Originally, everything was peaceful, but an unexpected earthquake disrupted the Soul Lock Array.
As a result, the sealing power of the Array gradually began to fail.
The soldiers’ corpses, filled with resentment and located in this natural Boneyard, had turned into zombies over the centuries.
Once the Array’s suppression was lost, the stronger creatures broke free and caused havoc, leading to the deaths in Mount South Village.
In hindsight, Ty Garrett’s choice of this valley had both advantages and disadvantages.
“Master, what should we do now? There are five hundred soldiers in this array, which means five hundred zombies,” Zephyr asked cautiously.
Five hundred zombies are not just five; even ants can kill an elephant if there are enough of them.
Leo decisively said, “Since we’re here, retreating without a fight is not an option. You two Taoist priests may do as you wish.”
Kakumei paused and then said displeased, “What kind of talk is that? Our Celestial Masters Sect is dedicated to eliminating evil and upholding justice. Dealing with a few zombies is nothing.”
Zephyr, inspired by his master’s words, straightened his neck and said, “Master is right. Eliminating evil and upholding justice is our duty as practitioners.”
“Let me lead the way,” Kakumei said as he waved his Hossu. Instantly, rays of auspicious light flew towards the Array.
The Array reactivated immediately, emitting beams of blue, white, red, and black light to intercept, but they were easily blocked by the auspicious light.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Leo and the others quickly entered the array, heading straight for its center.
Upon reaching the center, they saw a large dark hole in the ground. Beside it lay a shattered sealing stone with remnants scattered around.
Kakumei pointed to the broken stone and said, “This was the sealing stone for the tomb; it’s indeed broken.”
Leo nodded and peered into the hole.
It was pitch black inside, exuding a chilling aura like an endless abyss.
Kakumei continued, “This seems to be a natural underground cave used as a burial site. Quite convenient.”
“Master, shall we go down now?” Zephyr asked eagerly.
Kakumei smiled confidently, “Indeed.”
Turning to Leo, he said, “Leo, I have more experience. Let me go first while you and Zephyr follow behind. How about that?”
“Alright, I’ll leave it to you then,” Leo agreed.
Kakumei nodded, “The situation inside is unclear. Everyone must be cautious.”
With that, he leaped lightly into the hole.
Leo and Zephyr followed closely behind.
As soon as they landed in the cave, they felt a gust of wind in their ears, their hearts racing with fear as if falling into an endless abyss.
However, the cave wasn’t deep; Leo’s feet soon touched the ground.
It was pitch black ahead. Unsure of Kakumei’s condition, Leo called out, “Master!”
Just then, a bright light illuminated the cave as a luminous pearl floated up, lighting up a large area.
To Leo’s surprise, it was Kakumei holding the luminous pearl.
“Mr. Bloomer, I’m here,” Kakumei said.
Leo breathed a sigh of relief.
Suddenly, there was a sound above them as Zephyr jumped down. He stumbled upon landing and almost fell into Leo’s arms.
Leo quickly grabbed him and joked, “Be careful. No need to hug me so enthusiastically.”
Zephyr smiled awkwardly.
Kakumei said, “We must hurry. It’s still daytime; zombies move slowly and their powers are weak. This is our best chance. If we wait until nightfall, it will be much harder.”
Leo nodded, “Alright then. Let’s kill them all.”
Zephyr was even more excited, “I’ve never seen a zombie before.”
Kakumei smiled, “Don’t worry. You’ll have plenty of chances today. Let’s go.” He led the way deeper into the cave.
Leo and Zephyr quickly followed him into the unknown darkness guided by the luminous pearl’s light.
After walking about thirty steps, they suddenly heard terrifying screams from deep within the darkness.
The ground trembled as countless footsteps approached rapidly.
Kakumei’s face changed as he warned, “It’s zombies! There are many of them. Be careful.”
Within moments, at the edge of light and darkness in the cave’s depths, numerous shadows appeared.
Soon, they could see these shadows clearly.
Clad in ancient armor stained with blood, faces covered in black death spots, eyes blood-red like rubies, and mouths and noses emitting a foul Death Reek.
They were identical to the zombies Leo encountered the previous night but in greater numbers and more terrifying.
Leo felt nauseous from the stench of Death Reek and almost vomited his dinner from the night before.
At that moment, Kakumei roared and swung his sleeve. A golden flying sword shot out with a sharp whistle, its blade extending several feet as it charged at the zombies!
The flying sword sliced through several zombies effortlessly, reducing them to pieces in an instant with blood and flesh flying everywhere.
What a powerful flying sword!
Leo praised it and quickly took out a Talismans.
Golden lightning bolts rolled forward, blasting several zombies into pieces mid-air.
Seeing zombies for the first time, Zephyr finally snapped out of his shock and shouted, “Evil creatures! Taste my Spirit Tool.”
He took out an ancient bronze mirror. Holding its handle with his right hand and wiping its surface with his left hand.
The mirror hummed and emitted a bright golden beam.
Wherever the beam touched a zombie, it would scream in agony and burst into flames before turning to ashes in seconds.
The three of them slaughtered zombies relentlessly.
These terrifying creatures couldn’t get close to Leo and his companions; they were mercilessly killed from afar.
The cave echoed with screams as blood splattered everywhere. The scene was so gruesome that an ordinary person couldn’t bear to look at it.
In just a few minutes, all zombies before them were wiped out effortlessly.
A dozen steps ahead lay heaps of corpses and rivers of blood with a strong stench of decay filling the air.
Zephyr asked nervously, “Master, how many zombies did we just kill?”
