CHAPTER 111: Flames of Affection

“Chase,” I finally said, though I could hardly hear how weak my voice sounded. You are allowed to choose from I. .. I don’t know what to say. Everything’s so complicated right now. What I experienced, what it might mean, for everything, I’m not sure. I don’t even know if anything is real anymore.

He barely inclined his head with a look of sorrow on his face at the corner of his lips. “I understand,” he said. ‘And if you need time, or space, I ‘

I turned him off, and then I kissed him hard on the mouth, a kiss that he and I did not expect. At first, it was gentle, gentle, but then he wanted more, and I gave it to him, didn’t I? All the years of restraint and passion, turned into time wasted were brought out in that breath of a moment of touch.

And when we finally stopped and both of us were out of breath, I looked up into Chase’s eyes. Saying this softly, I felt the rain to be real. “More real than anything. ”

What happened next was something that is not easily describable in terms of feelings and emotions. The mild stroking turned to the rougher, sweet promises interspersed with gentle moans and breathing. We did not only come together in physical unity but came together in spirit, with each other as the only hope in the storm which surrounded us.

After that, when both of us were covered waist-down and still tangled up in the sheets, I leaned my head on his chest, listening to the sound of his heartbeat. The world outside appeared to be insignificant, inconsequential. At least for now, the questions about the existence of the multiverse, the feeling of the forthcoming cosmic shift all of this has receded to the backstage.

Perplexed, he sighed lightly, “So now what?” He started drawing circles on my skin.

I yawned, burrowing myself closer to him, and wrapping my arms around him. ‘I really don’t know,’ I said. ‘It’s all different, isn’t it?’ Not only. .. This, between us. But all that was here, all that I saw out there. .. ‘

Chase was thus for a while as he stopped caressing my back gently using his hand. “Let me guess”, he whispered gently. The last thing that he did was to plead with me, taking my hand into his: “Sweetheart, try to tell me all you saw, all you felt, anything I must know. ”

And so, protected by the circle of his embrace, I started to open my mouth and to say something. In describing this, I revealed to him the near infinite possibilities of realities and of us that I see, the plural of self. I mentioned being overwhelmed by the general interdependence, the feeling that whatever one did was creating the universe.

On the contrary, as I was speaking, I noticed that Chase’s analytical skills are deeply embedded; he tries to dissect the fact that I was narrating to him, which is truly amazing. He questioned, he theorized, that his impressive sharp thinking narrows on concepts which cannot be explained by normality.

‘It’s incredible,’ said he as he stopped me as soon as I was done, the tone of surprise reflecting in his voice. They say that if it is true what I am telling them, and I know that you, Brianne, believe it is indeed true, then we stand right before something. .. Revolutionary. The new view of reality which a human being is capable of perceiving is going to be revolutionary.

I nodded for the anticipation of our task, but I was not afraid to admit that a part of me was excited as well, “But it is more than just knowledge, isn’t it?” ‘There is … an imperative, in a way, to do something about it, though one doesn’t know quite what; there is an understanding that humanity, collectively, must … awaken. ‘

Chase sighed and turned his glance away; he was contemplating something. ‘It is as if you are speaking about having deliberate intent in the construction of a reality’ he responded, carefully. “To learn how humanity decided to play an active part in creating not only our reality but every reality possible?”

“Yes,” I sighed, [I was glad that he finally realized. ] That is precisely the issue at that level of indirection. But how does one start, how do words such as these being written now get even a modicum of consideration without sounding like a complete raving mad person providing his wisdom?

Chase pulled me closer into his embrace and dropped a gentle kiss on my forehead. “Yeah we will,” he replied with an unyielding voice, as if he was already solving the problem. Together. Even if all the fireworks are gone and the skies get dark with thunderstorms, whatever is yet to come, whatever difficulties are ahead of us we will overcome them together, united in our work, in friendship.

Chase reached out and pulled me closer as I closed my eyes, and, for the first time in a long while, I felt content: at least, for the present, I did not know what lay ahead, only that it would be difficult. Reality had become mutable, and we were inhabitants of a world that was standing at the juncture of a revolution that could transform. . . Everything.

But for the first time since I had opened my eyes on this latest otherworldly vision, I was perfectly at home. Chase’s love, his encouragement and his intellect have been strength to me. Altogether, we would solve the enigma of the multiverse. In this way,
As I closed my eyes, and I felt safe in Chase’s arms, I realized that no matter what tomorrow would hold we would face it together. In love, in science and in the greatest of all adventures, the creation of a new world.

The rest of our existence and we repeat ourselves coming into the world a number of times a new part of our lives will start. And I was looking forward to what is next that we will be coming up with.
