusion with foreign forces to enter Amerosia was sheer madness. Amerosia had always harshly suppressed such foreign forces, never allowing them to cause trouble domestically.
And Knights’ Liberty must be insane too. Didn’t they know that coming to Amerosia would mean facing severe repercussions?
It appeared that Knights’ Liberty’s move was not simple. Unless Ironheart Steer offered something tempting to Knights’ Liberty, or there was something in the East Coast worth the risk for them.
Once the Amerosian troops learned of Knights’ Liberty’s presence, they would surely send a large force to eliminate them. Even with Knights’ Liberty’s strength, it would be a dead end.
Moreover, Crazy Steer was merely an underground force on the East Coast; what could they possibly offer to entice Knights’ Liberty?
The only explanation was that there was something in the East Coast that Knights’ Liberty desired. Hence, they risked coming to the East Coast this time.
Upon learning that Knights’ Liberty was on its way, Bull immediately called Chris Shelby. East Coast Securities was no match for Knights’ Liberty. After all, East Coast Securities was merely an underground force. Each mercenary from Knights’ Liberty had been forged in the fires of battle. They killed without batting an eye, making the members of East Coast Securities seem like novices in comparison.
Chris Shelby asked, “How many people has Knights’ Liberty sent this time?”
Bull replied, “Mr. Shelby, this time Knights’ Liberty has sent ten thousand people, and all of them are elites, incomparable to the members of Crazy Steer we dealt with before.”
Hearing this, Chris Shelby frowned. He hadn’t expected Knights’ Liberty to send ten thousand people. The last time, on Knights’ Isle, Chris Shelby had decimated Knights’ Liberty. This force of ten thousand was likely the last of Knights’ Liberty’s reserves.
Bull sighed and said, “Mr. Shelby, without Knights’ Liberty, Crazy Steer wouldn’t pose a threat to me. I wouldn’t have disturbed you if it weren’t for their arrival!”
Chris Shelby nodded and reassured him, “Don’t worry, I’ll have Phoenix and the Guards of Death handle Knights’ Liberty.”
At this, Bull’s face lit up with joy. With the Guards of Death involved, Knights’ Liberty was not to be feared. Then, Chris Shelby called Phoenix.
“Phoenix, Knights’ Liberty is coming to the East Coast. I want you to lead the Guards of Death and handle it.”
“Yes!” came the immediate reply from Phoenix on the phone.
Meanwhile, the underground world of the East Coast was in turmoil, and many sensed something unusual. Under Bull’s leadership, East Coast Securities began a thorough search across the East Coast, determined to find members of Crazy Steer and Knights’ Liberty.
“Boss, according to my investigation, Knights’ Liberty has come to the East Coast, led personally by their leader, Dull. Recently, Knights’ Liberty has been gradually infiltrating the East Coast,” reported one of the members.
Chris Shelby nodded and instructed Phoenix, “Your task is to locate Knights’ Liberty and annihilate them!”
“Yes!” Phoenix nodded and departed.
Chris Shelby also called the Chief of the East Coast Patrol, Lightning, because the upcoming operation would be substantial, and it was crucial to communicate with Lightning beforehand. When Chris Shelby informed him about the foreign mercenaries’ infiltration, Lightning’s expression grew extremely serious. Over the phone, he assured Chris Shelby of the East Coast Patrol’s full cooperation.
After making these arrangements, Chris Shelby didn’t worry too much. With his plans in place, Knights’ Liberty was walking into a death trap if they dared to come.
“Boss, I’ve located Knights’ Liberty; they are in the suburbs of the East Coast,” Phoenix called after a short while.
“Excellent! Immediately gather the troops; this time, I intend to completely destroy Knights’ Liberty!”
In a valley in the East Coast suburbs, Chris Shelby quietly positioned thirty thousand Guards of Death in ambush. In the valley, there were tents surrounded by fully armed mercenaries patrolling the area.
